Who Is Walt Disney A Hero
Walt Disney created his iconic character, Mickey Mouse, in the 1930s. The Mickey Mouse character is
widely recognizable as an American icon, and provides the foundation, along with a host of other
recognizable characters, for the Walt Disney empire. The Disneyland Theme Park opened in 1955 in
California, while the Walt Disney World park opened in Florida in 1971 (Ferrell Hirt, 2013). In 1983,
the Walt Disney Company expanded beyond the United States, opening a park in Japan that would be
followed in the coming decades by parks in France and China (Ferrell Hirt, 2013).
In spite of the popularity of Disney s iconic characters and the immersion into their world that park
goers experience, Disney s expansion outside of the United

Investigate the rate of reaction between HCl and Na2S 2O3
For this piece of coursework we are investigating the rates of reaction and he effect different changes
have on them. The rate of reaction is the rate of loss of a reactant or the rate of formation of a product
during a chemical reaction. We are studying the affect of changing concentration of Na2S2O3
Solution and dilute HCl.
I believe these variables will affect the rate of reaction:
· Surface area
· Pressure
· Temperature
· Catalyst
· Concentration
Concentration
=============
If the concentration of a solution is increased there are more reactant particles per unit volume. This
increased the probability of reactant particles colliding with each other. ... Show more content on

During my preliminary experiment in which sulphur was made the speed at which the precipitate of
the solid was produced was used to measure the speed of the reaction.
Na2S2 O3(aq) + 2HCl(aq) 2NaCl(aq) + H2O(i) + SO2(g) + S(s)
Prediction
I predict that as the temperature is increased the rate of reaction will increase. I also predict that as the
concentration of the sodium thiosulphate increases the rate of reaction will increase. When the
temperature is increased the particles will have more energy and this would enable them to move
faster. This will make them collide more often and with more energy. Particles with more energy are
more likely to overcome the activation energy barrier to reaction; this would make them react
successfully. If solutions of reacting particles are made more concentrated there are more particles in
the area.
Method
Experiment 1 Changing the concentration
5 cm3 of HCl (at concentration 1 mol./dm3) and 15 cm3 of sodium thiosulphate (at varying
concentrations 10 to 35 g/dm3) are poured out into two measuring cylinders and then poured into a
conical flask, which is placed on top of a board marked with letter X. The stopwatch will now be
started. When the mixture has turned sufficiently cloudy so that the letter X can no longer be seen the
stopwatch will be stopped and the time will be recorded. The experiment is repeated

these products more enjoyable for the customer.
c) The store is set up in a manner that makes it very easy for the customer to locate denim. At the
entrance of the store there were two tables filled with denim with brand signage visible, other brands
were hung with brand signage above the area. Throughout the store the denim is merchandised
perfectly the skinny and bootcut denim styles are easily accessible and arranged in logical order by
brand, style, and color to make shopping easy.

Markdowns Markdown Areas
A:
 We could tell just by looking at the items why they were marked down they were all summer styles,
out of season lighter denim washes, and tops are sleeveless tanks in a bright range of colors.
B:
 The prices in the denim range from $79.97 to $119.97 the tops range from $17.97 to $34.97. The
items seem to be properly priced however now that the temperature seems to be dropping, I would
expect the prices on the tops especially be slashed again. Even though the denim on sale consists of
mostly lighter colors, they can still be worn year round so they most likely will not see too many huge
markdowns for the change of weather.
C:
The Buckle location that we visited has a huge Forever 21 store to compete with about three stores

American Sign Language Advantages
In Marion County we pride ourselves on giving each child what they need to thrive. For many of our
Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, American Sign Language is their first language. It has become
more and more apparent through educational programs and research that being proficient in American
Sign Language leads to proficiency in reading and writing in English. Being proficient in two
languages is called bilingualism. Research has proven that early exposure to bilingualism provides
fundamental advantages in cognition, language, and literacy. The cognitive and language benefits that
come from being bilingual continue throughout the lifetime.
The Deaf and hard of hearing program understands that proficiency in American Sign Language has

Angelica Schuyler s Duel Against Inequality
Angelica Schuyler s Duel Against Inequality
A key aspect in which Hamilton brings to light is the values of inequality. Women, while are making
strides, they are still not equal to men. As seen in Hamilton women are just as capable to perform the
same job as men and, in many instances, do the job better. Whether it is inequality with slaves, even
leading to some hypocrisy, or with women, some of the key values within Hamilton are revolve
around the fact of equality. In the play, if all people where believed as equal, some of the role
characters such as Angelica, could play a larger factor in the play.
To begin let s talk about gender equality. This is a large issue, one that which has plagued America for
centuries. Angelica is called by experts to be the smartest character within the play. This is somewhat
astounding because she is facing some of the brightest men in history, including Burr, George
Washington, and Alexander Hamilton himself. In the play, there is a common motif of My Shot . In
fact, one of the songs in the play itself is called My Shot . This particular song speaks to how
Hamilton as well as other character are not going to squander their shot at making America great and
free from British rule. In the song Hamilton sings I am not throwing away my shot! I am not throwing
away my shot! Hey yo, I m just like my country I m young, scrappy and hungry And I m not throwing
away my shot! (Miranda, My Shot ). However, is this common motif given to ALL

Jean Twenge Generation Me
How many times has your phone gone off in a period of an hour? In today s interconnected world
where posting a selfie can be done in seconds, it is not difficult to see why Jean Twenge, author of
Generation Me, and other critics of Millennial behavior could see them as being narcissistic. Looking
at social media networks, the average number of selfies posted or status updates on even the most
mundane daily activities is remarkable. Are these true signs of a rise in narcissism in today s youth or
just normal self expression made possible through technology? For the purpose of this essay we will
discuss why some of the actions taken by millennials could have led to them being labeled narcissistic.
First let s look at the definition of narcissism, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pointing out that much of the volunteering that is done by millennials is not coming from within, but
is mostly attributed to the fact that colleges take community service into consideration for admission
and more high schools are making it a requirement for graduation. This is taking a small sample of the
millennial population and not looking at the whole. According to William Strauss and Neil Howe,
authors of Will the Real Gen Y Please Stand Up , A healthy civic indicator is the boom in youth
volunteering, a finding the Egos study discounts because so many high schools require community
service. But other indicators point to the same positive trend. Voting rates for Americans 25 and
younger have surged since the late 1990 s. According to the UCLA College Freshman survey, 76% of
new college arrivals, a record high, now say that raising a family is a very important goal and a record
low, only 27%, agree that realistically, there is little an individual can do to change society. Therefore
argument can be made that millennials are far more civic minded than previous generations which has
been evident in the last two presidential elections. The fact is millennials are a generation who believe
that they can change the world and are actively trying to do

Soils:
Qatar being a desert environment, most people think that it is not possible to grow plants there. This is
not the case. There are 5 different soil types to consider throughout Qatar:
● Rawdha soils: these soils have a small amount of organic matter, low water retention properties and
poor structural properties. Also, rawdha soils give rise to surface crusting which interferes with the
plant air water relationship and inhibits the emergence of seedlings.
● sabhka soils: are soils that are made of sand.. Most of that sand in these soils is driven by wind,
which makes it structurally unstable and unsafe for travelers.

