2. Employment History
Dec 2014 – Present – Piping foreman – MonArb Project- Leman Uptime
Compression Project – Amec
The Monarb project comprised of the following, installation of Cetco
skid and associated pipework pre commissioning scope including
finalising GOC and all joint integrity.
Duties raise permits, update flange register, workpacks as per GOC
requirements.
On the Leman project we were commissioning a new module/jacket. My
duties included aligning the nozzles on the HP and LP suction and
discharge lines working to a 0.06mm tolerance. I would also raise
permits, help Halliburton’s to update their flange register and do a
final line walk prior to leak test. I was also going through work-
packs and signing off ITR’s, outstanding work scopes and finally
signing these off as complete
Feb 2014 – October 2014 – piping foreman - Douglas– PD&MS
Piping foreman for 3 squads of men including platers and riggers.
I would take out permits in the morning making sure correct paperwork
as in place, do the toolbox talk, then I would take the men to the
worksite. I would then tie in with the GF or OCS to look at future
work scopes. I would also go onto the computer and look for drawings
for the men or for future work scopes or for a shipment of spools and
valves etc to take an inventory of what had arrived.
October 2012 – Dec 2013 – Piping Supervisor – Chiswick/ QA Vanguard
SLP
Night shift supervisor in charge of a small squad of pipefitters,
plater’s and riggers. On Chiswick we were removing and replacing
spools on on an unmanned satellite. On Vanguard we were removing and
replacing a helideck firstly fitting bracing steel then removing
associated pipework. The new helideck was lowered on and re-instated
including new stairwells. My duties included, firstly being in the
office assisting with making up work packs to NORMS. Once offshore,
writing permits, writing daily reports and handovers between shifts,
liaising with other trades, organising work for my shift, then co-
ordinating the work and making sure it was done safely and as stated
in the permit .
January 2012 – Sept – Piping Supervisor – YME Project SBM - Norway
Night shift supervisor taking control of pipe fitters, welders MPI
and NDT crews. Liaising with onshore support for locating spools and
valves. The first 4 months were spent in the office making work
packs, using the available NORMS for eventual line walking offshore.
Once offshore, I had to write out permits for hot and cold work,for
repairs, also for new work. Line walking was undertaken to sign off
job cards. I had to writedailly reports handovers for between
shifts, and report any problems encountered to shift superintendant
I also had to liaise with QA,Qc for any weld repairs. I also
attended safety meetings and then had to emphasise exactly what was
to be done as I had a squad of Norwegian tradesmen.
August 2011 – December – pipe fitter PSN Heather
Working on the rig regeneration project, work was in the mud pits
replacing valves and deck plating.

3. April 2011 – July – Piping supervisor – BP Skarv project – Norway
Night shift piping supervisor in charge of the turret area. Also
acting as area tech; shift supervisor for topsides, signing on
permits, checking job site, making sure permits were being adhered
to. In charge of a multi national team of around 40 men, making sure
work force understood and carried out their allocated tasks to a high
standard of safety and workmanship. Also liaising with foremen and
engineers of all disciplines. Work scope included deciding if
existing spools needed altered; if so, then sending for bombing and
pressure test. Ultimately getting the turret ready for leak testing.
I was then expected to line walk with the nitrogen testing squad to
ensure the system and pertaining subsystems were ready and safe to
test. I would also write handovers, sometimes staying behind and
going back on the job if there had been a problem, or tieing in with
the piping engineer or construction manager.
May 2010 – January 2011 – Wood group – Working on the Cormorrant
north, Alpha and the Tern.
The client was Taqa an Arabian oil company. Mainly shutdown and
maintenance work. Working in the well heads replacing high pressure
lines using graylock fittings and quick flange. Duties included
liaising with ops and walking lines checking isolations. Measuring
and cold cutting penetrations, defunct pipework, supports etc.
March 2010 – April 2010 – Bi Fab Burntisland – Working foreman Valhal
upgrade project. In charge of 8 men on pressure testing, walking
lines using p& id’s and iso’s. Checking test limits were in place,
fitting tapped blinds and spades ready for test. Testing up to 300
barg, then reinstating pipework and torquing.
August 2009 – December 2009 – Aker Solutions piping charge hand–
Dunlin project.
As a piping charge hand, duties include liaising with OCS, area
authorities and other disciplines. Taking control of a couple of
small work parties. In the office reading through work packs for
relevant information. Also hands on working on 8” lines fitting
double block and bleed valves, instrument tubing, erecting unistrut,
reading hookup drawings etc.
June 2009 – August 2009 - PSN – Working on the Ninian Central and
South platforms. This was a shutdown. Duties included pressure
testing, destruction and construction, line walking. Reading p&id’s
and iso’s for the line walking. Establishing where test limits were
according to the drawings, also turning spec blinds, removing
spades,orifice plates etc. While line walkig i also cross referenced
details of shoes and guides to numbers on the iso’s.
April 2009 - Aker Solutions – Working on the Scott shutdown duties
included pressure testing to 570 barg, cutting and prepping 12” super
duplex pipe, fitting graylock hubs and rings. Line walking for
pressure pressure test limits, and also checking valves removed.
Also using p&id’s and iso’s to make sure correct guides, shoes and
bolts were fitted.
January 2009 – April 2009 Cedar Kirk Ltd – piping supervisor - Irvine
Paper mill. Assisting the engineers to make up work packs as per piping norms.

