2. PHARMACOKINETICS
 Pharmacokinetics is the kinetics of absorption,
distribution and elimination (i.e. metabolism and
excretion).
 In biopharmaceutics pharmacokinetics can be defined as
the relationship between the change in the concentration
of drug in body(plasma) with respect to the kinetics
factors(A,D,M,E).

3. PHARMACODYNAMICS
 Pharmacodynamics refers to the relationship between the
drug concentration at the site of action(receptor) and the
pharmacologic response.
 It includes physiological and biochemical effects of drug
and their mechanism of action at organ/ subcellular/
macromolecular levels.

4. DRUG INTERACTION
 A drug interaction generally refers to a modification of the
expected drug response in the patient as a result of
exposure of a patient to another drug or substance.
 The drug whose activity is affected by such an interaction is
called as the OBJECT DRUG and the agent which
precipitates such an interaction is referred as
PRECIPITANT.
