Risks And Hazards Of Walmart
Introduction
The safety audit will be performed at a Walmart location in Orangeville, Ontario. It is the biggest
retail store worldwide with $482.1 billion in revenue and has 2.3 million associates. As I have
worked there for the summer holding an instock position in the back room unloading trucks, I have
gained knowledge and understanding on the safety issues and standards that exist within the
company.
Risks and Hazards Identified by Walmart
Walmart identifies many different risks and hazards that an employee may face during work and
believe that employees need to be aware of them. These hazards can be identified in various forms
such as: physical, ergonomic, chemical, psychological, and safety/security
Physical Hazards: can result when performing various activities around the workplace. They can
occur from the equipment that we use, such as the pumps trucks, electric pump trucks or from the
trash compactor. Employees need to be trained on how to properly use the different equipment to
ensure that they have sufficient knowledge on how to operate them safely. The training allows for
individuals to understand what to do when there is a malfunction with the equipment and how they
need to be properly reported and documented, as well as locked away so that others do not use the
broken equipment.
Other physical harms can be from slipping, which can be prevented from non–slip safety shoes that
Walmart can sell to you for 50% off. Falling from various heights can also be a

I. OBJECTIVES:
To determine the amount of anti–microbial peptide production by Staphylococcus warneri under
various conditions when 2L and 10L Fermented.
To Test the effects of one uncontrolled parameters sush as pH, Temperature or dissolved Oxygen
and compare findings.
To produce anti–microbial activity from Staphylococcus warneri.
II. INTRODUCTION:
Staphylococcus warneri is a member of bacterial genus Staphylococcus, consisting of Gram–
positive bacteria with spherical cells appearing in clusters. Colonies of S. warneri are usually tan,
yellow and about 2–4mm in diameter after 48 hours incubation at 35°C. It is commonly found as
part of the skin flora on humans and animals. S. warneri rarely causes disease, ... Show more content

This indicates that when temperature is not controlled the temperature can increase significantly. As
shows in TABLE 1.1 History Plot Vessel 1 – 2L NO Temperature control.
Vessel 2: No antimicrobial activity seen at 13:00. However antimicrobial activity seen in both neat
and 1:2 sample at 14:00 and 15:00. Antimicrobial activity seen in neat sample at 16:00 and 09:00.
When air flow is not controlled the reduced air content reduces the rate of fermentation, As Oxygen
is required for cell growth and when air is in reduced quantity this slows down rate of cell
reproduction as shows in TABLE 1.2 History Plot Vessel 2 – 2L NO Air Flow.
Vessel 3: Antimicrobial activity seen in neat sample at all time intervals. Antimicrobial activity seen
in 1:2 sample at 14:00, 16:00 and 09:00. Activity seen in 1:4 for the first time at 16:00 and 09:00.
There is greater anti–microbial peptide activity with temperature and air controls which shows that
the pH does not have significant effects as the other two parameters. The fermentation was not
affected to the same extent by pH as shown in TABLE 1.3 History Plot Vessel 3 – 2L NO pH
control.
Vessel 4: Antimicrobial activity seen in neat sample at all time intervals. Activity seen in 1:2 sample
at 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 09:00. For the first time see antimicrobial activity in

Result Analysis Of Aspirin
Introduction
Aspirin is a widely name used to refer to a chemical compound known as acetylsalicylic acid. It is
commonly used as a pain killer. Salicylic acid is extracted from the bark of willow plant. In the past,
the bark willow plant was used as the remedies for tonics and headache. Currently, salicylic acid is
administered to patients in aspirin form which is less irritating to the stomach as compared to
salicylic acid. Aspirin is synthesised by reacting excess acetic anhydride with the salicylic acid.
During its synthesis a small quantity of a strong acid is used as a catalyst. Strong phosphoric acid
was used as a catalyst in this experiment. The excess acetic acid was quenched by addition of water.
Beer's law shows the relationship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Theoretical yield of aspirin= (g=MM X mol) = (244.154g x 0.01449 moles) = 3.54g
The apparatus was set–up in fume hood. After adding 5ml of acetic anhydride and five drops of 85%
phosphoric acid into 50ml Erlenmeyer flask which contained 2.001g salicylic acid, the flask was
heated on a hot plate (75℃ ) for 15 minutes while stirring the flask's content. A butcher funnel was
then set–up for filtration of the flask's content.
The purple solution was noted after mixing 0.5ml aspirin and 0.025ml Fe (NO3)3 in volumetric
flask. Color change indicated the ions complexion point of the reaction.