Puritan verse eighteen century deist thinking
Throughout history man s view of God has constantly evolved. During the formation of America this
is made evident when the 17th century Puritan idealism is confronted with 18th century
Enlightenment. This collision of religious ideas would spark a change, and a new age in America. My
research will shows the original American settlers had concepts and, emerging different understanding
of the biblical scripture and, needed to come to grips with social and religious freedom from being
exclusive to being more inclusive.
Puritans traveled to New England in the early seventeenth century. They believed that economic and
political force, and religious disagreements were creating a decline in English society. It is important
to note that Puritans were non separatists, meaning that they wanted to reform the Church of England,
not abandon it. (Baym 165) The first colony that the Puritans set up was north of Plymouth, at
Massachusetts Bay. However, after finding a gap in the charter they received from King Charles I the
Puritans moved their capital to Salem, Massachusetts. John Winthrop, the first governor of the
Massachusetts Bay Colony, the Massachusetts Puritans sought to create their City upon a hill with
laws and rules based on their religious rules. (Baym 177) A conservative hierarchical system was
formed by Puritans based on God s will

How Ultra s Customer Database Meets The Not Generally...
II. Not Generally Known or Readily Ascertainable
C A court is likely to find that Ultra s customer database meets the not generally known or readily
ascertainable element.
R In determining whether information is not generally known or readily ascertainable, courts consider
the following two Restatement factors: the extent to which the information is known outside of the
business and the ease or difficulty with which the information could be properly acquired or
duplicated by others. Al Minor, 117 Ohio St. 3d at 61 (citing Plain Dealer, 80 Ohio St. 3d at 524 25).
To determine whether the information is not generally known or readily ascertainable is if a trade
secret owner collected and/or compiled the information from a variety of sources, thus this may
support a finding that the information is not generally known or readily ascertainable. Salemi, 145
Ohio St. 3d at ¶29.
To determine whether a customer list is not generally known, it ordinarily includes not only the name
of a business or person but also information that is not generally available to the public, such as the
name of a contact person, a non public telephone or cell phone number, an email address, and other
data known only because of the relationship with the client. Salemi, 2014 Ohio 3914 at ¶18 (citing

Analysis Of The Book Alice s Adventures Essay
Alice s Adventures
AnnaMarie Bethune
Northeast Alabama Community College
Enraged from the recent conversation with her aunt and uncle, Alice storms out the door. Headed to
her usual spot beneath the old Willow near the edge of the forest, she runs full speed down the hill,
hopefully relieving some of her anger. As she stops at the edge of the forest, book in hand, now sitting,
she can t help but notice her veins flooding with adrenaline. She s so mad she can t sit still.
Alice jumps up and begins walking through the woods, at a rather fast pace, she suddenly stops at the
sound of an odd noise. Frozen, she slowly turns to see that there s a rather small cat staring up at her.
As she bends down to pet it, she sees another one, and another, until there are more than thirty cats
surrounding her. Unnerved, Alice sets off at a sprint, hurdling over the rotten log fallen across her
path. Finally, she s outrun them. Alice stops as she comes to a clearing almost tripping over
something. Searching for what she has stumbled into, she sees a glimpse of royal blue covered in thick
layers of weeds and vines. Hastily pulling the vines from their tangled chaos, Alice finally reveals an
old pot . Appeared to be worn and rusting, blue paint chipping, the once gold flowers now brown,
Alice notices a large ceramic plate fitted to the top of the pot. Afraid but curious, she slowly lifts the
side. Not moved for so long, the plate was stuck to the top of the pot. Not only

What are the Benefits of Extended Breastfeeding?
Researched Evidence that Identifies Benefits of Breastfeeding to the Child, the Mother, and the Entire

What are the Benefits of Extended Breastfeeding? Throughout most of human history, breast milk has
been the one food that infants have thrived on. Breastfeeding is recognized throughout the world as
the preferred method of feeding infants due to its health benefits and nutritional quality.
Recommendations by leading health organizations echo the importance of breastfeeding by setting
forth guidelines. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, breastfeeding should be continued

An infant who is breastfed receives added health benefits compared to a child who is formula fed. In
the first few days after birth, the breast milk is comprised of protein, vitamins A and E, and antibodies
which help protect the infant from infection. After the first few days, the mature breast milk contains
fats and cholesterol, which are essential for the growth and development of the infant s nervous
system, eyes, and brain. It also contains micronutrients calcium and magnesium, which are beneficial
to the infant s growth (Thompson et al., 2010). Because of all the healthy components to breast milk,
there is significant research showing that children who are breastfed have reduction in diseases,
healthier bodies and mouths, and long term health benefits as well.
Research has shown that one of the greatest benefits is a reduction in Type 1 and 2 diabetes. It has
been shown that children than develop diabetes have had little or no consumption of human milk. It
has also been revealed that children who were fed cereal before four months of age are at a greater risk
of developing Type 1 diabetes. Infants who are exclusively breastfed also show a reduction in Chron s
disease, ulcerative colitis, Hodgkin s, leukemia, and some childhood lymphomas as lifelong
conditions. Because human milk allows for longer maturing of the infant s stomach, there are fewer
incidences of asthma and allergies (Ryan, 2012).

Thus, many people would think that there is no reason to participate actual concerts by spending
money. I have the same opinion, even since I have fascinated by some music the orchestra played. The
technology like digital records today allows us to listen to high quality music, or sometimes these have
even better quality than real concerts. In fact, the symphony I listed was almost nothing different from
the video on YouTube except the feeling in terms of the atmosphere. However, I realized this
atmosphere is the most important advantage of actual concert and the reason why still so many people
love to listen to music at concert halls. Without these enthusiastic audiences, the field of music has
never developed and won t develop in the future.
The program guide was not only useful to get information about music that the orchestra played but
also contained interesting facts. The one thing I did not know before is how widely this concert hall
and orchestra are supported by communities, companies, and even individuals. On the last some pages

Theories of Different Leadership Styles and Their Application
Leadership Styles and Theories Applied: A person s leadership style can be detected through a
combination of his/her personality, knowledge and skills, and experience that is expressed in words
and actions. Leadership is an obtained and growing process and people at all organizational levels
need to continue developing and improving their knowledge and skills. There are various ways with
which an individual can acquire knowledge about his/her personality and identify the existing and
potential leadership style. Some of these ways include the use of the Enneagram instrument, the Blake
Mouton Managerial Grid, and other articles regarding leadership.
Choosing between People or Task Orientation: Based on the results of the Enneagram test and Blake
and Mouton Leadership Grid, my personality score is between 7 and six with country club and team
leadership styles. The country club style is one in which the leader is attentive to the needs of his/her
people and has established fulfilling work culture and relationships at the expense of achievement of
results. On the other hand, the team style is one where the leader accomplishes high performance at
work by encouraging people to be committed to the organization s goals ( Blake and Mouton
Leadership Grid , n.d.). According to the results of my personality test, I have both the helper and
loyalty personality traits. Consequently, I am a hard working, committed, responsible, reliable, and