4. In charge of 6 men, replacing pumps and valves. Also replacing redundant pipe
spools as per drawings.
Nov 2008 - Jan 2009 – Apol divex – Working on instrument pipework
at Divex in Aberdeen. Bending instrument tubing from 6mm – 25mm,
working on diving bells for subsea 7. Working on panels that were
carrying oxygen for divers. Instrument testing up to 525 barg.
June 2007 – Oct 2008 - Aker Solutions – Working on the Bleo Holm,
duties include reading p&id’s and iso’s, rerouting pipe in slops
tanks, cold cutting pipe, replacing corroded pipework, gaskets and
bolts. Line walking before, during and after pressure tests, also
making sure limits were in correct place.
Worked in the present shutdown for a 5 week period.
Reading hook up drawings for instrument pipe-work, assembling
unistrut, setting out stauff clamps.
Jan 2007 - April 2007 – McEvoy engineering Ltd – piping foreman
managing a small team of five men. This was for a small local
company. Over seeing the removal and replacement of presses used for
making plastic crates, also some structural work, new lifting beams
for the next time the presses are removed.
July 2006 – Jan 2007 – Aker Kvaerner – Working on the MCP01, Bleo
Holm, Gryphon and Janice platforms. MCP01 was the first time a rig
had been stripped down in British waters. Norwegians who had done
ran this type of work before; it basically just involved a lot of
burning and working safely. Bluo Holm was an oil tank that was being
turned into a slops tank; we were fitting 10” pipes up the side of
the tank which was around 70’ deep. Janice and Gryphon were just
shutdowns. Renewing old pipes, fitting supports.
February 2006 – July – PETROFAC – Working on the Brae A on the Ospar
project. While we were waiting for the job to start properly we
worked on maintenance jobs. The Ospar was a new package for
processed water.
January 2006 - AKER KVAERNER – I was working on the AH001 which was a
semi submersible. We were working on a mini shutdown; the rest of
the work was to be undertaken later in the year. The usual duties,
removing spools,torquing,reading,drawings, pressure testing, line
walking etc.
September 2005 – December - WOOD GROUP - Working on
The Schehallion FPSO for BP. Duties include: reading
p&id’s taking bolts and gaskets to the work sites in
preparation for the shutdown. Once the shutdown
started I was replacing old bolts/pipework, bending
some instrument pipework, replacing gaskets on
pipework which hadn’t passed leak tests. Pressure testing, and
walking lines checking test limits were in place.
June 2005 – September - PSL – Working piping foreman Armada
shutdown for British Gas. In charge of 10 men; reading
drawings iso’s, p &id’s. Taking men to jobs, then marking pipes that
were