Confounded Study Results
Confounded Study Results Although the outcome proved the NPCT intervention of DSME
education and medical management were effective, something other than the interventions used
could have caused other results but not confounded results. The use of multiple locations and a
larger randomized sample size may have helped avoid obstacles such as time, fuel, cost and
transportation issues and allowed for generalizability. Different outcomes could have been achieved
if individualized education plans were completed separately for the insulin dependent and non–
insulin dependent patients (Jessee & Rutledge, 2012). Some factors that were not included in this
study were the patient history, educational level, and other health risk factors of ... Show more

No clinical testing was required for sensitivity and specificity factors since the inclusion criteria
attested to these patients already having T2DM. Applicability Applicability or generalizability of a
study is the degree to which research findings can be generalized to other groups and settings (Polit
& Beck, 2012). Although, the small sample size and use of one geographic region in this study
limited generalizability, the results of the study can be applicable to those within similar programs
with the same disease process (Jessee & Rutledge, 2012). In my every day practice, though I work
with a different patient population, the results of this study show the applicability of health
education for family and patients in improving health outcomes. Even with health topics other than
diabetes, health education is pivotal to improve knowledge, self–management, and patient
compliance. With adequate knowledge in disease processes, patients can make better choices,
maintain their health, and adequately prevent complications. Though the demographic aspects will
be different, the outcome achieved in this study would remain relatively similar. Collaboration and
multi–disciplinary group visits are crucial in encompassing different aspects of health education
including realistic goal setting and creating action plans for health promotion, risk prevention, and

The Theory Of Regression Results
DESCRPTION OF REGRESSION RESULTS
In order to empirically examine the extent to which changes in price causes changes in broiler
(chicken) consumption, time–series data was collected on 40 observations extending from 1960 to
1999 on nine explanatory variables in total. I regressed this data using an Ordinary–Least Squares
(OLS) approach. The main explanatory variable used for my analysis was the consumer price index
(CPI) for whole fresh chicken with the base years denoted as the 1982 to 1984 time period. The
econometric model for my regression analysis is listed below:
Broiler Consumption = a+β_(1 ) (CPI of broilers)+ β_2 (income)+ β_3 (population)+β_(4 ) (CPI for
beef)+β_(5 ) (PPI for corn)+ β_(6 ) (NPI for broiler feed)+β_7 (CPI)+β_8 (AP of Broilers)+β_9
(population)+β_(10 ) (exports of beef,veal and pork)+ ε
Data regarding my dependent variable was originally collected as pounds consumed per capita.
However, I multiplied the per capita broiler consumption data by 100,000 to obtain broiler
consumption in pounds per 100,000 people. In this way, I was able to obtain a larger coefficient on a
few of the variables, which allowed for a more suitable display and discussion of the results in the
paper. Further, the objective of this analysis was to explain to what extent price of broilers (CPI on
whole fresh chicken) impacts broiler consumption in pounds. Specifically, the coefficients on the
explanatory variables illustrate their respective effects on the number

Significant Result
Significant Action and Result For a long time, I have lived with fear. It may be cliched to say it, but
my fear of failure has been with me for years. It was what caused my hands to shake during a
calculus test. It was what caused me to cry when I received my rejection notice from Texas A&M
University the first time I applied. In a way it has been a defining feature of my academic career,
always a shadow in the back of my mind murmuring the deadly phrase "but can you really do it?".
That small voice has been largely responsible for my reluctance to push myself academically, to
actually see what I am capable of. Last semester, my first at Texas A&M, I mustered up enough
courage to block out that voice and attempt something I had never done