Film Noir Film Analysis
Film Noir is a style that first originated during the early 1940s, influenced by the tumultuous social
and political environment of World War II. These style of films was a subversion from the
conventional gangster films of the 1920s and 1930s. The resurgence of Noir style films in the 1970s
retained the themes of crime, vice and moral ambiguity, but updated the content due to the relaxation
of the Production Code. In this dissertation, the origins of film noir and its techniques will be
examined, with the films The Third Man (Carol Reed, 1949), and L.A Confidential (Curtis Hanson,
1997) contrasted to highlight the impact of the Production Code. According to Paul Schrader s Notes
on Film Noir (1972), there are four catalysts that spawned the film noir style: Post war
disillusionment, a desire for realism, Germanic influences and the hardboiled tradition1. During World
War II, the prominence of dark, brooding Film Noir was overpowered by the American propaganda
produced, but changed after the tragedy of World War II, as American audiences accepted a less
optimistic view of society. This desire for realism is highlighted by the artificial optimism of previous
films pre World War II. Furthermore, The hardboiled narratives of the 1930s influenced Film Noir
through their tough , defeatist attitude of characters who reside in a cynical atmosphere. In terms of
cinema, Film Noir borrows cinematic techniques and style from German Expressionism, which refers

Domestic Abuse In Purple Hibiscus
According to http://domesticabuseshelter.org/, about 400 women die due to domestic abuse from their
partners every year. One of those women could have easily been Beatris, the mother in Purple
Hibiscus, but she acted in time before she became just another name on the list of women who ve
experienced domestic abuse. The story of a christian family from Nigeria is a very powerful one.
Anyone who has or still is experiencing abuse should take the time to read it. The book Purple
Hibiscus focuses on a 14 year old girl named Kambili who has a very abusive father named Eugene.
Though he punishes Kambili, her brother, Jaja, and her mother, Beatris in the most gruesome ways,
she still has the utmost respect for him. Over the course of 2 years, Kambili watches her father kill her

McGregor and Big Sandy Lake, Minnesota Essays
McGregor and Big Sandy Lake, Minnesota
My favorite place to be would be the city and are of McGregor Minnesota. About eight miles north of
the small town is Big Sandy Lake, which is where my cabin is located. This is truly my favorite place
to be, especially during the warm summer months.
McGregor, a small town of only about four hundred people, is located in a wooded area with many
lakes, streams and river. The biggest lake is Big Sandy and is approximately seven thousand acres of
water area.
It would be fair to say that McGregor is a summer town. The town and its population depend heavily

It s almost as if you are swimming in beer. My favorite thing about the lake is that the lake floor is
pure sand. I hate going into a lake and having bottom be all mucky. The sand floor of Big Sandy feels
wonderful on the feet, and this is where the name Big Sandy came from. The lake also has beautiful
shorelines. Most often the shores lead into sloping hills full of trees, but there are a few areas with
natural sand beaches that stretch for hundreds of yards. Wildlife is always in abundance at Big Sandy.
Everything from bears, deer (which I have actually seen swimming in the lake on a couple of
occasions, to huge eagles, hawks, and turkey vultures. Fishing is also excellent for most kinds of fish
in Minnesota, and there are some big uns in there as well (just last summer I saw a huge Northern Pike
sticking its head out of the water).
Big Sandy has some history to it as well. There is an Island called Battle Island, and this is where the
Chippewa drove the Sioux out of the area for good in one big battle in the year 1777. An interesting
thing about this is that experts say that a part of the lake leading to the island wasn t underwater back
then.
Things are quite different now around Big Sandy than they were back then. The area around the lake
has been quite developed and shows no signs of slowing down. Cabins are being put up left and right.

An Argument For Rose In The Hall Of Fame
Baseball is the only field of endeavor where a man can succeed three times out of ten, and be
considered a good performer. Ted Williams. When referring to all time greats in the world of baseball
you will hear about the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, Jackie Robinson,
and Ernie Banks. None of these men have the most hits in baseball s storied history. The man that
does, however, is not in the Hall of Fame.
There have only been 15,213 men to play in the MLB, only 29 of those accumulated 3,000 career hits.
Peter Edward Rose Sr, better known as just Pete, played Major League Baseball for 23 years. In his

to Forgive Pete Rose and Put Him in Hall of Fame?) Similarly, Hall of Fame second baseman Joe
Morgan thinks it is long past time for his long time teammate Pete Rose to join him in Cooperstown. I
think if you are going to allow guys with PEDs on the ballot, then we have to allow him on the Ballot,
Morgan told USA Today. Let s face it, he s been punished for 24 years. I think they have to take a
second look at Pete now that this (Biogenesis) has come out . (Joe Morgan: Time for Hall of Fame to

would be valid. The right question to ask is What will not reinstating Pete Rose due for baseball?
(Rethinking Rose s Reinstatement) He wouldn t be immediately inducted into Cooperstown if
reinstated. Major League Baseball s Committee will have to vote Pete Rose in the Hall of Fame if the
ban were removed. The Hall of Fame is controlled by Major League Baseball, nevertheless there is no
Hall of Fame without the players. If the players were to show a united front for Rose, it could mean a
great deal to the Commissioner and other high ranking baseball officials (Should Pete Rose Be in the
Hall of Fame? Let the Voters Decide). For his enshrinement into Cooperstown Pete would need 75%
of the votes of the 65 member committee. If Rose were to be reinstated, he would not appear on the

Disadvantages Of Technology And Media
Impacts of Technology and Media Baym (2015), Murthy (2013), and Andrejevic (2013) together
demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages that technology and media have on today s society.
These three authors provide multiple thoughts that relate to each other, but also have different
outlooks on many other points. Social media allows the immediate spread of information. While
Twitter has negative effects on humans, some research shows that there it is possible to have positive
outcomes as well. Murthy (2013) focuses on how Twitter has helped shape communication in today s
world. Unlike most social media sites, Twitter uses a 140 character count to ensure messages are
concise. Translating complex thoughts into just one hundred or so words can be challenging for most,
but the message will turn out just as powerful, if not more. Baym (2015) stated that new technology
could have a positive impact on families In the context of contemporary digital media, the hope
remains that new communication technologies will bring families and loved ones together (p. 41). For
example, if a child had something to say to their parents that was very important, they might feel more
comfortable doing it through technology. People find it easier to text or post something rather than
saying it face to face because it gives people more time to choose the perfect wording. Once a person
say something verbally, there is no delete key to take back the words that were said. New forms of
technology and media are being used without forethought, which is causing mania, panic, and
misinformation. Baym (2013) proposes different theories to support the various consequences of
machines. Technological determinism being one of her perspectives, argues that machines change
humans (Baym, 2015, p. 27). An example of machines altering humans would be the constant desire
to have the newest technological device. Not only is it a negative aspect to be controlled by machines,

