This document contains the production diary of a student working on their final major project for a BTEC Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production. It consists of weekly updates over several months where the student lists what they have been working on and their plans for the following week. Throughout the project, the student researched ideas, created proposals and storyboards, practiced pitching their project, and began drawing out their animation digitally.

I made a list of task’s I needed to complete in order to pass the
project. I put the tasks into a schedule so I know what days to do
the different tasks on so I’m more organised and each week I have
something to do so I don’t get behind in my work. I’ve not had to
rearrange any of my tasks from my schedule.
Next week I will be doing my initial ideas for my
animationand by the end of the week I will hopefully
have my final idea picked so It gives me more time to do
my other tasks.

This week I did a mind map of all the ideas I could do for my final
major project. I researched the different animation types to see
which one I’d like to do.
For next week I will be working on my final major
project proposal.

proposal. I have chosen the content, target audience and the
techniques I will use.

I started to draw out the designs for my animation, I choose my
favourite ones and drew them out in black pen so I can scan them
in and upload them on the computer to I can use them as a
template when I start drawing them out on the
Illustrator.

I continued with the research, I looked at different animation
companies and how they do there animations.
I will start working on my storyboards.

I have started doing my storyboards so I know what happens at
what time when I start to edit my animation together.
Next week I will hopefully start drawing my designs on
Illustrator.
