Tracking Products Delma MSS Ltd. (released under NDA)
Presentation Content Company overview Tracking GSM Cell Mapping Summary
Company Overview Delma MSS manufactures & supplies communications monitoring, tracking and surveillance solutions We integrate in-house software with leading edge surveillance hardware Experienced management team with many years of experience in the industry (Racal & Thales) Based in UK & operating today in N and S America, Middle East, Europe, SE Asia, Australasia
Delma Tracking approach Different methods of locating are used in different circumstances. GPS has shortcomings – needs view of satellites GSM based cell vectoring being developed and refined to give more complete coverage AND additional GSM based trackable events (incoming/outgoing calls, SMS etc) Cell mapping in progress by Delma and partners to create global cell database for worldwide cell vector locating Return
Tracking & Locating
Defining the tracking event + + The voice recording/text + time + place = event
Tracking & Locating systems Assets and personnel can be tracked – anything with an attached trackable device or mobile GSM, GPS, RFID and TETRA devices can be tracked Different tracking precisions dependent on device type Database held of all tracked assets Runs on secure platform Recorded calls and text messages can be linked to location Leading edge and new high precision GSM based tracking
Assets, personnel or device movement history Tracking by GSM Cell ID Example GSM device trail (Train journey Basingstoke to London) using Cell ID (Client server)
Assets, personnel or device movement history Tracking by GPS/GSM devices Trackar device Example tracking history using GPS (Client server)
Geo-fencing - geographical areas can be defined Alerts and alarms can be programmed for devices moving into or out of the defined area Areas can be any shape VIP routes can be geo-fenced . Geo-fencing Example geo-fence (Client server)
Improved GSM Tracking (beta) Tracking based on Cell vectoring Positional events based on Current location via cell vectoring Incoming and outgoing calls Incoming and outgoing SMS SMS optionally readable Voice calls optionally downloadable and playable Requires base Cell mapping…………….
Improved GSM Tracking (beta) Web portal home page
Improved GSM Tracking (beta) Return
GSM Cell Mapping & Cell Site Surveys
GSM Cell Mapping To track by CellID requires accurate mapping of cells Delma Cell Seeker System stores a CellID coverage footprints Select matrix of survey routes approx 100m apart Take Cell power readings Move to next route Cell Seeker PDA Survey in progress
Relative power of each cell at each survey point measured every 2-3 seconds LAC/CellID detected Footprint of all CellIDs related to GPS positions of readings Data uploaded to Cell Seeker Back Office system for mapping Many Cells now hidden and/or unpublished Also detects bogus BTS (Interceptors, illegal networks) GSM Cell Mapping
Forensically continuously map cells around crime scenes Used for evidential cell site analysis Used to confirm likely location for mobile phone usage as part of a crime Forensic GSM Cell Mapping Real-life cell survey case from Cell Seeker Back Office used in criminal case evidence……
GSM Cell Mapping – cell shape Cells are not like this Cells are more like this
Cells and CellID Segment CellID example Circular CellID example Cell shapes are not like this but are created by BTS antennae……
3 sector BTS are common using directional antennae but …. … directional antennae are all provided with radiation pattern charts in the vertical and horizontal planes and these show side lobes and back lobes… Directional antennae
Directional antennae tilting is used to control and improve antennae coverage footprint but electrical tilting forces back and side lobes down. This modifies the cell shape … Tilting
Presumed 3 sectored BTS and related Cells True Cell shape Actual cells could have side and/or back lobe included Creates problems for security & LEAs…… Back lobes
True Cell shape A target or road side bomb presumed to be here……. For accurate Cell ID usage the true shape and mapping of cells must be known accurately … could be here 500 m away!!
Cell power vectors Strongest cell with distinct shadow close to the mast Position of BTS and reception measurement points Strongest reception within 200m of the BTS is back lobe of another cell Return
Summary Delma MSS global tracking and partner network Shared global cell database Flexible GSM and GPS solutions Additional trackable events Return