Benefits Of SEO Results
As hard as it is to get good SEO results, it's even harder to get a great company. And we are not
talking about companies that promise no.1 ranking because those are many and it's safe to say that
chances are high that they are fraudsters. Even Google which is the most used search engine will tell
you that there are no.1 ranking guarantees. Aside from that, you can find a company offering SEO
services worth investing in and these four tips will help you. 1. Look For an SEO Company with
Proven Results If you want good results, you need an SEO company that has proven results.
Fortunately, there are several companies and these provide good search engine positioning services.
Obviously, a good SEO company should have great search engine ... Show more content on
Helpwriting.net ...
That said, they also shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg and usually companies will give you quotes
based on the services you need. Since services differ from client to client, it's best to go for SEO
companies that will customize your service and price as well as opposed to those that give blanket
services for all. Remember that cheap is expensive and you get what you pay for. 4. Use Reviews
and Referrals Any company that is offering SEO services will have online reviews and this is
regardless of whether or not the reviews are in their site. Reviews are great because they give you
the real deal on what to expect with the company. They are basically referrals and you can bet that
anyone who received services will vent online while those who got great results will also praise the
services online. Referrals are by far the easiest ways to get a good SEO company. Using the above
tips, finding a good company for your needs shouldn't be too difficult. That said, it is important to
note that there is no perfection when it comes to optimization and if you are looking for number one
results all the time, you are positioning yourself for a great deal of frustration. One of the best things
you can do for you if your SEO efforts don't bear much fruit is getting SEO services. These services
help you concentrate on delivering good and useful content for your clients or

Planaria Fermentation Results
After performing the experiment, the results showed that planaria were typically more successful in
regenerating when they were cut transversely at the tail than when they were decapitated at both the
one–week mark and the two–week mark. The only exception was at the one–week mark, when a
higher ratio of the top parts of the planaria fully regenerated than did the bottom parts. Even further,
the data seemed to show that the bottom part of the planaria was much more successful at
regenerating than the top part was. For example, after one week, 92.5% of the bottom part of a
planaria that was transversely cut through the tail partially regenerated, where only 55% of the top
part of the planaria that was decapitated partially regenerated. Thus, the results of this experiment
support current research that states that some areas of the planaria are able to regenerate more
quickly than other parts. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the biggest problems was that all 10 of Group 4's planaria's heads died because the worms
left the water and died during the second week. Although this was not really the experimenters'
faults, it definitely altered the results. Furthermore, while we did have multiple repetitions, the
number of repetitions was still small. Also, we did have a fairly large sample size (40), but even so,
random chance might have altered the data. It's important to recognize that there are factors that may
have caused the results to become less accurate, but because there were multiple repetitions and
many samples, the effects of random chance were likely minimized. Additionally, many people
found it hard to determine whether planaria were partially regenerated or fully regenerated, which
may have altered the data and made them less

This lab report looks how blood lactate levels are affected during an incremental cycle test with an
oxygen restriction mask and without an oxygen restriction mask. Blood lactate is lactic acid that
appears in the blood due aerobic and anaerobic training. Billat et.al (2003) states that during a
moderate cycling exercise performed during 30–50 minutes, 20% of glucose utilisation went to
lactate formation, 20% of the blood lactate appearance came from glucose. Furthermore Billat et.al
(2003) also states that the net release of lactic acid from muscle to blood is determined by the mass
of active muscle and the intensity of the activation of these muscles. Furthermore this occurs
because of insufficient oxygen delivery to the muscles, the blood ... Show more content on

VARK Survey Results VARK is a website that helps its users understand their learning styles and
ways to improve on the way they learn. VARK discovers the user's learning strengths through a
survey of questions relating to situations where these strengths would be used. After I completed the
VARK survey my results turned out to be multimodal, and I agree with the results. This means that
out of the various categories I could have been assigned, the survey revealed that I learn better from
two types of strategies combined. These two learning strategies consist of Aural strategies and
kinetic strategies. The Aural strategies are methods that suggest that I learn better from listening,

When it came to reading manuals and text, that process would take me a much longer time to

adaptation to Auroral and Kinesthetic learning strategies to my career in the United States Navy.
While I served eight years in the United States Navy my job consisted of working on the flight deck
of an aircraft carrier, and directing aircraft to launch off the carrier, and recover/land back onto the
carrier. The type of learning I experienced while in working on an aircraft carrier in the United
States Navy consisted of non–associative sensitization (Grison, S., Heatherton, T.F., Gazzangia,
M.S., p.196). The dangers surrounding this job required my supervisors to often train me through
strategies that corresponded with auroral and kinesthetic learning strategies, and it made me feel
more comfortable with the job I had. Visually and verbally understanding what my
supervisor/instructor showed me gave me assurance that it was a task that could be

