CloudDiscovery allows users to get a full assessment of their current infrastructure and the data needed to achieve a successful migration to the cloud. It provides a user-friendly interface that lays out the configuration, desktop use information, and compute information within their network.
Your servers, our Cloud, the best service in the industry. RapidScale gives you on-demand capacity with the best infrastructure tools and utilities in the industry.
The goal of CloudServer is to provide a flexible, standardized and virtualized operating environment that allows applications to perform at their peak without downtime. Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) abstracts hardware (server, storage and network infrastructure) into a pool of computing, storage and connectivity capabilities that are delivered as services for a usage-based (metered) cost. Leveraging our infrastructure allows you to operate like an enterprise-level organization, no matter what size you are.
With CloudServer, you will also receive the benefits of Disaster Recovery. There are a myriad of ways to lose equipment and data, whether it is fire, theft or malfunctioning sprinklers. RapidScale’s CloudServer houses your data in secure Tier 3, Class 1 data centers that are mirrored and securely backed up. This gives your services the ability to be quickly back on-line and running smoothly in the event of a disaster. Our infrastructure resides in multiple data centers so clients can be assured that their business critical applications and data will be fully redundant in a different data center, making it easier to resume business as usual.
CloudServer has a pay-as-you-go model which allows you to scale up or down depending on your needs. Quickly seize new opportunities and get projects up and running with the scalability of our solution. When it comes to pricey hardware, you can save a lot by using our infrastructure and buying only what you use. With IaaS, eliminate the many negative aspects of IT expansion, especially issues with in-house infrastructure, while still receiving the processing power and storage space that you need to run.
CloudServer is based off of enterprise-class infrastructure at a fraction of the costs with 24x7x365 friendly and reliable support. We care about your business’ uptime objectives and security, which is why RapidScale has worked hard to become a leader in CloudServer. With your applications built into a private cloud environment that includes encryption, firewalls and advanced around-the-clock monitoring, they will remain safe and secure. Operate worry-free, knowing that you always have RapidScale’s support.
With your infrastructure hosted off-site, you free up your IT staff to focus on value-added tasks, such as planning and development, instead of running around patching machines and fixing bugs. Reduce risk, eliminate headaches and save money with CloudServer.

This document discusses managing VMware environments across multiple regions and vCenters. It summarizes that a true VMware private cloud provides self-service provisioning, orchestration using application blueprints, metering for chargeback/showback, monitoring, self-healing and upgrades. It also discusses managing multiple regions from a central view, using DevOps tools with REST APIs, and providing multi-tenancy with quotas for multiple tenants. Live demos are presented on multi-vCenter/hypervisor clouds and multi-tenancy with quotas.
Patterns and Practices of a Successful DevOps TransformationChef
This document discusses patterns and practices for a successful DevOps transformation. It outlines key challenges organizations face with manual processes, silos, and infrequent releases. The document then presents patterns for overcoming these challenges through cloud automation, continuous delivery, and reinforcing a DevOps culture. Examples are provided of organizations that have successfully transformed. The document concludes that infrastructure and applications must be rapidly and safely deployed through automation, cloud technologies, and cultural changes to achieve a DevOps transformation.
Chef Automate provides a full-stack collaboration platform to help organizations achieve DevOps success by managing infrastructure, containers, applications, and compliance through automation. It addresses barriers to DevOps adoption like disparate tooling and lack of skills/cultural adoption. New capabilities in Chef Automate and Compliance accelerate and de-risk adoption by providing automation, governance, and compliance as code.
Fortinet provides virtualized security solutions that can integrate with VMware NSX to enable micro-segmentation and east-west traffic control in software-defined data centers. This document discusses DevOps in networking and provides examples of using Python libraries and Ansible to programmatically configure and monitor network devices. It describes motivations for DevOps in networking like SDN technologies, availability of network automation tools, and cloud networking. Use cases presented include configuration of L2/L3 protocols and services and network monitoring. The document also discusses network APIs, models like YANG, and tools like Ansible, Python, and protocol standards. An example demonstrates using the PyEAPI Python library to read and create VLANs on an Arista switch and using Ansible to get LLDP neighbors from a Cisco device.
Uchit Vyas gave a presentation on infrastructure automation using Chef at the DevOps Summit in Pune. Chef is an open-source tool that allows users to define infrastructure as code and automate the deployment and configuration of servers. It uses Ruby scripts and a library of reusable components called cookbooks to manage and deploy server configurations. During a Chef client run, it registers nodes, synchronizes cookbooks, compiles resources, and configures nodes to match the defined infrastructure code.
Webinar recording: www.nginx.com/resources/webinars/how-to-adopt-infrastructure-as-code
Modern applications are increasingly deployed in containers and virtual machines on clusters of dozens, hundreds, and even thousands of servers – in private data centers and in the public cloud. Managing complex applications like these puts more demands than ever on infrastructure and the teams managing it. The traditional ways of manually adding, configuring, and modifying infrastructure no longer scale.
Infrastructure as Code is a new approach to managing IT infrastructure where you treat infrastructure as if it were software and data, using modern tools like version control systems and deployment orchestration. Based on software development and DevOps best practices, Infrastructure as Code makes deployment and infrastructure management more efficient than ever. Anyone who works with IT infrastructure – system administrators, infrastructure engineers, DevOps engineers, architects, software developers, and others – can implement changes more quickly, easily, and reliably.
Join us for this webinar co-hosted by Kief Morris, Cloud Practice Lead at ThoughtWorks and author of Infrastructure as Code, and Floyd Smith of NGINX, Inc. You’ll learn:
* Why Infrastructure as Code is a better approach for managing modern infrastructure
* Challenges that Infrastructure as Code helps address

Managing Your Infrastructure as Code by Travis Williams, Solutions Architect,...Amazon Web Services
This document discusses best practices for managing infrastructure on AWS using infrastructure as code. It covers choosing the right EC2 instances based on workload requirements and Intel processor technologies. It then discusses using infrastructure as code with AWS services like CloudFormation to define templates that provision AWS resources declaratively based on dependencies. The document outlines the infrastructure as code workflow and how AWS services help manage operating systems, applications, and infrastructure through code.
At Amazon Web Services, we think about Infrastructure as Code being able to impact not just your low level infrastructure or operating systems but everything from the virtual cement floor of your Amazon Virtual Private Cloud up through the applications your customers interface with.
Come take a tour of the space as we see it. Learn what layers there are to managing your infrastructure as code and what services and tools AWS and its Partners exist across these.
