1. The document summarizes research on the Empty Homes Community Grants Programme (EHCGP) in the UK from 2011-2015. The programme provided £50 million in funding to community-led, non-registered housing providers to purchase and refurbish empty homes.
2. It finds that the programme was successful in bringing over 4,000 empty homes back into use and had wider social benefits like providing employment, training opportunities and affordable housing. Groups that received funding were able to leverage additional funding and grow as organizations.
3. The research argues that continued public funding is needed to support small, locally-focused community groups and encourage wider social impacts. Ring-fencing funds for non-registered providers

Welcome on board and thank you for flying with #StarshipJCI!
Goeden avond, bonsoir, guten Abend and hello everybody.
It‘s a pleasure and an honour for me, to stand here and now in front of you, and to get the chance to present you my general policy plan and my candidature as National President 2015.
First, let‘s have a look to a short movie to get in the mood…
So, thats the topic I‘ve chosen, and all the local presidents who have read the 7 pages my policy plan know more or loss why I‘ve chosen this topic, but still I want to explain it for everybody and in a slightly different way
So, WHY I‘ve chosen this thopic? Where does it comes from…
We just have to take a look at the names of the United Star Ships!
So, let‘s see where the nerds are? ;-) Who knows a name of a Star Trek Star Ship?
I gonna help you… ;-)
Because there are many thoughts and links related to it:
USS Discovery: JCI is a perfect tool to discover
Discover the world, other nations and cultures,
To discover new people and opportunities
To discover oneself
And I hope that in 2015 everyone is discovering a little bit more JCI and ist countless opportunities
USS Voyager: we are all voyagers and pioneers in exploring
in our personal development, in our carreer, in our private and social life
We don‘t stay at the same place, we want to evolve, and therefore we are voyaging
USS Enterprise:
we are entrepreneurs
we love to act
we have the spirit to make things happen!
The Starships are breaking new grounds, explore new worlds „boldly go where no man has gone before”.
Let‘s step out of our comfort zone and expand our boundaries (the topic of the WC in Bruxelles):
I like the idea of beeing a crew on a ship, only if we are working together we learn from each other and we can go further.
If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to far, go together
TNG: I‘m born in 1981, so Generation Y is taking over control… ;-)
And last but not least… ;-) I just like the Music and Science Fiction in general
Summarizing all this brings us to my vision
Energy Advisor, making industrial processes more energy-efficient
3-4 characteristics that describes you the best (i.e. 3 positives and 1 point to improve):
Without any doubt my year as president of my local chapter JCI Hasselt. In my 11 years as a member of JCI I believe the year of my presidency is the year I have learned the most valuable lessons… Trying to be a perfect mother, an ideal partner, a classy career-woman AND taking the leading role in one of the biggest and most active Chapters of Belgium was a challenge from time to time, but I am so happy to have made that decision. It has given me so much in return ! Forever grateful for the many experiences and opportunities JCI gave me in general.
Birthday a snowy day… I hate the snow !
The sexiest job on the world – let’s say secret agent (or not…) – SPF Finances