Searching. Ben Was At Home On A Saturday Night Waiting
Searching
Ben was at home on a Saturday night waiting on his wife. He had made reservations at her favourite
restaurant. When Ben last called Claire she said she would be home in an hour. It had been two hours
and there was still no sign of Claire. It was not usual of her to leave Ben uninformed. Ben s concern
grew and just as he got up to call her, there was a loud knock on the door. Ben knew it was Claire;
after 6 years of marriage, he recognised her annoyingly loud knock. Where have you been? Ben asked.
Nowhere, I just missed my bus she replied. Well we can t make it for our reservation anymore he said
frustratingly, how about I cook something quickly? You must be starving.

Claire entered the flat, he watched her from the corner of the hallway trying to remain inconspicuous.
He silently stood with his ear close the door, attempting to eavesdrop on the chatter coming from
within the flat. He could not make out anything. Just as he was about to bang on the door, he noticed
an air vent near the door and peaked through it.
From there he saw Claire. She was perched on the floor: participating in what, to him, looked like
some sort ritual. A Séance. The woman who was leading the ritual was very strange looking, sort of,
how you would expect a clairvoyant, or is it a medium to look like, Ben thought. He could not believe
his eyes; never in a million years would he expect Claire to engage in such a thing. After all, they were
both university graduates, well educated people. Ben thought he knew Claire well enough to know she
would never do take part in such a thing or believe in these rituals.
He spent the whole day questioning why she would do this, but even after having spent the entire day
thinking, he could not come to any conclusion. He decided to contact his therapist to talk about the
situation and settle his mind on what he should do. His therapist was the only person Ben ever spoke
to about his feelings and emotions. The only person he spoke about Claire to. Ben had told Claire
about the therapy sessions and recommended that she could take talk to someone too; she rejected him

Kangaroo Care And Pre Term And Low Birth Weight Babies Essay
The article Kangaroo care in Pre term and Low Birth Weight Babies in a Postnatal Ward was written
by Sarah Gregson and Jonathan Blacker and was published in the British Journal of Midwifery. This
study was the first in the UK to investigate Kangaroo care for stable low birth weight infants and
infants at risk for hypoglycemia in a transitional care/ postnatal ward setting. The purpose of this
cohort study was to compare the effects of Kangaroo care (skin to skin contact with mother) on length
of stay, feeding, and parent satisfaction for premature, low birth weight, and babies born to diabetic
mothers versus standard care in the control group. The study took place at Pembury Hospital in the
United Kingdom from November 2009 to August 2010. The sample was obtained from pregnant
women educated about the study by their midwives. Inclusion criteria to participate in the study
included gestation of 34 36 weeks, small for gestational age less than the 2nd percentile, and babies of
diabetic mothers. A total of 179 women were eligible for the study, however, forty eight were not
asked to participate and twenty four declined. Two women withdrew from the study after interventions
had been implemented. The sample size was calculated using a joint statistical and pragmatic
assessment to represent a true mean difference of one day in length of stay with a power of 80% at
95% level of significance. The study involved a total of 214 infants, 107 in the study group and 107 in

The Effect Of Temperature On The Reaction Rate Of...
Aim: To investigate the effect of temperature on the reaction rate of hydrochloric acid and magnesium.
Introduction: Chemistry happens everywhere, not just in a lab. Matter interacts to form new
substances through a process called a chemical reaction. Your body lives and grows because of
chemical reactions, whether by taking medicine or even a breath. A chemical reaction is defined as the
process that involves rearrangement of the ionic structure of a substance. A reaction rate is how fast or
slow a reaction takes place. Chemicals that proceed quickly have a fast reaction rate, whereas slowly
proceeding chemicals have a slow reaction rate. There are many ways to increase the reaction rate of
chemicals, for example temperature. If the temperature of the substance is increased, the particles
would have higher kinetic energy resulting in more more collisions. A greater proportion of collisions
results in a reaction. Magnesium and Hydrochloric Acid are the two chemicals investigated
throughout. Magnesium is an important supplement in the human body as well as its uses in many
lightweight products such as car seats, luggage as well as fireworks and sparklers. Hydrochloric Acid
can be found in the human body as a digestive acid.
Question: Does temperature make a reaction rate change?
Hypothesis: If Hydrochloric Acid Magnesium were placed in hot water then it is expected that the
reaction rate would be faster than the substance placed in cold water.

Essay American Empire
Michael Cox s thesis as outlined in Empire by Denial? Debating US Power , is chiefly that: the United
States of America is an empire, and that current beliefs to the contrary are the result of denialism due
to negative connotations associated with the concept of empire, not due to a lack of suitability of that
term to describe the current state of American foreign policy. The first issue which Cox raises is that
of a lack of understanding of and study into the concept of empire by current research in the field of
international relations (Cox 2004, p230). This element would appear to be sound, but only in so far as
it relates to Cox s other assertion that the orthodoxy of American society and academia are opposed to
labelling America an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His argument becomes unconvincing when it becomes clear that Cox is playing the role of both
legislature and judiciary, crafting the terms to meet his needs and then applying them. Whilst the
underlying evidence he presents is sound, the multitude of conflicting arguments make clear the
selectivity in evidence employed in order to reach these conclusions (Security Dialogue 2004). As
with any argument though concerning matters of perspective, both our own status as outsiders, and
that of Cox, being himself British born (FORA.tv 2007), lead credence to Cox s assertion of an
American empire, himself asserting the supposed obviousness of his thesis to anyone outside of the
USA. Recognising and accounting for this though, the evidence offered about the many non standard
forms of empire are still sound. Fisher (1984) highlights the success of British incorporation of local
political structures into its empire, and Cox s contention that American promotion of seemingly anti
imperial ideas of democracy and self determination are not in contradiction to its presiding over an
empire are sound on examination of the underlying elements. The cohesive strength of an American
empire lies not in the hard power capabilities of the USA to enforce their will, but in the loose and
forgiving way in which it rules

The army s goals establish a clear sample of developing implementation strategies, and the importance

First, the Understanding ERP system life cycles from inception to operations and the effects on today s

Essay on Women and Consumer Behaviour
Women and Consumer Behaviour
INTRODUCTION
Consumer behaviour can be defined as the acts of individuals directly involved in obtaining and using
economic and services, including the decision process that precede and determine these acts. (Engel et
al, 1968, p 5)
Buyer behaviour refers to the acts of individuals directly involved in the exchange of money for
economic goods and services and the decision process that determined these act. (Engel et al, 1968, p
5).
Both consumer and buyer behaviour differ amongst the population as people have different wants and

