positioning, and hand orientations during practice. Prepared students for belt gradings, under belts
and black belts. Teaching focused on personal relationships with the students and self-esteemand
confidence building. Focused on promoting one’s best self and a positive attitude. Created a
comfortable and constructive student-driven environment for success.
Lead Karate Instructor, Superior Karate May 2012-July 2014
Responsibilities as lead instructor included overseeing the class and monitoring student progress.
Also, running students through warm-ups and leading class in technique demonstration while
delegating other duties to assistant instructors. Paid close attention to my own performance and
demonstration to provide an example for students to model. Assisted in group practice with hand
pads and heavy bags. Communicated with parents about their child’s progress.
Cashier/Cash Office Coordinator, TJ Maxx May 2007-April 2012
Responsibilities included greeting customers in a friendly manner, ringing customers up at the
register and the solicitation of the TJX credit card promotion, processing returned merchandise,
organizing and maintaining the front end of the store. In other departments, responsibilities
included maintaining organization and cleanliness. Mainly worked in the jewelry, shoe, and
accessory departments, often creating and changing clothing, purse, and jewelry displays.
Received more responsibilities in 2011 from the store manager. Became alternative cash officer
and was responsible for counting and recording the daily sales, processing profits, and preparing
registers for the day.
