In the past month they have developed their initial idea, conducted research on similar magazines, and created a proposal and presentation. They plan to take photos for the magazine next week. If unable to borrow a camera from college, they will take photos outside of college or reschedule. They also created and analyzed a market research questionnaire. Going forward, they will write a detailed photo shoot plan and continue preparing their pitch for the upcoming presentation.

Today was the first lesson we had when we was given this
project so I had to start thinking and deciding what type of
project I wanted to do. I decided that I would make a
Celebrity, Beauty and Fashion magazine for older teenage
females. So now that I have come up with my initial idea I
have begun filling in my time management timeline as I
know exactly what things I will need to do for: research,
pre-production, production and post-production.
I plan to have this time management task completed and
uploaded to my blog by next week. Then I will began the piece
of work I said I would do next on my time management
schedule which is part of my market research – I will be looking
at magazines with the same genre as me and target audience to
find the magazines that influence me then I will put them into a
PowerPoint.

I have started doing this PowerPoint and I am now half way
through it I have included pictures of the magazine – the
cover contents page, double page spreads and images they
use throughout the magazine and said what images I plan
to use for mine and gave information about the magazines
that influence me.
I just need to add a few more slides to this and it will be done
hopefully by the end of this week if not the end of next week’s
first lesson so I am ready to do something else for next week
which will be writing my project proposal.

I did plan to have my Influences PowerPoint finished by
now however I have not yet managed to do this but this is
because my project proposal needed to be completed
earlier than I thought so as the proposal had to be
completed first I did that instead and uploaded it to my
blog.
I have now completed my PowerPoint and uploaded it to my
blog. Now for the rest of the week I will be carrying on with my
pre-production where I will be finding images of pages, front
covers and contents pages of Teen Vogue magazine as that is
my main magazine inspiration and then with these I will be
creating a mood board to show what I am going for with my
own magazine.

Today I began looking at all other magazines with the same
genre of my magazine and gathered images of all the ones
that I liked and put them into a mood board and then from
these I picked my favourite and created a separate mood
board using just images from the magazine that influenced
me the most.
I have created the two mood boards that I planned to do this
week and have uploaded them both to my blog. Next week is
our week off so I am going to book out a camera and during this
week off take most of the images for my magazine as up to now
I have 1 model. I will need quite a few more people however as I
am only using one person for my front cover this will do fine for
now.

couldn’t have one there as they had to use all the cameras
so there was none left for anyone else, so instead I wrote
up a plan of what images I would take, who would be in
the pictures and how many people I would need and I now
have friends that have agreed to let me photograph them
for my magazine.

As I will be taking pictures outside of college, during my lessons
next week I will start creating a thorough questionnaire as part
of my market research then I will hopefully have this done over
maybe 2 lessons at the most and then hand them out on
Thursday and then by the beginning of next week I hope to have
the results from them all tallied up and then I will put them on
my blog along with the questionnaire I originally created.

I created my questionnaire and in a college break I handed
them out around the college, approaching my target
audience and got the results and tallied them up then in
my next lesson I wrote up an analysis talking about my
results, why I asked those specific questions and what I will
do with them now.
I now plan to write up a detailed plan of what images I am going
to take and where and explain what is going onto each page.

I wrote my magazine pitch in the first two lessons I had this
week and I timed myself reading it through so that I knew
how long the presentation I plan to create will need to be. I
will now start gathering images for my presentation.
I plan to get all the images I need to do my PowerPoint
presentation and then I want that to be finished in the first
lesson I have next week so that I can start learning what I need
to say for my pitch.

I have now finished my presentation and I am just adding a
little bit more to my pitch as I feel I haven’t yet covered
everything that I need to talk about.
I will start writing cue cards that I will be able to take in with me
and continue to try and memorise my pitch ready for Tuesday,
as that is the day I will be delivering my pitch. So I need to
ensure that I am prepared for it.
