Network planner
Job role includes completing BAU surveys for the Vodafone contract, designing and issuing wayleave
documents where required, putting the costs together to complete the planning pack then issuing to
operations to proceed with the build program. As well as working on the Vodafone contract I have also
worked on project lightening for Virgin Media and have been trained on the planning systems they use in
house. As well as BAU works for Vodafone I also have experience on cell sites, projects and large DIV
work schemes.

Cable & Wireless were brought by Vodafone so the job was moved over.
Over the last six months I have been based within a BAU team.
Roles within that team include Validation of new orders, issuing out information for the supply chain to
complete surveys and planning packs as well as managing the existing North East work load while
supporting London and the rest of the UK where possible.

External planning Engineer
Received a promotion through Atkins which included a move to Leeds to Train as an External
Planning engineer, the role included completing customer surveys for new and existing fibre routes and
circuits, completing C4 costings for any diversionary works schemes that come into the North East area.
Dealing with any new build projects for network build or maintenance purposes when required.
As well as completing surveys for the various types of work listed above I would also be responsible for
designing and issuing a wayleave document where required, putting the costs together to send out to the
supply chain, Issuing a full planning pack instructing them how to complete the required works.
Also I would engage the relevant people right up to receipt of the test results so taking an almost PM role
on as well as planning the initial build. Examples of larger projects I was involved in can be obtained.

Working as part of the OSM Bristol based team helping to deliver new and existing customer circuits for
Cable & Wireless. Roles included identifying and issuing out fibre proves for the planners Jobs,
completing desktop costings to see if new customers would fit within the price model at the time and
