TASO Uganda provides psychosocial support to children and households affected by nodding disease in Gulu District. They conducted a mixed methods study of their psychosocial support activities, assessing 50 households using tools to evaluate efforts to restore normalcy. Their interventions including food security, education support, home visits and caregiver training helped ensure child well-being. However, future interventions require sustainability, such as training households to manage micronutrient deficiencies and health workers in malnutrition management.
