The approach involves involving social and religious leaders to propose that survival comes before religion or beliefs. It also utilizes local government support, multi-media, and educating mothers and communities through mother support groups, partnerships between midwives and traditional birth attendants, and integrated postnatal care home visits by midwives. Examples provided focus on addressing sensitive cultural issues around immunization, family planning, and traditional practices through community education.