Main Regression Results
A key part of their findings was, in part, by looking at the different kinds of prices that consumers
face when making a spending decision. In other words, they found that consumers spending
reductions (responsiveness to the HDHP) was largely in part due to their more salient response to
spot prices (defined as the fair marginal price at time of purchase) than to the products' or services'
true shadow price (defined as the expected marginal end–of–year price). To determine which
primary price resulted in the spending reductions, they conducted another regression analysis
(Appendix 3). This finding ultimately explains why the well–off, sickest quartile of employees
reduce their spending the greatest, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because the sickest quartile for one given year may or may not be the exact same sample for
another given year. This quantile–based approach also accounts for potential reversion to the mean.
One specific robustness check the authors considered was to account for the group of employees
(and their independents) that switched from the free health insurance plan to the complex non–linear
HDHP sooner than the actual enforcement of the policy change. They conducted a differences–in–
differences approach to control for the effect of "early switchers."
Conclusion Bottom line Message of Paper
Measuring the changes of health care spending is at the heart of health economics that aims to help
policymakers and large employers alike in their search to optimally design and regulate the health
insurance market. An optimal market such that it constrains the staggering growth of health care
expenditures without significantly reducing the quality of health care consumed. Within the US, the
authors find that the GDP has grown from about 5% to a confounding 17.4% in the past half century.
Brot–Goldberg et al. seems to implicitly warn that such demand–side policy changes like the HDHP
are likely to be counterproductive. The authors emphasize to their readers that the government needs
to recognize the limit of cost–sharing coverage plans and focus more on the supply–side policies
such as looking at how to properly

Speech : An Informative Speech
I. Attention Getter/Event Significance: Thank you for all joining me today to accept one of the most
prestigious awards out there, the "Most Likely to be Late Award." It is truly an honor and believe I
am very well deserving of this award more than anyone in this classroom.
II. Speaker Relationship: As one of the premier students in the history of being late to any function
possible. You could even say I'm like that guy who comes to the Halloween party on Christmas Day,
(simile) not that bad but you get the point.
III. Theme Identification: Although many of you may not know this about me, my car has witnessed
(personification) hundreds of late occurrences and saved me from many as well. Today, I will share
some of my most memorable moments (alliteration) of my late tendencies from recent years.
Transition: I wasn't always known as the person who was always late, it really blossomed around
high school.
Body
I. High school saw the high points of my late career thus far.
A. It was almost every day I struggled to make it to school on time.
1. I don't know if I liked the challenge or was just plain stupid.
2. Looking back on it, it was just plain stupid.
B. I was arriving to my first class of the day either right on time or a few minutes late.
1. Each student was allotted six tardies for the semester, I was plenty past that mark but my teachers
were lenient a few too many times which didn't result in me learning.
2. Talks with the principal or superintendent happened from time to time as well.
C. Even basketball practice, I was usually the last one to make it out of all my teammates.
1. In my defense, we were all late because basketball practice began five minutes after school let
out.
2. Granted, I have crappy ankles which tend to roll so I was always in the locker room tying up both
my shoes and ankle braces.
D. I was also honored before this award in the yearbook, where I was given the title of "Most Likely
to be Late" along with another student.
1. To make this title even better, both my classmate and I had no idea where we were supposed to
get our picture taken resulting in us being late and not getting a picture at all.
2. There lies a blank picture with our names and the title.
Transition: I have

Interpreting The Results And Remediation
Interpreting the results and remediation. After the vulnerability assessment has taken place it is time
to interpret the results of the scan. This is where the organization finds out what the vulnerabilities
of their network are. The vulnerabilities that were found in the process of the assessment must be
categorized, most vulnerability scanners will produce reports that will list and categorize the threats
that were found, this is also called threat modeling which we will get into in the next section. Once
these results are analyzed the next step is to start remediating the vulnerabilities. Just like any other
updates, the remediation of vulnerabilities should be scheduled, change management is a very
important part of an organizations IT ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once the scans are complete and the current vulnerabilities are patched it is a good idea to
implement a regular scanning schedule, once per month is an acceptable frequency to scan the
network for new vulnerabilities. Vulnerability assessment is a continuous cycle due do new
vulnerabilities being discovered every day, organizations must stay on top of their game if they want
their organization to remain secure. Figure 1 illustrates the continuous cycle of vulnerability
assessment.
Modeling and Determining Threats Threat modeling is a way to categorize threats using a structured
approach to address the threats with the most potential to do damage to a network. An example of a
threat model that is commonly used to rate threats is DREAD, this acronym stands for Damage,
Reproducibility, Exploitability, Affected users, and Discoverability. Each of these categories is
assessed a value from 0–10 with 0 being nothing and the being the most serious risk. (OWASP, n.d.)
An approach such as this will assist an organization in determining the importance and priority of
threats on their network. Another commonly used threat model is STRIDE, as seen in Table 2. The
following sections will walk through the entire process of threat modeling.
Identifying Assets To model threats, the organization will need to identify their assets. The assets
will typically be critical

