 Father – School teacher.
 Served as a CEO of Infosys Limited from 1981-
2002.
 From 2002-2011 he served as the Chairman of
Infosys Limited.

Indian social Worker and
accomplished author.
 2 Children – Rohan & Akshata
EARLY START
 Obtained his degree in Electrical Engineering from
National Institute of Engineering, University of
Mysore in 1967.
 Received Master’s degree from IIT Kanpur in 1969.
 1st Job at IIM Ahmedabad where he worked as a
chief system Programmer.

 After that he started a company named softronics in
1976 and that company failed to perform well.
 Then he joined Patni computer systems in Pune.
 Founded Infosys in 1981 with an initial capital
injection of Rs. 10,000 which was Invested by his
wife Mrs. Sudha Murthy
Rise of INFOSYS
 Started with 7 software developers in Pune with
Rs.10,000 borrowed from Narayan Murthy’s wife.
 The Company was given the name “Infosys
Consultant Pvt Ltd.” in Raghavan’s house in Model
colony, Pune.
 Infosys was the 1st Indian Company
to be listed on NASDAQ.

Mr. Murthy has a positive style of leadership
i.e., a leader promote his followers to work hard by
