Kamenets-Podolsky is one of the most ancient cities in Ukraine, located in the Hmelnitsky area. Its name comes from the rocky soil in the district. The old city is protected as a national historical and architectural park due to its unique canyon along the Smotrich river. The fortress withstood many attacks from Poles and Turks over the years, and now serves as the center of the new city, connected to the old city by gates.