Force Lab Results
During this lab, my partner and I had to figure out what our variables were in order to start the tests.
Our independent variables were mass, surface area, height, and the force applied. Our dependent
variable was the amount of time it took the object took to reach the ground. Lastly, our control
variables were the type of object, height, planet, force, temperature, and air resistance. We then
began our experiment by gathering all our materials for each factor that was being tested. We did our
tests several times to get an accurate answer. For some of the tests, we could not figure out which
object hit the ground first, so we used an app that recorded the object falling. The app slowed the
video down, so that we could see which object fell first. We then recorded our results on a piece of
paper. The purpose of this lab was to test the different factors that affected a falling object. The
factors that were being tested were mass, surface area, height and force applied. We achieved this
purpose by doing all of the different tests successfully. I learned that the heavier an object or the
more force you apply, that is how much faster the object drops to the ground. I also learned the
smaller the height of an object or the lesser the surface area, that is how much faster the object drops
to the ground. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

occurred during this experiment was figuring out what objects would fit the criteria for the certain
factors that were being tested. We overcame this problem by choosing two objects and visually

In the school setting there are many factors that could influence assessment results. This is
especially true when working with hearing–impaired children. Most of the hearing impaired
children I see display language, and visual motor skill deficits which affect their performance in the
classroom. Additionally, delayed acquisition of certain developmental milestones and behavioral
problems are seen in these students. We use a combination of observation and formal assessments.
The VMI is used most frequently, and was selected based on our treatment population, to reduce
bias in our assessment results. Although we do our best to avoid bias, there are still several factors
that could affect the validity of our results. In addition to factors surrounding

The Lamp At Noon Summary
A feeling of entrapment caused by the environment may lead to a lack of belonging which may
result in isolation. The feeling of isolation occurs when an individual feels separated from their
surroundings by lack of control. Could an individual overcome isolation? "The Lamp at Noon", a
short story written by Sinclair Ross the protagonist has to overcome numerous obstacles in order to
pursue happiness and belonging. In the short story Ross suggests that in moments of difficulties an
individual relies on the presence of their partner to gain comfort however, if such needs are not
provided one may adjust their feelings of isolation which may lead to a change of perspective,
resulting in committing an irrational act of desperation. The idea ... Show more content on

Ellen's isolation from Paul's ignorance has built up eventually into courage when Paul refuses to stay
despite her desperation of begging. A reminder of feeling ,"Lay back, naked". "Beaten and mounded

has been stripped by Paul's hardness turning her emotions into stone. In response to Ellen's adaption
to her isolation she makes an irrational decision of leaving Paul and taking their son with her in
harsh conditions. Sitting out in the storm ,"her hair in matted strands around her neck and face her
child clasp tightly in her arms" (11).She tightly protects her son from the harsh condition that
surrounds her finally letting go of the fear that held her back from comforting her son, the storm. In
conclusion Ellen's action of leaving her cage resulted in the ultimate consequence occurring leading
to the death of her child. She finally receives what she had been longing for when Paul finds them
out in the storm only to find ," the child was quite cold it had been in her arms, perhaps too frantic to
protect him, or the smother of dust upon his throat and lungs" (11). Ellen's vision darkens in similar

