Over 16 years clinical experience as a hospitalist in both private and academic settings for large
tertiary care urban hospitals. I have had numerous leadership and teaching roles with extensive
clinical and non-clinical experience working with physicians, physician assistants, nurse
practitioners, fellows, students, hospital and national company administrations. Currently, I have
responsibility for one of the largest hospitalist groups in the country at an urban 800-bed Level 1
Trauma Center and tertiary care hospital with one of the busiest emergency departments in the
state of Ohio.

-instituted multi-disciplinary rounds on hospital-wide scale
-helped improve several hospital-wide initiatives including:
Reduced LOS for inpatient and observation

Expedited patient flow thru the busiest ED in the state

Reduction in hospital wide telemetry use

-grew hospitalist FTEs from 40 to over 50 currently
-expanded hospitalist services covered to currently over 80% of med/ surg
-doubled hospitalist Advanced Practice Providers from 7 to over 15

-developed software to equalize hospitalist workloads and publicize
hospital-wide of 34 hospitalists/ 7 APPs daily.
-developed vacation bank to improve physician satisfaction of large

2. 2005- 2012 Program Medical Director, Ohio State Univ Hospitals East (Columbus, OH)

- closed ICU to the hospitalist group
- reduced central line infections (1 infection in 2 years & counting)
-implement and lead multi-disciplinary ICU rounds

-strongly improved LOS, HCAP, core measure and CMI scores
responsible for teaching/maintaining competence for hospitalists in
ACLS, intubations, central lines, lumbar punctures, etc.

Successfully launched CPOE and then EMR at 200 bed hospital
