State Bank of India will be conducting SBI PO 2020 Exam in three
phases: Online Prelims Exam, Mains Exam and Interview Process.

Selection criteria for Main Examination: Category wise merit list will
be drawn on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the
Preliminary Exam. There will be no sectional cut-off. Candidates
numbering 10 times the numbers of vacancies (approx.) in each
category will be short listed for Main Examination from the top of above
merit list.
Penalty for wrong answer: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every
question attempted wrong by a candidate. No deduction will be there in
marks if a question is left unattempted or blank by a candidate.

Interview Process
A candidate who clears both the Prelims & Mains Exam of SBI
PO 2020 will be further called for a GD-PI session wherein they will face
a panel of selectors discussing on their past experience and questions
related to General Knowledge and of the Banking Sector. It is essential
for a candidate to clear the Interview Process in order to ensure their
final selection in the SBI PO 2020 Exam. The qualifying marks for this
round will be decided by the Bank and the marks alloted to these
rounds are: Group Discussion - 20 marks, Interview - 30 marks.

Final Selection
After a candidate has gone through Personal Interviews, a merit list
will be prepared by State Bank of India wherein the candidate's score
of Mains Exam and Interview Round will be taken into account.
Based on the score obtained by candidates and the available
vacancies, a final cut-off marks will be declared. All candidates who
clear the cut-off range will be granted the Appointment Letter by State
Bank of India for the post of Probationary Officer.

SBI PO 2020 Mains Exam Pattern
The SBI PO Mains Exam will comprise of 4 sections namely
Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation &
General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness, English Language. The
entire paper is to be completed in a time span of 3 hours. A
descriptive paper will be conducted along with the above mentioned
online test. It needs to be completed in a time span of 30 minutes
and the maximum marks allotted to this test is 50.
(i) Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consists of 4
Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate
timing for every section
(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration
with two questions for 50 marks will be a Test of English
Language (Letter Writing & Essay).
Penalty for wrong answer: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every
question attempted wrong by a candidate in SBI PO Mains Exam. No
deduction will be made in marks if a question is left unattempted or
blank by a candidate in the exam

INSTITUTE OF BANKING PERSONNEL SELECTION (IBPS)
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, popularly
known as the IBPS is an autonomous body. It conducts
recruitment examinations for all Public Sector Banks except the
SBI.
Over the years, it has also provided services related to
assessment and testing for different banks through various bank
exams.
The Institute is governed by a board of nominees from
different government bodies and banks such as the RBI, Ministry
of Finance, IIT Mumbai, NIBM and IBA. It was constituted in 1984
from the original examining body under the National Institute of
Bank Management.
The centralized examinations covering all public sector
banks’ recruitment started on a limited scale the same year. The
process was made fully online in the late 2000s.

IBPS PO Exam Pattern
IBPS introduced separate sectional timing for each sections in preliminary exam.
The IBPS PO exam (CWE 10) for hiring candidates will be based on an online written
exam in two parts: Tier 1 or IBPS Preliminary Exam and Tier 2 or IBPS Mains Exam.
This examination is followed by a face-to-face interview process.
IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern
The IBPS PO preliminary examination has a total duration of 1 hour, which will be
conducted in online mode. It consists of 3 sections with a total of 100 questions and
maximum score of 100 marks. There is negative marking in IBPS PO pre exam and
0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates must clear the cut-off in all
3 sections to qualify for the IBPS PO Main exam. The section-wise details are given
below:
Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off
marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as
decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main
Examination.

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern
The IBPO PO Main exam is also conducted online, it has 5(4+1) sections with
a total score of 200+25 marks and total duration of 180+30 minutes. Just like
IBPS PO 2017, IBPS will be conducting a descriptive paper in its mains
exam for selection of candidates to the post of Probationary officer. The
sections must be attempted in the same order and the allotted time as
mandated at the time of the exam. A candidate has to clear both preliminary
and mains examination to be eligible for the interview process.

IBPS PO Interview
The candidates who have qualified the mains exam are called for a
face to face interview which carries a maximum of 100 marks. The
minimum qualifying marks in the interview is 40% (35% for
SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).
The interview round is generally 15-20 minutes long, where a panel of
bank officials ask questions to the candidates about themselves,
banking sector, current affairs, general awareness, etc. The
candidates must be well dressed, confident and carry all required
documents to the interview.
The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in
mains examination and interview. The final score is calculated by
IBPS with weightage of marks given to the main examination and
interview in the ratio of 80:20 respectively.

Penalty for Wrong Answers:
There is a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective
Tests of both Preliminary and Mains exams. A wrong answer to an
objective question by the candidate will lead to a penalty of one
fourth of the marks assigned to that question. For example, 0.25
marks will be deducted as penalty for wrong answer to a question
that carries 1 mark. There will be no penalty for leaving a question
blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate.

Final Score Calculation for IBPS PO Exam:
The final score for the IBPS PO exam is calculated keeping the following
points in mind:
• Marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam (Tier-1) will not be considered
in the final score and are only for qualifying to Mains Exam (Tier-2).
• Candidates must qualify Phase-2 and Interview separately to be eligible
for final merit.
• The weightage (ratio) of CWE Main exam and interview for final merit
list will be 80:20 respectively.
• The aggregate score out of 100 is used for the final merit list for each
category. Candidates with top merit rank in each category are finally
selected.

It conducts recruitment examinations for all Public Sector Banks except the SBI. Over the years, it has also provided services related to assessment and testing for different banks through various bank exams. The Institute is governed by a board of nominees from different government bodies and banks such as the RBI, Ministry of Finance, IIT Mumbai, NIBM and IBA. The IBPS PO exam (CWE 10) for hiring candidates will be based on an online written exam in two parts: Tier 1 or IBPS Preliminary Exam and Tier 2 or IBPS Mains Exam. This examination is followed by a face-to-face interview process. IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern The IBPS PO preliminary examination has a total duration of 1 hour, which will be conducted in online mode. It consists of 3 sections with a total of 100 questions and maximum score of 100 marks. There is negative marking in IBPS PO pre exam and 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Candidates must clear the cut-off in all 3 sections to qualify for the IBPS PO Main exam. The section-wise details are given below: Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The interview round is generally 15-20 minutes long, where a panel of bank officials ask questions to the candidates about themselves, banking sector, current affairs, general awareness, etc. The candidates must be well dressed, confident and carry all required documents to the interview.
