JOB DESCRIPTION / MARKETING & E-COMMERCE EXECUTIVE
1. JOB PURPOSE
To support the Country Manager in the development, planning and implementation of all marketing
& e-commerce sales activities, so as to drive revenue and grow loyalty of all QR products from all
distribution channels and targeted audiences as defined in the annual Marketing Plan.
Directly contributes to the delivery of the market revenue target by assisting in the development and
implementation of the marketing strategy and the e-sales plan that targets existing and new
markets.
2. ACCOUNTABILITIES
Marketing & PR
 Support Country Manager to plan according to Head Office and Regional Office guidelines
the annual Marketing Plan for Station within the assigned budget to enhance the product
position and to meet revenue objectives.
 Support in the development of target-oriented company based on customer segmentation
and market intelligence.
 Source and share market research insight and trends that will improve the quality of the
campaigns delivered in the region.
 Ongoing measurement and optimization of all marketing budget spend to ensure objectives
are being met.
 Observe and comply with all procurement, finance and contractual policies and procedures
to ensure the region is compliant with company requirements.
 Work with Finance to un sure suppliers are paid on time expenses are being accrued.
 Ensure brand, messaging, style and tone consistency is always maintained.
 Assist in developing all marketing artwork and messaging with the support of Regional
Marketing Manager and Head Office.
 Propose and contribute in developing and executing new and innovative initiatives.
 Assist to deliver events and exhibitions to the required QR standard.
 Respond to all communications in a timely manner.
 Deliver ongoing and timely reports requested by Country Manager and Regional Marketing
Manager.
 Ensure post activity and campaign evaluations are producedidentifying effectiveness of
activity and quantitative ROI.
 Support to evaluate sponsorship proposals for and submit to Regional Marketing Manager.
 Source and develop marketing collateral and merchandise as per QR guidelines.
 Monitor promotional/giveaways/collaterals stock
 Launch press release/newsletters focusing on major QR developments (local/global).
 Support to develop and execute integrated PR campaigns as well as new and innovative PR
opportunities and stories.
E-Commerce
 Contribute in achieving the qatarairways.com revenue, share (penetration), online check-in
(OLCI) penetration, conversion and B2C E-newsletter subscribers database targets for the
country.
 Contribute in developing and implementing an E-sales plan for the country with the support
of Country Manager and Regional Direct Sales Manager.
 Optimal and effective use of the online and E-marketing budget to meet E-commerce KPIs
for the country| Identify initiate and assist to implement online marketing initiatives,
partnerships, direct response campaigns and online communication plans to attract quality
traffic to qatarairways.com, leading to increased sales conversion through Pay Per Click
(PPC) Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Display
Advertising E-mail Marketing, Affiliates Marketing and Social Media Marketing.
 Design and implement activities to grow B2C E-newsletter subscribers` database.
 Contribute in maintaining high visibility on QR social media properties by regularly posting
engaging content such as local and global offers, contests and competitions targeting local
fans to increase affinity and sales conversion.
 Liaison with HQ E-Commerce perform E-Commerce Brief preparation submission and
coordinate delivery of digital assets (banners, E-newsletters, etc.)
 Assist to manage local language translation of IBE applications, website content and online
assets (E-newsletters, SEM ads, display banners, promo landing pages, etc.)
 Perform quality checks and handle IBE pricing issues such as verification of correct fare
family mapping correct filing of online fares and/or discounts.
 Update and maintain the local website in line with E-commerce and Marketing guidelines.
 Track and evaluate the effectiveness of online campaigns. Analyze web traffic statistics and
ROI of all marketing campaigns; compile regular and ad-hoc reports to senior management
on site & customer behaviors and campaign impact.
Development
 Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise.
 Other duties and responsibilities as requested by Management.
3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Qualifications:
Essential
 Bachelor’s degree
 Minimum College, preferably University degree in Tourism/Aviation Field – Marketing
oriented.
 PC literate (word/excel/PowerPoint) QR main applications (Amadeus/LARS/TeamSite/
Qsales)
Previous Experience:
Essential
 Experienced – minimum 3 years of job-related experience required
 2+ years experience in airline industry preferably with Marketing knowledge and 3+ years of
Customer Care experience
Job Specific Skills:
Essential:
 Sound knowledge of travel industry, business acumen
 Excellent Command of written and spoken English
 Strong negotiations/problem solving skills
 Efficient strategy planning and time management skills
 Familiar with Qatar Airways product, image, vision of company, operational procedures
 Ability to communicate the assets of QR products/services
 Presentation skills

  • 1. JOB DESCRIPTION / MARKETING & E-COMMERCE EXECUTIVE 1.
