Market Risk Analyst
This position reports to the Head of Middle Office - The jobholder will join a team of 7 people.
Your main responsibilities :

• Production of daily VAR numbers for global books, paper and physical.
• Analysing daily variation in VAR levels at book and global level.
• Working with traders to explain VAR moves and testing VAR on new strategies.
• Support the development of new risk metrics such as stress testing, and non-linear VAR (options).

Your profile:
This role is suitable for a junior market risk analyst looking to take the next step in their career and take on greater responsibilities, or a middle officer
with several years experience supporting market risk activities and working with VAR.
• 1-2 years' experience in a market risk OR several years' experience in a Middle Office role that has involved working with VAR and supporting
market risk activities.
• Worked extensively with historical VAR and comfortable performing manual VAR calculations to validate results.
• Experience in dealing directly with traders, and proven ability to manage challenging discussions.
• Experience of transferring pricing exposure between paper and physical books.
• Awareness of how VAR limits and PnL targets are defined, and how performance is assessed.
• Fluent in English.

Main responsibilities

• Interpret charter party agreements, contracts and letter of credits to ensure the terms and conditions are acceptable and LC terms are
workable.
• Fully execute the charter-party agreement such as: nominating agents, preparing the stowage plan, paying the freight, laytime calculation and
freight finalization with owners.
• Maintain frequent customer contact both internal and external helping foresee opportunities and risks.
• Co-ordinate with independent surveyors for preload & loading inspection, ensure accurate and prompt issuance of surveyor's reports.
• Ensure prompt shipping instructions to forwarders prior to vessels arrival.
• Co-ordinate with load port agent for quick turnaround of shipping documents and liaise with agents for vessel's prospect upon sailing.

Qualifications
• 3 - 5 years experience in execution
• Written and spoken Russian language in addition to English is a plus

• Practical knowledge of letter of credit - UCP rules & ISBP, its terms and differences.
• Some knowledge of shipping practices eg C/P terms and its relation to sales/purchase of contracts, laytime calculations, C/P B/L
requirements, etc including insurance classifications.
• Able to prepare full set of shipping documents in accordance with L/C and contractual requirements.

The European Nat Gas Strategist will support the build out of the Global LNG and European Nat Gas Portfolio with detailed economic analysis of
European markets. The role will be responsible for mapping the European gas flows and the pricing relationships between the main Gas Hubs and oil
indices. The role will ensure the data analysis and will be seen as the advisor of current and future trading opportunities.
Your main responsibilities will include
• Dynamic analysis of global and regional supply/demand balances, gas flows and storage levels within Europe
• Set up the information flows to assist Trading and Origination
• Setup stacking model for European Nat Gas
• Assist the build of models available on Nat Gas Traders desk for vanilla standard transactions of storage, swing, pipes and indexation.
• Advise on current and future pipe, swing and storage Trading opportunities to ensure tracking and strategizing spot arbitrage across various
locations for pipe nat gas and oil related formulas while developing optimization and trading strategies.
• Attend ad-hoc requests on market data, information and fundamental analysis
• Provide views on all relevant indicators such as summer-winter spreads, levels of the spark and dark spreads across Europe, fuel switching
levels, etc.