A Discussion Of Regression Results
Discussion of Regression Results
In order to empirically examine the extent to which changes in the price of chicken causes changes
in broiler (chicken) consumption, time–series data was collected on 40 observations extending from
1960 to 1999 on nine explanatory variables in total. I regressed this data using an Ordinary–Least
Squares (OLS) approach. The main explanatory variable used for my analysis was the consumer
price index (CPI) for whole fresh chicken with the base years denoted as the 1982 to 1984 time
period. The econometric model for my regression analysis is listed below:
In this way, I was able to obtain a larger coefficient on a
few of the explanatory variables, which allowed for a more suitable display and discussion of the
results in the paper. Further, the objective of this analysis was to explain to what extent price of
broilers, represented as the consumer price index on whole fresh chicken, impacts broiler
consumption in pounds. Specifically, the coefficients on the

Interpretation of Survey Results
INTERPRETATION OF SURVEY RESULTS As part of the requirements in order to complete this
paper, I took three surveys to determine my stand on change itself. I've known that change is the
only constant thing in life. People change, situations change, and even nature changes. We have to
be prepared for the changes to come around us or we will not be able to make it. In fact, science
itself tells us that those who can adapt most to change will those who survive. In the survey entitled
"Are You Tolerant of Change?", I was able to score 66. This score falls on the moderate level of
tolerance for change. But, looking at the number, it's pretty closer to lower tolerance compared to
high level of tolerance. The questions in these survey mostly pertained to my reaction in work
changes. I might say that the result is quite spot on. Although I am quite moderately tolerant to
change, I feel quite uncertain, especially with work changes because I know for a fact that not all the
time, things end up positively for us employees. With all the economic uncertainties today, you quite
never know when you're going to be laid off and that's quite scary. Still, the results show that I can at
least tolerate change and I hope that's enough to get me through. For the survey entitled "An
Assessment of Low Tolerance for Change", I scored 22 and 36 for self–efficacy and tolerance for
risk, respectively. From the interpretation, both scores lie on the middle grounds. This means that I
am moderately

Results Oriented Workplace in the 21st Century Over the last 40 years, technology to improve
productivity in the workplace has improved so much that an employee can be reached almost
anywhere at anytime to answer or solve any problem. However, rather than allowing employees to
work less and be truly productive, most workplaces place their value on the 40 hour week rather
than generating results in a timely fashion, on time. The result is more employee burn out, turn over
in the work force and reduced productivity, even with all these time saving technologies. From the

These results oriented workplaces create environments of healthier, happier workers, which produce
better work, on time. This paradigm shift of working smarter rather than punching a clock will
eventually take over business, though there is significant resistance in numerous workplaces. Human
resource departments are embracing this practice, as are visionary executives, and business
managers, making it very important to the next generation of business people to understand the rules
and frameworks that will result in greater productivity, and keep their employees healthier, happier,
and more productive. In an interview with David Hunnicutt, he cited the 7 benchmarks from the
Welcoa model for a results oriented workplace: "attracting senior level support, creating cohesive
wellness teams, using data to drive health efforts, crafting an operating plan, choosing appropriate
interventions, creating supportive environments, and consistently evaluating outcomes.1" We will
discuss each of there benchmarks in detail. The results oriented workplace has numerous benefits,
both for the organization as well as for the individual employees. These include an empowered
population, striving to develop more efficient means to complete any task. This results in greater
profits for the company, resulting in hopefully more business. The first of the benchmarks that
Hunnicutt mentions is attaining the support of the senior leadership of your organization. This is

Problems with guessing the compaction curve from the Family of Curves
Out in the field, some testers interpolate a compaction curve to represent the material using the
Alberta Family of Curves. One of the goals of this applied research, was to test the accuracy of this
method. It was concluded that the only true way to verify the legimitacy of this curve is by doing
index testing such as atterberg limits and grain size analysis on the soil. The City of Edmonton does
require the testing firm to do a standard proctor and atterberg limits on each soil type on a project. A
true maximum dry density and optimum moisture content can be obtained only by doing a standard
proctor in the lab. Furthermore, the liquid limit and plastic limit values can give the tester a better
idea on how much moisture variance is acceptable for the material. In case the Alberta Family of
curves must be used to quickly obtain a compaction curve in the field, having a classification of the
soil using atterberg limits and grain size analysis will provide the tester with backup information to
interpolate a more reliable compaction curve.
Does 100% of a one–point proctor equal 98% of a standard proctor?
According to the City of Edmonton, 100% compaction achieved relative to a one–point proctor is as
good as 98% compaction achieved relative to a standard proctor. From the test results conducted in
this research, it was concluded that this comparison is incorrect. This is explained in

