The helpless anger felt by most caring people at the manner wherein the elderly have been forgotten, questions the very existence of human relations as well as the norms prevailing towards the elders in our society.

Senior citizen homes- a blessing in disguisekananjames
Busy lives and tight schedules have made it difficult to care for elders but the NGOs working toward this cause have made it possible for them to feel worthy of what they are and live the rest of their lives with dignity.
More than 35% of Indians live below the poverty line, with 41% of the world's poor living in India. Many lack adequate nutrition, food, health facilities, and even two meals a day. Supporting charities and NGOs is essential to help the needy and remove this challenge facing India. Donations don't just mean money - one can donate old clothes, books, furniture, and more. These donations help provide training, healthcare, girls' education, and assist the poor. Education is also important for India's growth, but over 70% living in rural areas lack proper school systems, teachers, and income. Providing education and skills development resources can help improve lives in these rural communities.
There are many NGOs in India that offer accommodation and care for the elderly. These organizations depend on donations to operate their programs and services.

Old Age Homes are the Ideal Refuge for the Old People of any SocietyAditya Garg
Old Age Homes are not the ideal refuge for old people according to the speaker. While Old Age Homes provide food, shelter, and medical care, they cannot replace the love and affection that elderly parents deserve from their children. In Indian culture, joint families have traditionally supported aging parents. However, now the concept of nuclear families has led children to forget their duties to their parents and send them to Old Age Homes, which makes the parents sad and lonely. The ideal is for elderly parents to stay with their children and grandchildren who can care for them as they had cared for their children.
NEDRO is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in West Bengal, India that works to help disadvantaged elderly people overcome poverty. Child labor takes a long time to stop, but through patience and hard work organizations like Free the Children help end it. Poverty is the main driver of child labor - it forces children into debt and work to pay it off. Iqbal worked for a year to pay off his father's debt. Freeing children means giving them an education, health, and the chance to be kids instead of workers. If we support groups helping children and raise awareness, we can help end child labor together.
Child labor takes a long time to stop, but through patience and hard work organizations like Free the Children work to help child laborers become free. Poverty is the main driver of child labor, as poor families feel they have no choice but to send their children to work to pay debts. Iqbal's story shows how he was forced to work for a year to pay off his family's debt. Freeing children from labor allows them to experience their childhood, get an education, and have opportunities rather than becoming slaves to debt. Everyone deserves basic needs and a life free from abuse, so supporting organizations that help child laborers is important to achieving the goal of liberating all children.
1) Many children around the world, especially girls in developing countries, have their basic rights denied. They are forced into child labor, marriage, and do not have access to education.
2) Child laborers, especially those making carpets, live in invisible slavery with long work days under harsh conditions. They have no hope for a better future.
3) By raising awareness on social media, fundraising, and sponsoring girls' education, children and adults alike can help advocate for equal rights and an end to practices that deny children their childhood.
This document outlines the goals and strategies of the "Affect n Effect" foundation which aims to reduce poverty in Bangladesh by helping vulnerable groups such as children, women, and victims of child labor. It works with a partner company called Shonar Bangla Exports to fund these programs through ethical trade. The foundation's strategies focus on empowering beneficiaries and creating long-term opportunities through education, skills development, and community partnerships.

This report explores the significance of border towns and spaces for strengthening responses to young people on the move. In particular it explores the linkages of young people to local service centres with the aim of further developing service, protection, and support strategies for migrant children in border areas across the region. The report is based on a small-scale fieldwork study in the border towns of Chipata and Katete in Zambia conducted in July 2023. Border towns and spaces provide a rich source of information about issues related to the informal or irregular movement of young people across borders, including smuggling and trafficking. They can help build a picture of the nature and scope of the type of movement young migrants undertake and also the forms of protection available to them. Border towns and spaces also provide a lens through which we can better understand the vulnerabilities of young people on the move and, critically, the strategies they use to navigate challenges and access support.
The findings in this report highlight some of the key factors shaping the experiences and vulnerabilities of young people on the move – particularly their proximity to border spaces and how this affects the risks that they face. The report describes strategies that young people on the move employ to remain below the radar of visibility to state and non-state actors due to fear of arrest, detention, and deportation while also trying to keep themselves safe and access support in border towns. These strategies of (in)visibility provide a way to protect themselves yet at the same time also heighten some of the risks young people face as their vulnerabilities are not always recognised by those who could offer support.
In this report we show that the realities and challenges of life and migration in this region and in Zambia need to be better understood for support to be strengthened and tuned to meet the specific needs of young people on the move. This includes understanding the role of state and non-state stakeholders, the impact of laws and policies and, critically, the experiences of the young people themselves. We provide recommendations for immediate action, recommendations for programming to support young people on the move in the two towns that would reduce risk for young people in this area, and recommendations for longer term policy advocacy.

Isolation - Suffered by Most of the Elderly
Their eyes shed tears that speak of their isolation. Their tired faces gaze at you
weakly. Their figures lie curled in fetal positions. They appear lifeless and dusty as
cast away old furniture. They are the people who are abandoned and deceived in
their most helpless years. On their own and unaided, they appear beyond nursing
any hope. These are those who because of their old age have been abandoned by
their children in "homes" to waste away and die lonely and broken hearted.
Faced with these situations, the first question that comes to mind is: do these
fathers and mothers, who gave life, and nurtured their children with affection,
devoted their young years to nourish, teach, to meet every child’s demands, now
deserve to be deserted like these? Shouldn’t they expect a little care and attention
from their own families in return? A visit to a home for the elderly arouses these
feelings, and leads us to question ourselves and the society we live in. At the
same, it leaves us wondering if the same fate awaits us when we reach our own
old age.
