Judicial review in Turkey refers to the adjudication of the constitutionality of statutes and actions by the legislative, executive, and administrative branches. The Constitutional Court of Turkey conducts judicial review. According to the constitution, judges are independent and must make decisions based on the constitution and laws, not orders from other bodies. Administrative judicial review is available for all administrative actions and decisions, except some military promotion decisions. The judicial power is limited to reviewing the legality rather than expediency of administrative acts. There is a time limit to file lawsuits and courts can suspend implementation of decisions under review.
