Achievement summary during 2017: start with intro about IT department and how they are trying to support the company and making their work very efficiently and effectively by implementing these system and then listed these system
In 2017 we used three system:
1- Q-time: the attendance system and install biometric devices in most of the work location and al of them are connecting to our network router.
by implementing this system, this help the employee to make permission, apply for vacation from the website and his/ her managers will approve and will reflect in the time sheet report .no need to send email to HR or to their managers , it saving time and smooth the process.
Also, it helps HR team to process timesheet in a very easy way and it will not take time from them like before as they doing it manually.
Us as an IT department we worked so hard to implement this system and enforce the HR requirements. during this project we had many meetings with the developers to make sure that they understood HR requirements
2-EDGE HRMS: We have been starting a new HRMS instead of the old system. old system was a server based but this is a web based and we can access from anywhere and anytime. for payroll and started this project in May 2017, we go live in sep 2017. in this system, hr can add new employees, change PAF, close PAF, and leave application . we have just implemented the workflow process for some feature and that’s will help us to minimize the paper and get management approval very quick regardless where are they as they can enter and approve the vacation and other activities that required their approval.
3- vehicle Fleet Management System: explain this system it is a company vehicle tracking system.
4- Ticketing system: we have been started using ticketing system to support employees and handle their request in very smooth way. ( spicework) write about this and the feature. how it works.
this is also helping us to measure the performance of the departments by generating a monthly report and check how many tickets did we close and what was the request and who was handling this from IT department. Also, monthly report will be shared with our manager to check IT department performance
Something we do not do it now as department but we are going to do in 2018:
1- documented everything as department each stff of IT department has to documented evry process and procdure he is doing and make it available in the server so every one of the team will have access and see what happened. in case of some one is absent it easy for us to know what he is doing and complete his work rather than asking him about the password or how to do this. everything will be documented. such as how to install windows from th scratch, how to restore a laptop, how to configure IP phones and etc. this will help us to reduce dependency on one employee to do the task. all staff should know how to do department tasks.
2- clear the IT payment every mo.

Microsoft Word was introduced in 1983 and allows users to type and save documents on personal computers and mobile devices. It has tools to help format text and create documents like letters, reports, and emails. Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program introduced for Windows and Mac systems. It uses a grid of cells organized in rows and columns to manipulate data through arithmetic functions and create charts, graphs, and pivot tables to analyze information. Both programs are part of the Microsoft Office suite and allow advanced formatting and analysis of documents and data.
This document contains answers to three questions about software and document composition. It defines software and describes the main categories of application software and system software. It provides examples of different types of software like driver software, middleware, and programming software. It explains how application software and system software work differently, with application software requiring an operating system to run, while web applications only need internet access. It also outlines the software design and implementation process, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance phases.
Types of semiconductor memory include RAM and ROM. RAM allows reading and writing data in any order and is used for short-term storage like computer memory. ROM is used where data needs to be permanently stored even without power, like firmware.

Computer Hardware And Software Types, Functions, Difference between Hardware ...sunil shukla
Computer Software
We are already aware that computers need instructions to carry out the tasks, and they cannot perform themselves without any instructions.
When instructions are given to computers in a manner that computers can understand them and execute those instructions accordingly.
Such instructions to carry out certain tasks or tasks that are predesigned when made available in a computer-readable format are called programs. Such programs are called computer software.
This software can be stored in secondary storage devices such as (hard disks, cd-rom, etc) and make use of them as and when required.
Software is a set of programs that can be stored on a medium that is used to get the job done.
It plays an important and crucial role in all computer systems by creating a connection or bridge between the user and computer hardware.
The software needs to be checked before being used. There are some terms that are used for the process of accessing software including starting, executing, running, opening, and others.
Computer Hardware
Let’s understand this in easy language, Hardware is the physical and touchable parts of a computer means you can touch those components.
Internal hardware parts of a computer are known as components and external hardware parts of a computer are called peripherals both of them are known as computer hardware.
In both PCs or desktop computers, the components of hardware are the same but there is a big difference in the size of the hardware.
Computers can only operate or start when both software and hardware are present and work together in the system, there is no chance to start a computer only with software or hardware.
You can enter the operating system by using operating software where hardware helps the operating software to perform fast and easily.
Computers play a major role in scientific research by providing speed, storage, accuracy, organization, and consistency. They are used across all phases of the research process from the conceptual phase of literature reviews and developing hypotheses to the publication phase of writing papers. Various software tools like SPSS help with data analysis and interpretation. Simulation and modeling are also important applications of computers in research. Soft computing techniques like machine learning, genetic algorithms, and neural networks provide approximate solutions to complex problems that are difficult to solve with traditional computing methods.

