Włocławek is a town located on the Vistula River between the regions of Kujawy and Dobrzyn. It has a long history dating back to medieval times and was once an important trade center and seat of the bishop of Kujawy. The town contains several historic monuments including the Cathedral from 1340-1411 and the Church of St. Vitalis from 1330. Today, Włocławek has attractions like the Marshal Edward Rydz Smigly steel bridge and sports centers, as well as a shopping center and cinema. The town square contains a monument for soldiers who died in wars and is a popular place for residents to relax.

Włocławek is located on the
border of two geographical and
historical regions – Kujawy and
the Dobrzyn region. Włocławek
lies on the Vistula River, the
queen of Polish rivers. That is
why, there are a lot of tourist
attractions near my town. For
example, there are not only the
forests and many lakes but also
some lovely little towns with
beautiful landscapes: Wieniec
Zdrój, Ciechocinek.

3. The town’s history
Włocławek is one of the oldest
towns in Poland. It was very
important centre of trade in the
past and the place of the seat of
the bishop of Kujawy. During the
First and the Second World War
my town was destroyed by the
Germans. However, Włocławek
was rebuilt and now we can
admire a lot of beautiful places
and old monuments.

8. In the centre of my town
there is the Liberty square
with a monument devoted to
the soldiers who died in the
war. This is a place where
inhabitants of Włocławek rest
during the sunny days.

9. This is a cinema centre with
six cinema halls. Many
people like spending their
free time here especially at
the weekends.

10. This is the design for the new simming pool. I belive that it will
be one of the most attractive places in my town.
