Understanding the Shift to Edge Computing Edge computing is growing dramatically due to the increasing volume of real-time data from billions of devices. By 2025, there will be 175 zettabytes of data generated annually from 6 billion people and 150 billion devices. Edge computing is evolving from centralized cloud and data centers to distributed devices, fog nodes, and edge servers located closer to the data sources. This shift is driven by cost, data volume, and processing efficiency concerns but also faces security and implementation challenges that companies are working to address through new technologies like 5G networks, AI, and specialized edge computing hardware.

IoT Fundamentals - Global Azure Bootcamp 2018 - Malta
During the IoT Fundamentals session, we started by covering "What is IoT" and why should we use it. We learned some statistics about IoT devices, and also analysed Real World IoT solutions, explaining which technologies were used. Then we delved into Microsoft Azure and start exploring IoT related features, including IoT Hub, Device Twins, Device Simulation from Azure IoT Suite, and Time Series Insights.
During the Hands-on Lab, we setup an IoT Hub, provisioned an MxChip and also simulated devices to send Telemetry data back to IoT Hub. Finally we visualised all the data received from our devices (real and simulated) on Time Series Insights. Also we had a last minute addition regarding the Azure Sphere, which was launched in the same week as the Global Azure Bootcamp!

CrowdStrike researchers have identified a HijackLoader (aka IDAT Loader) sample that employs sophisticated evasion techniques to enhance the complexity of the threat. HijackLoader, an increasingly popular tool among adversaries for deploying additional payloads and tooling, continues to evolve as its developers experiment and enhance its capabilities.
In their analysis of a recent HijackLoader sample, CrowdStrike researchers discovered new techniques designed to increase the defense evasion capabilities of the loader. The malware developer used a standard process hollowing technique coupled with an additional trigger that was activated by the parent process writing to a pipe. This new approach, called "Interactive Process Hollowing", has the potential to make defense evasion stealthier.
