Profile
I have been working in retail/hospitality for seven years, so I know how important it is to give good
customer service. In my line of work, I deal with customers on a daily basis.
In my current role, at The Hilton Hotel, I have been a supervisor for three months; I have learnt to deal
with hospitality requirements and customer complaints in a professional manner. As supervisor, I am in
charge of training new and current members of staff and I also take part in the recruitment process. I am
also trained as a proffesional cocktail masterclass teacher.
I have a keen eye for sales; I find the process of selling an item to a customer very exciting and I am
mostly successful in my sales. I also enjoy being an inventor; I have created two cocktails that are now
favorites on the cocktail menu, which covers nine bars across the country.
Additionally, I qualified in 2011 as a professional swimming coach and have since then taught children
aged between 3 and 8, how to swim.
Experience
Hilton Hotel March 2015- Present
Food and Beverage Supervisor
In the past three months whilst working for the Hilton I have experienced a different side of hospitality and
customer service. I have learnt how to run a restaurant and a bar in a busy environment, I have also
taken part in the running of weddings and events making sure they run smoothly. One of my main duties
is to cash up the money that was taken from the bar and restaurant on a daily basis and be highly
involved with staff training and deciding potential internal candidates for promotion.
Rift&Co, Swindon November 2012 – March 2015
Bar Supervisor
I have good communication skills and consider myself a people person. I have gained vast experience of
working in a team, through school and my past and present job roles. I believe I am an approachable and
friendly person, because I am currently seen as the go to guy when there's a problem in my current job.
My biggest achievement has to be creating the two cocktails and having them acknowledged as my own
creations. I also believe it was a great achievement working my way up to the position I currently hold
now, from starting at the bottom at Rift&Co as a glass collector and within a year being promoted twice to
the role of Bar Supervisor.
Copy Color, Swindon November 2011 – September 2012
Print Finisher
As a print finisher, I was in charge of printing customer’s artwork and giving then their desired finish, for
example, a leaflet. I was trained in wire binding, mounting, sealing, creasing, booklet making,
encapsulating, printing and trimming.
Swim Safe UK, Swindon January 2011 – November 2012
Swimming Teacher
In my role at Swim Safe UK, I was employed as a Level 1 Swimming Teacher. I was responsible for up to
seven children at a time and teaching them to be water confident and eventually how to swim.
Tesco, Swindon July 2008 – April 2011
Customer Assistant
This was my first job, fresh out of school I started off on the checkouts, scanning the customer's
shopping. I later expanded my knowledge by being introduced to other roles such as the petrol station,
when I eventually became eighteen. It was my self and one other person in charge of running the
forecourt. I had to authorise the sale of petrol, cash the money up at the end of shift and abide by the law
when it comes to the sale of cigarettes and the lottery. The most important thing I gained while at Tesco,
was the importance of giving excellent customer service and how to achieve this, through effective
communication and listening to their needs.
