US20140244017 (Determining items to build based on an internet of things (iot) network inventory and
building the determined items using a 3d printer; Qualcomm)
The disclosure generally relates to determining items to build based on inventory in an Internet of Things (IoT)
network and using a 3D printer to build the determined items. In particular, inventory in the IoT network may be
monitored to predict replacement needs associated with certain items in the IoT network inventory and determine
further inventory needs (e.g., based on items that malfunction or break, upcoming calendar events, etc.). In one
embodiment, in response to determining that additional inventory items may be needed in the IoT network, licenses
and 3D printer blueprints to build the items may be obtained (internally and/or externally) and 3D printing may be
scheduled to build the items (e.g., based on a priority scheme, timing criteria, resource availability, etc.), whereby
the items may be added to the IoT network inventory when the 3D printer completes 3D print jobs to produce the
items.

A 3D food printing system, which can deposit macro- and micro-nutrients in an additive process to prepare a wide
variety of different types of food. According to embodiments described herein, a 3D printed food system can be
used to rapidly and efficiently prepare meals on demand, rather than in advance, while also allowing nutritional
content, flavor, and taste to be customized for individual crew members. In some embodiments, the food can also
be prepared in a largely or even completely automated fashion.

The present invention relates to a computer-implemented method of manufacturing customised 3D objects. The
method includes retrieving a source model for a 3D object and a plurality of defined control points for the 3D
object from a database; receiving modifications to at least some of the control points from a first user;
automatically applying the modifications to the source model to create a modified model; and automatically
generating print instructions for manufacture of a customised version of the 3D object. A system and 3D models
generated by the method are also disclosed.

Disclosed are a system for scheduling additive manufacturing resources based on cloud computation and a method
thereof. The system comprises: a client end, for requesting an additive manufacturing task, and receiving the
feedback information from a cloud operation system; a server end, for implementing the additive manufacturing
task, receiving the additive manufacture request from the cloud operation system, and sending the manufactured
products to a receiver; the cloud operation system, for coordinately handling the works between the client end and
the server end; the receiver, for receiving the additive manufactured products. Also disclosed is a method for
scheduling additive manufacturing resources. On the basis of cloud computation, the present invention realizes
automatic packing materials and removing models for 3D printer by means of computer remote control, and
implements automated assembly for different parts printed at the same location according to the user requirements,
thus resolving the resource scheduling optimization problem of the additive manufacturing represented by 3D
print, making 3D printer progress from a single machine to networking, and optimizing the utilization rate of the
limited resource.
