The present investigation entitled “Assessment of growth and yield performance of twelve different rice varieties under north Konkan coastal zone of Maharashtra” was carried out during the kharif season of the year 2021 and 2022 on the field of ASPEE, Agricultural Research and Development Foundation, Tansa Farm, At Nare, Taluka Wada, District Palghar, Maharashtra, India. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD). The twelve varieties namely Zini, Jaya, Dandi, Rahghudya, Govindbhog, Dangi, Gurjari, VNR-7, VNR-8, VNR-9, Karjat-3, and Karjat-5 were replicated thrice. The plant height (cm), number of tillers per plant, number of panicles per plant, number of panicles (m²), and length of panicle (cm) were noted to the maximum with cv. “VNR-7”. The highest number of seeds per panicle, test weight (gm), grain yield (q/ha), and straw yield (q/ha) were recorded with the cv. “VNR-7”. While the lowest number of days to 50% flowering was also recorded with cv. “VNR-7” during the year 2021 and 2022.

In this study, it is desired to prevent irrigation in agricultural and landscape areas and inefficient use of water due to incorrect irrigation systems. This project helps to manage water intelligently, increase irrigation efficiency, reduce costs and use water in the most convenient way. Irrigation systems in agricultural areas are also affected by developing technology. It is aimed to automate irrigation systems with Arduino Uno microcontroller in order to use water efficiently, reduce energy consumption, and increase efficiency in agriculture. Using the Arduino IDE program, the water consumption in the irrigation system will be adjusted. By adding a humidity sensor, irrigation will be carried out as much as the plants need, and unnecessary irrigation will be prevented in rainy weather thanks to the soil moisture information. Manpower will be minimized. Realizing the importance of the drip irrigation system in agriculture, automatic irrigation will be added to this system and irrigation will be made efficient. holds the record for second-largest agricultural land in the world generating employment for
about half of the country’s population. Thus, farmers become an integral part of the sector to
provide us with means of sustenance.
Consumer spending in India will return to growth in 2021 post the pandemic-led contraction,
expanding by as much as 6.6%. The Indian food industry is poised for huge growth, increasing
its contribution to world food trade every year due to its immense potential for value addition,

Drip irrigation is the most efficient water and nutrient
delivery system for growing crops. It delivers water and
nutrients directly to the plant's roots zone, in the right
amounts, at the right time, so each plant gets exactly what it
needs, when it needs it, to grow optimally.
EXPLICIT JUSTIFICATIONS
Drip or trickle irrigation refers to the frequent application of
small quantities of water at low flow rates and pressures.
Rather than irrigating the entire field surface, as with
sprinklers, drip irrigation is capable of delivering water
precisely at the plant where nearly all of the water can be
used for plant growth. The uniformity of application is not
affected by wind because the water is applied at or below the
ground surface. A well designed and maintained drip
irrigation system is capable of an application efficiency of 90
percent.
INCREMENTAL CHANGES
Drip irrigation system can achieve high uniformity. When the
system is designed for uniformity coefficient equal or more
than 70%, the water application in the field can be expressed
as a normal distribution and further simplified to a linear
distribution.