In each society, the culture of that society has a functional purpose. It provides values, beliefs,
attitudes, and behaviours that facilitate human interaction. The culture of a working woman will be
very different from that of a non working female.
Spiro, R.L studies show that Strodtbect, I. L. found cultural differences with respect to the roles of
females were related to differences in decision making. This is because both groups will have different
beliefs and attitudes due to the way they have been nurtured.
Social
In a materialist society economic well being much determines what social class you are in. If this was
the case, than working women would be in a much higher class than non working. However focusing
primarily on income fails to recognise the differences in spending of disposal income characteristics of
social classes. For example a teacher who earns the same as a truck driver will spend their money in
distinctly different ways, the service and goods will not be the same. (Runyon, K.E 1980). Working
women may spend their money on socialising i.e. with friends etc. whereas a non working woman
may have children and therefore spend much money on the family
Social class differences are variations in life styles, in values, interpersonal attitudes and self
perception. These differences influence consumer behaviour, shopping patterns, and effective
communications.
Therefore marketing practitioners should understand that

Value At Risk And Risk Management
Value at Risk Framework or VAR framework is mainly used for financial risk management or
financial mathematics in measuring the risk element on a definite portfolio of financial assets, present
in any economic organization. This particular portfolio comprises of time event and probability, which
states the threshold of the risk loss value over the period of time. These risk loss values are assumed to
be according to the market to market pricing, no trading and normal market which contributes in this
risk valued portfolio. The risk management of Value at Risk is done by risk managers which are
responsible for measuring and controlling the risk levels that are present in an organization.
Considering the modern portfolio theory, the third constituent of portfolio is amount of investment
which then creates a mean variance framework risk. This framework risk is defined in terms of
possible variation in the expected portfolio which will describe the risk value loss in financial assets of
an economic organization.
The Value at Risk framework and management help an organization in analyzing the risk loss in the
financial resources, which increase its use in many businesses, organizations and institutions. (Hassan,
2009) The organization use this VAR framework in analyzing the potential losses in many risk
management ideas which include stress testing, backtesting, expected shortfall, tail conditional
expectation and economic capital. These are the few important ideas that have been

The Legal Relationship Between Company And Its Members Essay
Corporation origin from the Latin word Corpus which means body. It is formed by a group of people
and has separate rights and liability from those individual. In any means, corporation exists
independently from its owner and this principle is called the doctrine of separate personality. Doctrine
of separate personality is the basic and fundamental principle in a Company Law. This principle
outline the legal relationship between company and its members. Company s assets belong to the
company not the shareholders as assets are the equity for creditors. Company must use up all its assets
to pay off the creditors if it became insolvent. The same applies to the corporation s debts. For limited
liabilities company, the shareholder liability is limited which means that the shareholder is restricted to
the number of shares they paid and not personally liable for the corporation s debts. If the company
does not have enough equity to pay off debts, the creditors cannot come after the shareholders.
However, limited liability company can be very powerful when in hands who do fraud and on
defeating creditors claims. Courts then can ignore the doctrine for exception cases and lifting the
corporate veil. Lifting the corporate veil is a situation where courts put aside limited liability and hold
a corporation s shareholders or directors personally liable for the corporation s debts.
The leading case for this doctrine is between Salomon v A Salomon Co in 1897. Salomon was a sole

As of now, most people, including yourself, are probably aware about the mishap with Dave Eggers

Controversy was clearly evident upon whether or not Zeitoun should be allocated to upcoming juniors

Difference Between Loyalty And Loyalty
Considering True Loyalty:
Loyal customers are excessively important to any business, and businesses spend great amount of their
time, energy and money analyzing and captivate those customers. However, the usual definition of a
loyal customer that we consider is a high spending customer, and that definition is imperfect.
Marketing to customers based on true loyalty requires more: complicated measurement, better spend
data, and considering that a regular customer is not the same as a loyal customer.
Traditional View of Loyalty:
Those who are Retailers commonly define a loyal customer as a high spending customer. However,

suggestions vary as to what that delightful emotion supposed to be. Various people would advise that

True loyalty exists when

Although Loyalty can be measured in behavioral conditions (repeat purchases, share of wallet, etc.), it
is a product of an emotional connection. Emotions make behavior; loyalty is produced when a product

Review of Army of Shadows Essay
In Army of Shadows (2008), Hillel Cohen reexamines the typical historical narratives about
Palestinian perspectives prior to the Nakba. Much of the discussion pertains to the changes that took
place within the mindsets of numerous groups of Palestinians during the British Mandate. It could be
beneficial to compare the approach and methodologies of Hillel Cohen s book to Ilan Pappe s The
Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine (2006) and his reassessment of Israel s historical memory. Pappe
focuses on the planning and actions that were taken to ensure an ethnically cleansed Israel and places
this in direct contrast with current perspectives of historical rhetoric. Both authors draw from a variety

One of the more important aspects of nationalism in the 1920s was how Arabic newspapers were used
to define notions of treason. Cohen assesses how one is determined to be a traitor, whether through
absentee land sales or contributions to Zionist intelligence organizations, and how this leads to violent
repression of all varieties of treason. It is interesting to note that although nationalism was becoming
rooted within Palestinian society, the notion of treason was not wholly accepted. Widespread concepts
of nationalism did not become the principal component in the basket of identities of each individual
and the one for which he is willing to kill and be killed but instead, in the 1920s, setup the
mechanisms that helped to achieve this goal: establishment of nationalist norms, coercion, and reward.
The press, the religious system..., and the educational system served as central tools to setup the
negative and positive influences into the norms of nationalism. This in turn led to the concepts of who
is a traitor and who is not. As nationalism comes into its own by the riots of 1936, the definition of
who are traitors or collaborators began to take a more specific role. Whether they were opportunists,
village leaders, patriots, or moralists, all found themselves at odds with the rising forms of
nationalism. Common responses within the Palestinian narrative

Charles I Assassination
Charles I of England and Scotland Authorizes Sunday Recreations (1633) Charles I of England and

and Charles I argued often which caused Charles to shut down parliament for long periods of time.
This later caused a civil war between the two parties. Charles I lost and was executed showing a huge
shift of the people who no longer believed the King was chosen by God. The primary source was first
written by James I who wished to have it read by the clergy in public, but but so strong was the
Puritan opposition to Sunday amusements that he prudently withdrew his command (The Editors of
Encyclopedia Britannica). Charles I, James I s son, agreed with his father and revisited his idea nearly
fifteen years later and forced the clergy to read the text aloud. The clergy were still not open to the

Failure of design:
Having failed to contain the product within the storage tanks, there was reliance on a bund retaining
wall around the tank (secondary containment) and a system of drains and catchment areas (tertiary

