Showing up with open arms, providing a space where we wish for an outcome without controlling or pushing it, provides a dynamic for change that is powerful, well understood and seriously underrepresented in organisational change. We say change is hard. We say leading change is hard. It’s hard because we think it is, because we make it so. We change out of obligation (“we have to …”) rather than responsibility (“we want to …”), and we try to change others instead of giving them a choice.
