This document introduces Kendra H. and provides details about her background, education, hobbies, career goals, and aspirations for the future. Kendra is currently a freshman studying to become a secondary education history teacher. She has always wanted to be a teacher since she was young. Her hobbies include golfing, cooking, and collecting flip flops. Her goal is to become a middle school history teacher to prepare students for high school while exciting them about history. In 10 years, she hopes to be teaching middle school near a major city while also coaching golf and starting a family.

2. Who Am I? Currently, I am a Freshman at the University of South Dakota. I am working towards earning a Secondary Education History Major with Earth Science and Geography Minors. I am originally from Iowa. As the daughter of a school administrator, I moved often as a child. I have wanted to be a teacher since the age of five. 3. I am the oldest of two children. I have one younger brother who is currently in high school. Both of my parents are educators, so you could say that teaching is kind of the family business. As a family, we spend a lot of time golfing, vacationing, and watching “The Big Bang Theory.” (Bazinga!) My Family

4. Hobbies I am a golfing addict, who started hitting the course at the age of three. I thoroughly enjoy cooking and baking! If there is one person I am dying to meet, it would be Buddy Valastro ‘The Cake Boss’. I love collecting flip flops! At present, I have nearly 70 pairs in every color of the rainbow. My mission as an educator will be to ensure that my students not only understand the curriculum, but also have the skills to be successful in the next grade level. This is why I hope to be a middle school history teacher. So that I can excite my students about history while simultaneously preparing them for high school. My Mission

6. Professional Goals My ultimate goal is to become a middle school American history teacher! I also hope to obtain a coaching endorsement so that I could teach others how to golf. Being that I am a life-long learner, I am sure I will go back to school after a few years of teaching to become either a school administrator or a media specialist. 7. Where Will I Be In Ten Years? In ten years, I would like to be living in a suburban area near Chicago or Kansas City. I hope to be teaching history or geography to middle school students. I also would like to be either the head or assistant girl’s golf coach. Not only do I want to be a teacher, I also hope to be a parent and possibly a part-time baker.