History of Cellphone
History of Cell Phones The history of mobile phones records the development of interconnection
between the public switched telephone systems to radio transceivers. From the earliest days of
transmitting speech by radio, connection of the radio system to the telephone network had obvious
benefits of eliminating the wires. Early systems used bulky, high power consuming equipment and
supported only a few conversations at a time, with required manual set up of the interconnection.
Today cellular technology and microprocessor control systems allow automatic and pervasive use of
mobile phones for voice and data. The transmission of speech by radio has a long and varied history

In 1969 Amtrak equipped commuter trains along the 225 mile New York Washington route with
special pay phones that allowed passengers to place telephone calls while the train was moving. The
system re used six frequencies in the 450 MHZ band in nine sites, a precursor of the concept later
applied in cellular telephones. [2] In December 1971, AT T submitted a proposal for cellular service to
the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). After years of hearings, the FCC approved the
proposal in 1982 forAdvanced Mobile Phone System (AMPS) and allocated frequencies in the 824
894 MHz band.[6] Analog AMPS was eventually superseded by Digital AMPS in 1990. A cellular
telephone switching plan was described by Fluhr and Nussbaum in 1973,[7] and a cellular telephone
data signaling system was described in 1977 by Hachenburg et al.[8] In 1979 a U.S. Patent 4,152,647
was issued to Charles A. Gladden and Martin H. Parelman, of Las Vegas for an emergency cellular
system for rapid deployment in areas where there was no cellular service. Emergence of commercial
mobile phone service Alongside the early developments outlined above, a different technology was
also growing in popularity. Two way mobile radios (known as mobile rigs) were used in vehicles such
as taxicabs, police cruisers, and ambulances, but were not mobile phones, because they were not
connected to the telephone network. The first fully automated mobile phone system for vehicles was
launched in Sweden in 1960. Named

  • 2. Who Is Walt Disney A Hero Walt Disney created his iconic character, Mickey Mouse, in the 1930s. The Mickey Mouse character is widely recognizable as an American icon, and provides the foundation, along with a host of other recognizable characters, for the Walt Disney empire. The Disneyland Theme Park opened in 1955 in California, while the Walt Disney World park opened in Florida in 1971 (Ferrell Hirt, 2013). In 1983, the Walt Disney Company expanded beyond the United States, opening a park in Japan that would be followed in the coming decades by parks in France and China (Ferrell Hirt, 2013). Investigate the rate of reaction between HCl and Na2S 2O3 For this piece of coursework we are investigating the rates of reaction and he effect different changes have on them. The rate of reaction is the rate of loss of a reactant or the rate of formation of a product during a chemical reaction. We are studying the affect of changing concentration of Na2S2O3 Solution and dilute HCl. I believe these variables will affect the rate of reaction: · Surface area · Pressure · Temperature · Catalyst · Concentration Concentration ============= If the concentration of a solution is increased there are more reactant particles per unit volume. This increased the probability of reactant particles colliding with each other. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During my preliminary experiment in which sulphur was made the speed at which the precipitate of the solid was produced was used to measure the speed of the reaction. Na2S2 O3(aq) + 2HCl(aq) 2NaCl(aq) + H2O(i) + SO2(g) + S(s) Prediction I predict that as the temperature is increased the rate of reaction will increase. I also predict that as the concentration of the sodium thiosulphate increases the rate of reaction will increase. When the temperature is increased the particles will have more energy and this would enable them to move faster. This will make them collide more often and with more energy. Particles with more energy are more likely to overcome the activation energy barrier to reaction; this would make them react successfully. If solutions of reacting particles are made more concentrated there are more particles in the area. Method Experiment 1 Changing the concentration

Throughout the store the denim is merchandised perfectly the skinny and bootcut denim styles are easily accessible and arranged in logical order by brand, style, and color to make shopping easy. #8 Markdowns Markdown Areas A:  We could tell just by looking at the items why they were marked down they were all summer styles, out of season lighter denim washes, and tops are sleeveless tanks in a bright range of colors. B:  The prices in the denim range from $79.97 to $119.97 the tops range from $17.97 to $34.97. The items seem to be properly priced however now that the temperature seems to be dropping, I would expect the prices on the tops especially be slashed again. Even though the denim on sale consists of mostly lighter colors, they can still be worn year round so they most likely will not see too many huge markdowns for the change of weather. C: The Buckle location that we visited has a huge Forever 21 store to compete with about three stores down. Buckle carries a range of premium