4. IntroductiontoComputer
A computer is an electronic device-a flexible machine that can manipulate
data. A computer is programmable i.e. the computer depends totally on the
programs which the computer is using. The most widely accepted definition of the
computer includes the following operations:
Input: A computer accepts data provided by means of an input device,
such as keyboard.
Processing: A computer performs operations on the data of data to
transform it in some way.
Output: A computer produces output on a device, such as a printer or
a monitor, which shows the results of processing operations.
Storage: A computer stores the results of processing operations for
future use.
The definition is often referred to as IOPS cycle. The four steps of the
IOPS cycle-input, processing, output, storage-do not have to occur in a rigid IOPS
sequence. Under the direction of a program, a computer uses the steps of this
process when needed and as often as needed.
4
5. Elements of Computer
Computer consist of hardware, the physical parts of the computer, and
software that tells the computer what to do. Processing data into information
involves more elements than just hardware and software. In the computing
process, computer integrates the use of five key elements which are given as
follows:
Hardware: Hardware refers to the physical components of the
computer like keyboard, monitor, mouse etc. These are used for the
input of data and after processing for the output of data.
Software: Users of the computer work on the hardware components.
But without the help of software they cannot manipulate data.
Software is the written programs which helps the users to interact
with the computer. Main and the most important software used in the
computer is the ‘operating system’. It is the software which acts as
the mediator between user and the hardware.
Data: Data is the raw material which does have any specific meaning.
Computer transforms data into information. Information is the
processed data. Data is the input to the processing; information is the
output.
People:Computer requires people, who are called users. Some users
progress beyond the basis of computer literacy. They learn the
advance features of application programs. With this knowledge, the
users can customize an application program for a specific task. These
knowledgeable users are called ‘power users’.
Procedures: Procedures are the steps that one must follow to
accomplish a specific computer-related task.
5
6. Classification of Computer
There are different types of computers available for different uses they
also vary in size, shape, features, price etc. according to uses. Some of them are as
follows:
Supercomputers: These are the largest, fastest, most powerful and
most expensive computers made. These computers can be accessed by
many individual at the same time. These are generally used in the
scientific
laboratories,
for
performing
complex
mathematical
calculations and for other complex functioning.
Mainframes: For input/output operations mainframe computers are
much more suitable then supercomputers. A mainframe computer
system is usually composed of several computers in addition to
mainframe. The capability of mainframe to process multiple programs
concurrently for multiple users is known as multiprogramming.
Minicomputers: The major difference between minicomputer and
mainframes is in scale. Minicomputer can perform same type of task
as mainframe but at a slower rate. Minicomputers are frequently
referred to as mid range computers.
Workstations and microcomputers: These are the computers which
are generally used by end user. Workstations are the powerful
desktop designed to meet the computing needs of the users.
Microcomputers are small in size. These computers help the users to
perform multitasking system which is helpful to them in their works.
Portable computers: These are the type of computers which vary in
its size from using them in our lap known as laptop to using in our palm
known as palmtop. These are small in size and can be taken away from
one place to another easily.

7. Introduction to MS-Word
Microsoft Office has provided us with a number of tools which proves very
useful to us in our day to day workings like ms-excel, ms-access, ms-outlook, msword etc. Among these provided tools one of the tool known as Microsoft Word is
useful for the works like making letters, labels, charts, editing text etc.
The features of Microsoft Word enables us to create our file manipulate
data in it prepare reports on that data save that file. We can also change the font
and its size according to our use. A number of options have been provided by the
ms-word which helps u to look our text better.
The insert ribbon in the ms-word helps us to insert a number of pictures,
charts, auto shapes etc. which help to create our text in more of a clear and an
interesting way. It enables the users to understand the crux of the text very well.
Links have been provided by the ms-office which enables us to link one or more
documents or a number of pages within the same document. Header and footer help
us to provide page numbers or any other notes on top or at the bottom of the page.
It also provides the option of using a variety of texts option like word art which
helps us to get text written in good forms.
The page layout ribbon helps us to set margin, orientation, size etc of the
page. With the help of the page background option we can set color of the page and
border of the page can also be selected. Other functions like left/right indenting
can also be fixed up for the page to provide it a better look. Space between the
lines and words can also be set which gives us better view of the text.
Mail Merge option is one the best option provided by the ms-word. This
option enables us to create a number of same kinds of text with a slight difference
in it. Labels and letter are the example of this option. A required process is to
complete by the user in order to get the preparation of the letter or labels is
done. This option is basically required when the user want to have a number of
same text with a very minor change in it.
Ms-word also provides us with the facility of the spelling and grammar check
which enables the user to know it spelling or grammatical errors in the text. It also
provides us a dictionary like software called thesaurus which gives us the meaning
7
8. of the words and also gives us the synonyms and antonyms of the words. The option
of track changes enables us to mark the changes made in the document in our
absence. We can also protect the document so that any other person could not see
it.
View ribbon helps us to view the document in a number of ways as required
by the user like full screen, outline, draft etc. macros is the function provided to
create the shortcut for the lengthy work done regularly by the users in the
document. It helps us to save time work load.
Ms-word is very useful software for the works which are done on the
frequent basis and with the help of its edit feature we can provide a better view
to our document.
