- 20. Checklist • Match the teacher and the video conference • Schedule. This is the hardest part. Remember time zones. • Find out your district billing policies for adding vendors and getting PO’s • Keep separate folders with checklists • Check photo permissions and district policies. Be careful • Check equipment set up. Confirm conference times with teacher and far side. • Test call. Exchange cell phone or other contact numbers • Student-Teacher Planning Sessions. Rehearse with students
- 21. Troubleshooting • Check all cables, especially power. Check that network is ethernet and not defaulted to an airport • Check Skype preferences • Check computer settings (audio, displays) • Restart • Sometimes there’s a problem with bandwidth. Sometimes it’s a problem with the other side • Cell phones! • Don’t stress. It’s a teachable moment - Ask for help - Smile • If it’s still not working.....something’s broken....

- CHINA: Donghu Middle School\nSMS 8th grade students spoke Mandarin during a videoconference with pen-pals from Donghu Middle School in Pinghu, Zhejian, China. They shared music, skits, projects, and asked questions about favorite foods, sports, and music. The students had exchanged artwork and letters earlier in the year.