Women, while are making strides, they are still not equal to men. As seen in Hamilton women are just as capable to perform the same job as men and, in many instances, do the job better. Whether it is inequality with slaves, even leading to some hypocrisy, or with women, some of the key values within Hamilton are revolve around the fact of equality. In the play, if all people where believed as equal, some of the role characters such as Angelica, could play a larger factor in the play. To begin let s talk about gender equality. This is a large issue, one that which has plagued America for centuries. Angelica is called by experts to be the smartest character within the play. This is somewhat astounding because she is facing some of the brightest men in history, including Burr, George Washington, and Alexander Hamilton himself. In the play, there is a common motif of My Shot . In fact, one of the songs in the play itself is called My Shot . This particular song speaks to how Hamilton as well as other character are not going to squander their shot at making America great and free from British rule. In the song Hamilton sings I am not throwing away my shot! I am not throwing away my shot! Hey yo, I m just like my country I m young, scrappy and hungry And I m not throwing away my shot! Looking at social media networks, the average number of selfies posted or status updates on even the most mundane daily activities is remarkable. Are these true signs of a rise in narcissism in today s youth or just normal self expression made possible through technology? Pointing out that much of the volunteering that is done by millennials is not coming from within, but is mostly attributed to the fact that colleges take community service into consideration for admission and more high schools are making it a requirement for graduation. This is taking a small sample of the millennial population and not looking at the whole. According to William Strauss and Neil Howe, authors of Will the Real Gen Y Please Stand Up , A healthy civic indicator is the boom in youth volunteering, a finding the Egos study discounts because so many high schools require community service. But other indicators point to the same positive trend. Voting rates for Americans 25 and younger have surged since the late 1990 s. According to the UCLA College Freshman survey, 76% of new college arrivals, a record high, now say that raising a family is a very important goal and a record low, only 27%, agree that realistically, there is little an individual can do to change society. Romero Instructor: Jonathan Cook ENG 231.190 American Literature I 22 October 2014 Puritan verse eighteen century deist thinking Throughout history man s view of God has constantly evolved. During the formation of America this is made evident when the 17th century Puritan idealism is confronted with 18th century Enlightenment. This collision of religious ideas would spark a change, and a new age in America. My research will shows the original American settlers had concepts and, emerging different understanding of the biblical scripture and, needed to come to grips with social and religious freedom from being exclusive to being more inclusive. Puritans traveled to New England in the early seventeenth century. They believed that economic and political force, and religious disagreements were creating a decline in English society. It is important to note that Puritans were non separatists, meaning that they wanted to reform the Church of England, not abandon it. (Baym 165) The first colony that the Puritans set up was north of Plymouth, at Massachusetts Bay. However, after finding a gap in the charter they received from King Charles I the Puritans moved their capital to Salem, Massachusetts. John Winthrop, the first governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, the Massachusetts Puritans sought to create their City upon a hill with laws and rules based on their religious rules. • 13. How Ultra s Customer Database Meets The Not Generally... II. Not Generally Known or Readily Ascertainable C A court is likely to find that Ultra s customer database meets the not generally known or readily ascertainable element. R In determining whether information is not generally known or readily ascertainable, courts consider the following two Restatement factors: the extent to which the information is known outside of the business and the ease or difficulty with which the information could be properly acquired or duplicated by others. Al Minor, 117 Ohio St. 3d at 61 (citing Plain Dealer, 80 Ohio St. 3d at 524 25). To determine whether the information is not generally known or readily ascertainable is if a trade secret owner collected and/or compiled the information from a variety of sources, thus this may support a finding that the information is not generally known or readily ascertainable. • 14. Analysis Of The Book Alice s Adventures Essay Alice s Adventures AnnaMarie Bethune Northeast Alabama Community College Enraged from the recent conversation with her aunt and uncle, Alice storms out the door. Headed to her usual spot beneath the old Willow near the edge of the forest, she runs full speed down the hill, hopefully relieving some of her anger. As she stops at the edge of the forest, book in hand, now sitting, she can t help but notice her veins flooding with adrenaline. She s so mad she can t sit still. Alice jumps up and begins walking through the woods, at a rather fast pace, she suddenly stops at the sound of an odd noise. Frozen, she slowly turns to see that there s a rather small cat staring up at her. As she bends down to pet it, she sees another one, and another, until there are more than thirty cats surrounding her. Unnerved, Alice sets off at a sprint, hurdling over the rotten log fallen across her path. Finally, she s outrun them. Alice stops as she comes to a clearing almost tripping over something. Searching for what she has stumbled into, she sees a glimpse of royal blue covered in thick layers of weeds and vines. Hastily pulling the vines from their tangled chaos, Alice finally reveals an old pot . Appeared to be worn and rusting, blue paint chipping, the once gold flowers now brown, Alice notices a large ceramic plate fitted to the top of the pot. Afraid but curious, she slowly lifts the side. Throughout most of human history, breast milk has been the one food that infants have thrived on. Breastfeeding is recognized throughout the world as the preferred method of feeding infants due to its health benefits and nutritional quality. An infant who is breastfed receives added health benefits compared to a child who is formula fed. In the first few days after birth, the breast milk is comprised of protein, vitamins A and E, and antibodies which help protect the infant from infection. After the first few days, the mature breast milk contains fats and cholesterol, which are essential for the growth and development of the infant s nervous system, eyes, and brain. It also contains micronutrients calcium and magnesium, which are beneficial to the infant s growth (Thompson et al., 2010). Because of all the healthy components to breast milk, there is significant research showing that children who are breastfed have reduction in diseases, healthier bodies and mouths, and long term health benefits as well. Research has shown that one of the greatest benefits is a reduction in Type 1 and 2 diabetes. It has been shown that children than develop diabetes have had little or no consumption of human milk. It has also been revealed that children who were fed cereal before four months of age are at a greater risk of developing Type 1 diabetes. Infants who are exclusively breastfed also show a reduction in Chron s disease, ulcerative colitis, Hodgkin s, leukemia, and some childhood lymphomas as lifelong conditions. Because human milk allows for longer maturing of the infant s stomach, there are fewer incidences of asthma and allergies (Ryan, 2012). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. Film Noir Film Analysis Film Noir is a style that first originated during the early 1940s, influenced by the tumultuous social and political environment of World War II. These style of films was a subversion from the conventional gangster films of the 1920s and 1930s. The resurgence of Noir style films in the 1970s retained the themes of crime, vice and moral ambiguity, but updated the content due to the relaxation of the Production Code. In this dissertation, the origins of film noir and its techniques will be examined, with the films The Third Man (Carol Reed, 1949), and L.A Confidential (Curtis Hanson, 1997) contrasted to highlight the impact of the Production Code. According to Paul Schrader s Notes on Film Noir (1972), there are four catalysts that spawned the film noir style: Post war disillusionment, a desire for realism, Germanic influences and the hardboiled tradition1. During World War II, the prominence of dark, brooding Film Noir was overpowered by the American propaganda produced, but changed after the tragedy of World War II, as American audiences accepted a less optimistic view of society. This desire for realism is highlighted by the artificial optimism of previous films pre World War II. Furthermore, The hardboiled narratives of the 1930s influenced Film Noir through their tough , defeatist attitude of characters who reside in a cynical atmosphere. • 22. Disadvantages Of Technology And Media Impacts of Technology and Media Baym (2015), Murthy (2013), and Andrejevic (2013) together demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages that technology and media have on today s society. These three authors provide multiple thoughts that relate to each other, but also have different outlooks on many other points. Social media allows the immediate spread of information. While Twitter has negative effects on humans, some research shows that there it is possible to have positive outcomes as well. Murthy (2013) focuses on how Twitter has helped shape communication in today s world. Unlike most social media sites, Twitter uses a 140 character count to ensure messages are concise. Translating complex thoughts into just one hundred or so words can be challenging for most, but the message will turn out just as powerful, if not more. Baym (2015) stated that new technology could have a positive impact on families In the context of contemporary digital media, the hope remains that new communication technologies will bring families and loved ones together (p. 41). For example, if a child had something to say to their parents that was very important, they might feel more comfortable