5. to be cut so that the cold cutting team could come
behind us. Also hot bolting, dismantling pipe work
and installing pipework. Also helped the instrument
pipe fitters by setting out stove clamps; and helping
with some tray work.
March 2005 – June - WOODGROUP - Working at Sullom Voe
in the Sheltland Isles. Working in the oil terminal as
a pipefitter. Duties include: Cold cutting pipe using
lock ring fittings and hot bolting. Also Reading
drawings.
February 2005 – J. MCEVOY & SONS LTD – Working piping foreman
Anaplast in Greenock. In charge of a small team of 4 men taking out a
10 tonne mould and
injection unit, removing and replacing water cooling
loops, then replacing with a new mould.
September 2004 – December - PETROFAC - Working on the
Ninian Northern platform 3 week shutdown, and then 2
week shutdown on water injection system. Duties
included reading drawings, pressure testing, hot
bolting and then re-bolting pipework. Also liaising
with Hedley Purvis and torquing.
July 2004 – Sept – AKER KVAERNER – Working on the
Haweanae Brim. Testing steam coils to the oil storage
tanks. Also on the Gryphon A cutting out 10” flexi
pipe in the turret, all pre shutdown work.
June 2004 – July - SHAWS - Bechtel shutdown Spalding
– Making supports, taking out and replacing 24”
spargers in the main vent feeding to the fin fans.
Replacing pipework.
February 2004 - July - AMEC – Bonga project Nigeria
(pipe fitter) – Assisting the engineers to make up work packs as per
piping norms, walking lines pre and post construction, making up
punch lists, carrying out risk assessments and identifying work
scopes. Also reading isos, p&id’s and instrument hook up drawings.
January 2003 – Nov 2003 - FABRICOM - Pulrose
Powerstation, Isle of Man/Hull BP Saltend -
Pipefitter) - Required to measure and cut pipe; set
up butts and read drawings. The Hull job was called
the SLEU project. Duties were the same as IOM.
August 2002- Jan 2003 - AME Plumbing & Heating
Plumber) - I worked on various sites, including
garden centres; and new builds. In the garden centres
we fitted under floor heating for a company called
Rehau.

being built. I was the stand in foreman for 1 month;
my duties were laying out and then doing all the main
pipe runs in the attic space, in both iron and copper
up to 2". I also did the plastic drainage.

Pipefitter) - Working on the vitamin c refurbishment.
Duties included reading Drawings; construction;
punching for test; preparing for test and final punching.

drawings; removing and replacing valves,
construction; and testing pipework.

toread P&ID’s and iso’s to find the relevant pipework
to be tested; then testing them.

7. worked for British Gas; reading drawings, taking out
faulty- valves and replacing them. At ICI involved in
working on shutdown on the Arcton 22 plant with
chemicals which required the use of the full
protective clothing, stripping out and replacing
vessels and pipework. On St. Fergus involved in
working on an extension being built for the pipeline
form the Britannia Platform; reading drawings, cutting
and prepping heavywall pipe, bolting up etc.
Nov 1996 - February 1997 - EASY HEAT Ardrossan
(Plumbing & Heating Engineer) - This job involved the
installation of domestic heating, back boilers,
attics, changing over water mains, gas etc.
July 1996 - October 1996 - AOC ALBA NORTHERN and
FULMER (Shut Downs - Pipefitter) - On the Alba
Northern we worked in a gas injection module. Duties
included; reading Drawing, cutting, prepping pipe and
braising pipe, in the H Vac room.
May 1996 - July 1996 - PETROLOGY Tjeldbergodden Norway
Pipefitter) - This job was a methanol plant being
built for Statoil by Kvaerner. Petrology supplied the
labour, my duties included my own rigging, reading
drawings and construction.
February 1996 - March 1996 - BABCOCK Grangemouth
Pipefitter) - Employed on shut down at oil refinery,
reading drawings, measuring and cutting pipes etc.
February 1995 - October 1995 - AOC INTERNATIONAL -
Point of Ayr (Pipefitter) - I was required to measure
and cut pipe; set up butts , read drawings and
pressure test
June 1994 - September 1994 - ECG MECHANICAL SERVICES
(Plumbing & Heating Engineer) - Based at Kilmarnock
College and Mothercare (Glasgow) At Kilmarnock we
fitted a new heating system into the existing one
using a mild steel pipe which was crimped together
using a special gun. Mother care opened a new store
and our contract was for 3-4 weeks. My duties were
fitting pumped W.C.s and basins, 4” wastes and running
copper pipe work.
March 1993 - December 1993 - ALBA NORTHERN HOOK UP /
Forties Shutdown - Aberdeen (Pipefitter) - On the
forties job we stripped out the old oil line and
replaced it with new pipework which was already made
up ready for the job. On the Alba I was involved in
construction, pressure testing and punch listing. I
also worked on the sprinkler and deluge systems-
screwed pipe and cunifer, using back welded sprinkler
nozzles and frangible bulbs.
March 1992 - December 1992 - AOC INTERNATIONAL -
Aberdeen / Piper B (Pipefitter) - Jobs included
construction, pressure testing and punch lists. Also
