IMPRESSIONS “ FIRST IMPRESSION IS THE LAST IMPRESSION” GROOMING TIPS FOR MEN SHIRT Should be long sleeved and fit well Correct business shirts : Light blue or white or Stripes. 100% cotton or cotton polyester blend. Clothes should always be clean and well  pressed. SHOES & SOCKS & ACCESSORIES Leather shoes in either black or brown and  should be in good condition socks must be calf length in dark colors. Belts should match the color of your shoes. Do not wear visible jewellery expect wedding  ring. If you have pierced ears or other face parts  remove what you can GROOMING Wear a neat, short hairstyle. Men’s hair should not be  longer than their shirt collar. shave closely, nails should be neat & clean & short. use a deodorant / antiperspirant and use a light touch with colognes and  aftershaves. Do not smoke at least one hour prior to the interview.  Use a mouthwash (eat a mint just before going to the interview just in  case.

Indian or western formals can be worn. (Jeans are  out) If wearing a sari, the blouse should have a classic  look. Suits/ Dupattas should not be heavily embroidered  with gold/silver work. FOOTWEAR & ACCESSORIES Shoes or sandals, should be in good condition. Avoid thick heeled shoes/ sandals. Avoid bindis while wearing western clothes Avoid heavy jewellery, dangles, clangs or jingle  stuff Watches should be worn GROOMING HAIR – should be neat, clean, flattering, easy to  maintain and yours ( no wigs or hairpieces) MAKE UP – All women generally look better with  some make up and it should be appropriately  applied. Make should enhance your appearance,  not cover it . FRAGRANCE – A  fresh scent is usually the most appealing.  A colognes and perfumes.

Time is important for both for the interviewer and  you Be positive and try to make others feel comfortable Show openness with a handshake  and a smile. Don’t make negative comments about current or former  employer Don’t forget to relax Think of the interview as a  conversation, not an interrogation. (the interviewer is as nervous about making a good impression  as you are)

Ask if you can telephone in a few days to check the  status of your application. If they offer to contact  you,  politely ask when you should expect the call. send a Thank you note (email) follow up with a phone call