doing it through technology. People find it easier to text or post something rather than saying it face to face because it gives people more time to choose the perfect wording. Once a person say something verbally, there is no delete key to take back the words that were said. New forms of technology and media are being used without forethought, which is causing mania, panic, and misinformation. Baym (2013) proposes different theories to support the various consequences of machines. Technological determinism being one of her perspectives, argues that machines change humans (Baym, 2015, p. 27). An example of machines altering humans would be the constant desire to have the newest technological device. Not only is it a negative aspect to be controlled by machines, but it can also be detrimental to the human character to believe that in order to function properly one must have the most advanced machine by their side. • 28. The Effect Of Temperature On The Reaction Rate Of... Aim: To investigate the effect of temperature on the reaction rate of hydrochloric acid and magnesium. Introduction: Chemistry happens everywhere, not just in a lab. Matter interacts to form new substances through a process called a chemical reaction. Your body lives and grows because of chemical reactions, whether by taking medicine or even a breath. A chemical reaction is defined as the process that involves rearrangement of the ionic structure of a substance. A reaction rate is how fast or slow a reaction takes place. Chemicals that proceed quickly have a fast reaction rate, whereas slowly proceeding chemicals have a slow reaction rate. There are many ways to increase the reaction rate of chemicals, for example temperature. If the temperature of the substance is increased, the particles would have higher kinetic energy resulting in more more collisions. A greater proportion of collisions results in a reaction. Magnesium and Hydrochloric Acid are the two chemicals investigated throughout. Magnesium is an important supplement in the human body as well as its uses in many lightweight products such as car seats, luggage as well as fireworks and sparklers. Hydrochloric Acid can be found in the human body as a digestive acid. Question: Does temperature make a reaction rate change? Hypothesis: If Hydrochloric Acid Magnesium were placed in hot water then it is expected that the reaction rate would be faster than the substance placed in cold water. Justification of ... • 35. The Legal Relationship Between Company And Its Members Essay Corporation origin from the Latin word Corpus which means body. It is formed by a group of people and has separate rights and liability from those individual. In any means, corporation exists independently from its owner and this principle is called the doctrine of separate personality. Doctrine of separate personality is the basic and fundamental principle in a Company Law. This principle outline the legal relationship between company and its members. Company s assets belong to the company not the shareholders as assets are the equity for creditors. Company must use up all its assets to pay off the creditors if it became insolvent. The same applies to the corporation s debts. For limited liabilities company, the shareholder liability is limited which means that the shareholder is restricted to the number of shares they paid and not personally liable for the corporation s debts. If the company does not have enough equity to pay off debts, the creditors cannot come after the shareholders. However, limited liability company can be very powerful when in hands who do fraud and on defeating creditors claims. Courts then can ignore the doctrine for exception cases and lifting the corporate veil. • 36. Zeitoun Thesis As of now, most people, including yourself, are probably aware about the mishap with Dave Eggers and his award winning novel Zeitoun. Soon after the release of his narrative, the hidden violence of the Zeitoun couple was disclosed to the public. Evidently proven, there has morosely been a history of domestic violence and rage with Abdulrahman Zeitoun beating his wife with extreme measures. Controversy was clearly evident upon whether or not Zeitoun should be allocated to upcoming juniors in the summer after the released report. I firmly stand by prohibiting the reading of Zeitoun for forthcoming 11th graders of Mills High School. The series of unfortunate events has completely ruined the positive outlook on the novel and is slowly, but surely, destroying the reputation of Muslims and their faith. First of all, Zeitoun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We are currently living in a world where Islamic terrorism is unfortunately showering the globe. Muslims are constantly being bombarded with the accusations of being terrorists and overall violent beings, which is rarely the case. Being a Muslim myself, I try to break and prevent this stereotype with any chance I have because it is truly heartbreaking to see a religion become hated in the public eye. Abdulrahman Zeitoun is sadly a rare example of this stereotype. In an article written by Victoria Patterson in the LA Review of Books, Patterson contentedly recounts Zeitoun s character in Egger s novel as a loving family man peaceful, calm, and devoted to his wife . Pride ran through my body when a Muslim was famous for his life saving actions, not his terrorist operations. My whole mindset turned bitter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Review of Army of Shadows Essay In Army of Shadows (2008), Hillel Cohen reexamines the typical historical narratives about Palestinian perspectives prior to the Nakba. Much of the discussion pertains to the changes that took place within the mindsets of numerous groups of Palestinians during the British Mandate. It could be beneficial to compare the approach and methodologies of Hillel Cohen s book to Ilan Pappe s The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine (2006) and his reassessment of Israel s historical memory. Pappe focuses on the planning and actions that were taken to ensure an ethnically cleansed Israel and places this in direct contrast with current perspectives of historical rhetoric. One of the more important aspects of nationalism in the 1920s was how Arabic newspapers were used to define notions of treason. Cohen assesses how one is determined to be a traitor, whether through absentee land sales or contributions to Zionist intelligence organizations, and how this leads to violent repression of all varieties of treason. It is interesting to note that although nationalism was becoming rooted within Palestinian society, the notion of treason was not wholly accepted. Widespread concepts of nationalism did not become the principal component in the basket of identities of each individual and the one for which he is willing to kill and be killed but instead, in the 1920s, setup the mechanisms that helped to achieve this goal: establishment of nationalist norms, coercion, and reward. The press, the religious system..., and the educational system served as central tools to setup the negative and positive influences into the norms of nationalism. This in turn led to the concepts of who is a traitor and who is not. As nationalism comes into its own by the riots of 1936, the definition of who are traitors or collaborators began to take a more specific role. Whether they were opportunists, village leaders, patriots, or moralists, all found themselves at odds with the rising forms of nationalism. Common responses within the Palestinian narrative ... He faced criticisms and suspicions due to his more Catholic way of ruling. He was an Anglican and to the Puritan English people, this was not a good thing. Parliament and Charles I argued often which caused Charles to shut down parliament for long periods of time. This later caused a civil war between the two parties. Charles I lost and was executed showing a huge shift of the people who no longer believed the King was chosen by God. The primary source was first written by James I who wished to have it read by the clergy in public, but but so strong was the Puritan opposition to Sunday amusements that he prudently withdrew his command (The Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica). • 44. History of Cellphone History of Cell Phones The history of mobile phones records the development of interconnection between the public switched telephone systems to radio transceivers. From the earliest days of transmitting speech by radio, connection of the radio system to the telephone network had obvious benefits of eliminating the wires. Early systems used bulky, high power consuming equipment and supported only a few conversations at a time, with required manual set up of the interconnection. Today cellular technology and microprocessor control systems allow automatic and pervasive use of mobile phones for voice and data. The transmission of speech by radio has a long and varied history going back to Reginald Fessenden s invention and shore to ship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1969 Amtrak equipped commuter trains along the 225 mile New York Washington route with special pay phones that allowed passengers to place telephone calls while the train was moving. The system re used six frequencies in the 450 MHZ band in nine sites, a precursor of the concept later applied in cellular telephones. [2] In December 1971, AT T submitted a proposal for cellular service to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). After years of hearings, the FCC approved the proposal in 1982 forAdvanced Mobile Phone System (AMPS) and allocated frequencies in the 824 894 MHz band.[6] Analog AMPS was eventually superseded by Digital AMPS in 1990. A cellular telephone switching plan was described by Fluhr and Nussbaum in 1973,[7] and a cellular telephone data signaling system was described in 1977 by Hachenburg et al.[8] In 1979 a U.S. Patent 4,152,647 was issued to Charles A. Gladden and Martin H. Parelman, of Las Vegas for an emergency cellular system for rapid deployment in areas where there was no cellular service. Emergence of commercial mobile phone service Alongside the early developments outlined above, a different technology was also growing in popularity. Two way mobile radios (known as mobile rigs) were used in vehicles such as taxicabs, police cruisers, and ambulances, but were not mobile phones, because they were not connected to the telephone network. The first fully automated mobile phone system for vehicles was launched in Sweden in 1960. Named ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
