IoT projects face many obstacles on their journey from idea to end-to-end solution. Technology is less an issue, with many vendors and solutions emerging every day. This brings optimism, but also concerns about proper future proof choice and interoperability issues. Even bigger concerns are present in business model definition, business cases creation, go-to-market strategy preparation which requires organizational changes that companies need to conduct in order to be long-term successful in the IoT domain. Verso deploys many projects worldwide, focusing mainly on communication part of IoT solution, however being involved in business discussion as well. What are common technological and business obstacles and what are best practices to resolve them will be the main feature of our presentation.

Ericsson Technology Review: Tackling IoT complexity with machine intelligenceEricsson
IoT-based systems will require a high level of decision making automation both in terms of infrastructure management and within the logic of the IoT applications themselves. Decision support systems (DSSs) are an essential tool in this context on account of their ability to enhance human decision-making processes with machine intelligence. The cognitive automation framework that we have created at Ericsson speeds up the development and deployment of intelligent DSSs by reusing as much knowledge as possible, including domain models, behaviors and reasoning mechanisms. The framework substantially reduces operational costs for IoT-based system management by enabling DSSs to make decisions about how to adapt to changes in their context and environment with minimal or no human interaction.

Industrial automation industry exploring and
implementing IoT
By Bill Lydon
T
he idea of the Internet of Things (IoT)
has been creating a great deal of ex-
citement in the computing and com-
munications industry for some time.
Currently, the industrial automation
industry is starting to explore and
implement IoT concepts and technology. Other
terms related to these concepts are machine to
machine (M2M), Internet of Everything, Inter-
net of Things, and IP (Internet protocol) to the
Edge. Kevin Ashton, a British technology pio-
neer, is generally attributed with inventing the
term “the Internet of Things” in 1999; although
the concept has been discussed in literature
since at least 1991 (www.en.wikipedia.org/
wiki/Kevin_Ashton). Commercially, in 2008
IBM launched its Smart Planet initiative. The
same year, the nonproft IP for Smart Objects
(IPSO) Alliance was started with more than 50
members from technology, communications,
and energy companies to promote the IP for
“smart object” communications.
The IoT vision is of a massively instrumented
world of intelligent sensors (analog and digi-
tal) and actuators (analog and digital) com-
municating using IP to improve performance
and effciency. Internet protocol is the primary

A comprehensive IoT ecosystem consists of many different parts. Irrespective of nature and complexity, a holistic IoT system can be understood through this quick guide.
An extensive review: Internet of things is speeding up the necessity for 5GIJERA Editor
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a very large number of objects, with intensive connections and allows these smart objects to be sensed and controlled remotely across efficient network, which is breathing new capability into anything anywhere in the life. This paper presents an overview of about 4G and 5G with their important features and how will drive IoT in future to build smart cities and smart objects. Scientists are concentrates about the advance implementation of these technologies especially the 5G is the term which is not formally used for any current technology and it is still early to provide an exact definition of 5G. We also present an overview of future keys in cellular system to get better IoT such as D2D, M2M, NOMA and Massive MIMO. This work presents the exact steps in 4G and 5G which important towards IoT and the ability to establish the smart cities. Nowadays 4G LTE-A systems are getting maturity and have been installed, the challenge now is how to improve 4G to get a smooth development from 4G to 5G. Among these steps and challenges are considered as the pieces of the 5G using massive MIMO, new access techniques, millimeter wave (mm Wave) and M2M, D2D communication. The future fifth generation (5G) cellular networks have drawn great attention from scientists and companies around the world. 5G cellular networks should accomplish 1,000 times higher mobile data per geographic area. Plus 10-100 times higher number of connecting devices, with low latency and long battery life.
Evolving the service provider architecture to unleash the potential of IoT - ...FrenchWeb.fr
The idea that the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) are fads is quickly fading. Today, the real challenge is how to implement a solution that can adjust to the volatility of a rapidly changing market. The round-table features how does IIoT trends help to illustrate on using a platform-based approach to address such challenges.
Internet Of Things(IoT) is emerging technology in future world. The term IoT comprises of Cloud computing, Data mining,
Big data analytics, hardware board. The Security and Interoperability is a main factor that influences the IoT Enegy
consumption is also main fator for IoT application designing. The various protocols such as MQTT,AMQP,XMPP are used in
IoT.This paper analysis the various protocols used in Internet of Things.
The Internet of Things (IoT) has become a popular buzzword around technology forums and organizations in recent years. But, how many truly understand the IoT system? IoT consists of a complex web of varied parts including electronic circuitry, embedded systems, network protocols, and more. This quick guide helps you classify and understand these various parts of the comprehensive IoT ecosystem.
Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms.
