Green Building
Green building is also known as Green construction or Sustainable building.
It design considers:
 Location near existing services.
 Naturallighting and solar energy.
 Excellentindoor air quality.
 Reduced or recycled content building materials.
 Green or vegetated roofs, walls and indoors.
It is responsible to keepbuilding healthy, sustainable communities for
our future.

Skyscrapers
A Skyscraper refers to a building that gently touches the sky.
It means a very tall multistoried building.
It refers the high-rises of more than 40 – 50 stories.
It consist of a substructure supported by a deep foundation of piles beneath
the ground, and superstructure above the ground consisting of columns and
girders, and a curtain wallhung on the structural framework.

Green Skyscraper
A skyscraper having
features of green
building is known as
Green Skyscraper .

Why Green Skyscraper???
Ensurea healthy, productive indoor environmentfor
occupants to work andlive.
Preventnegativeimpacts to our environmentand improve its
health.
Reducingoperating cost and increase profitability for building
owners throughenergyand resource conservation.

Examples
The green roof can reduce upto 50% of cooling
load.
The green wall can reduce 10 degree centigrade
indoor temperature.
The biofilter and indoor plants can purifies
indoor air by 50% to 60%.
3/11/2016 Green Skyscraper 8
There are four possible options for provision of
integrate plants in Skyscraper
Green Roof
Green Wall
Biofilters
Indoor plantation

Green Roof
Theterm "green roof" is generally used to represent an
innovativeyet established approach to urban design thatuses
living materialsto makethe urban environment more livable,
efficient,and sustainable.
Other common terms used to describe thisapproach are eco
roofs, and vegetated roofs.

Green Wall
The green facade is the outer wall which can be
free-standing or part of a building, partially or
completely covered with vegetation and in some
cases, soil or an inorganic growing medium.

Biofilters in Green Skyscrapers
Biofiltration is a pollution
control techniqueusing
living materialto capture
and biologically degrade
process pollutants

Bio-filter

Indoor Planting
The mainreason is, indoor plants lookattractive ,people get
charmed by the gracefularch of palm leaves or the exoticbeauty
of orchids.

Thebuilding is11 stories tall, 220feet abovestreet level, andcovers 38,000squarefeet.

Example
In Milan,Italya new kindof
skyscraperisunder
construction. Once complete
laterthisyear, the two-building
project willbe covered in
greenery,an effectthat gives
the buildingstheirname: Bosco
Verticale,or Vertical Forest.
3/11/2016 Green Skyscraper 20
Conclusion
Results are the noticeable decrease in urban
heat island, rapid reduction of energy
consumption and cost, refreshing air for a
healthy environment.
