Judaism originated in Southwest Asia around 1800 BCE. It began with Abraham and Sarah, the first people to worship Yahweh (God). Jews believe they are descended from Abraham and Sarah. The Jewish holy book is the Torah, which contains laws given to Moses by God. Important sites include Jerusalem, believed to be the holiest city, and the Western Wall, which is one of the most sacred sites in Judaism.
