My grandmother was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1933. She had one brother and two sisters. Her mother was born in Transylvania, Romania and had 9 siblings, while her father was born in Poland and had 12 siblings. Her parents met in an arranged marriage in Budapest, where they lived with her family. In 1939, when she was 5 years old, her family moved to America to escape the Holocaust, first living in Staten Island and Boston before settling in Texas for her father's job selling stockings. Her parents were married for 49 years before her father passed away.
