If you are an ISV partner you can spin an org from your environment hub and that
will have wave enabled
If you are an SI partner you can use success community analytics chatter group
and request for a wave enabled org
Once you get an org first thing you do is assign appropriate permission sets

Extended metadata (XMD) enables you to customize the formatting of dashboard
elements in Wave Analytics.

The hiding of dimensions and measures in the user interface

13. Wave Analytics External Data API
The External Data API enables you to upload external data files to Wave Analytics. The External Data API
can upload .csv files, and you can optionally specify the structure of your data by defining metadata in
JSON format.

Analytics Cloud uses SAQL behind the scenes in lenses,
dashboards, and explorer to gather data for visualizations.
