experience in the past, and enjoyed it I felt that I should go for this job role for
the duration of the winter season. My role was to set up the bar when we
arrived, ensure that the bar was stocked sufficiently, making sure that the bar
area, either the area I am working or the area where guests will be sated are

2. clean and that all cash handling was done to the brands standard. At the end
of the season I had to do a deep clean of the entire bar area making certain
that there was no rubbish or left over stock that was wasted so the company
didn’t lose any money.

Rooms Shift Leader - This was a promotion for me from working on reception.
This job requires me to be a shift leader of four departments. Front Desk,
Housekeeping, Night Shifts and Concierge. My job role is mainly on front desk
but I am required to work in each department when necessary. My role in
Front Desk is to check people in and out of the hotel and deal with customer
enquiries face to face or via email. In housekeeping I am required to clean
rooms, check that rooms are clean and be a linen porter. On a night shift i am
given a task list in which reports have to be printed and actioned accordingly.
This is to ensure that everything on our computer system relates to what is
going on the hotel.

Front Desk Associate - I heard about this job through a friend of mine and as
soon as they told me I immediately applied for this job. The reason i was so
enthusiastic about this job role was the opportunity that came with it and that I

with the general public on a daily basis was something I loved. Within this job
comes great responsibility and independence. I feel I have the capability to

Bar & Waiter - I took this job because I had never done anything like this
before. I was influenced to go into this industry by my friends who did this
while they were at university. I had always wanted to know what it was like to
be behind a bar and serving people food. I really enjoyed this job as i am a
people person and where I had been in the building trade for the last few
years it was a massive change for me. I knew that this was a short term job
for me when I got it because I am ambitious and I want to succeed in
whatever job I did, but I didn’t feel it was going to be behind a bar.

Painter & Decorator - My duties included - Decorating new flats and
apartments ready for inspection before being sold to members of the public. I
have to follow strict Health & Safety Rules and be able to recognize different
substances and know how to handle each type. I have to interact with the
public in so much that if they’re not happy with the décor I am the first point of
contact to solve the problem.
Interests & Hobbies
Football, cars, badminton, travelling, holidays, fitness, socializing, music,
meeting new people.
I also belonged to a dance company called Fuzzy Logic, where I was a
member for 5 years. This has helped me greatly with my self-confidence, my