The Results of Student Censorship
The students of this country are expected to follow the rules and regulations that their schools
impose, and whether or not they are fair is constantly challenged. In a perfect world, everyone
would be content under the same guidelines, regardless of how restrictive they may be. However,
this is not a perfect world and finding a universal agreement among everyone is virtually impossible.
Throughout history, those who have disagreed with actions made by authoritative figures have found
a way to protest said actions. From the Cambodian protests in Kent State to the Tiananmen Square
protests, students have been very vocal about what they are against and refuse to be censored by
their schools or their government. Attempting to do so, however, could lead to retribution from
authorities. Censoring students and their voices affects the students by almost trying to instill fear
and demoting contest from them can result in various scenarios, both good and bad. Violence is
never the answer, but there have been more than a few occasions where violence was the chosen
path from a group trying to suppress students. One of the most infamous cases of violence against
protesting students is the Kent State Massacre. On May 4, 1970 students of Ohio's Kent State
University had a demonstration against then–President Ronald Reagan's decision to invade
Cambodia during the Vietnam War. In an attempt to shut this demonstration down, The Ohio
National Guard was called in. What followed is

The Results Of Gothic Architecture
The results of Gothic architecture in York
In the 12th century architecture saw the progression from Romanesque architecture to the Gothic
era, which saw the forthcoming of the prodigious cathedrals that were to become the architectural
symbol of the middle ages. This was during a time of high aspirations. As well structural
developments Gothic architecture is also associated with a change in thinking and social attitudes
that are represented in numerous ways, essentially appealing to emotions.
After the fall of the Roman Empire the political culture shifted from the feudal system to monarchy,
bringing forth a cultural identity. Poetry and art became more personal and intimate, giving people
individuality. It reflected the social sustainability of the modern age and the growing confidence of
the Christian Church of Rome, which successfully lead crusades to reclaim the Holy land from the
Islamic occupants. The representation of Christ changed from a godlike hero in the battle between
good and evil to a tortured human figure that sacrificed him–self on the cross for the sins of
mankind. To respond, architects believed that light was the closest substance to God 's true presence
and focused on making a network of ribs and vaults reaching towards heaven. Pointed arches looked
towards the sky as 'the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine on it: for the glory
of God did lighten it '. (The Bible. Revelation 21:23) The results were specific elements, such

The following figure shows the agarose gel results of the digested DNA plasmids 1 and 2 as well as
the molecular weight markers. This allows for the visualisation of DNA by adding fluorescent dye
SYBR Green to the gel loading dye which was then added to the restriction digest. These results
belong to Jessica and Vince in Group 13. My results did not provide clear bands above the top

The product of the restriction enzyme digestion of plasmid DNA was analysed visually on agarose
electrophoresis. The identity of the plasmid fragment in plasmid 1 at 1122 bp is established to be
Integrin. The identity of the plasmid fragment in plasmid 2 at 501 bp is determined to be VEGF.
The isolated DNA plasmid is quantitated using UV absorbance and SYBR Green fluorescent
methods. The concentration of plasmids 1 and 2, using UV absorbance, was established to be 3227
µg/mL and 3951 µg/mL, respectively. This method also determines the 260/280 ratio for plasmid 1
which was 1.390 and for plasmid 2 which was 1.342. Furthermore, the plasmids are both
contaminated with proteins. The SYBR Green fluorescent method is more accurate than the UV
absorbance method since it is more specific for double–stranded DNA molecules. Therefore, the
SYBR Green assay results are lower than those obtained in the UV absorbance and are estimated to
be 163 µg/mL and 202 µg/mL,

5.6 5.6 Tapioca Flour 1.5 6.5 6.4 6.5 The results showed that the tapioca flour made the bread rise
the most. Although tapioca flour has no gluten in it, it is often combined with a different type of
flour. In this experiment it is combined with rice flour. Rice flour is also gluten free, so it is
combined with baking soda and baking powder. The baking soda and baking powder are the binding
agents in this recipe. If there is no binding agent in a gluten free bread then the bread will not be
elastic. The reason tapioca flour rises the most is mainly because of the baking powder. Another
binding agent in this recipe are the eggs. Since eggs have protein in them it will help to make the
bread elastic. If you use to much baking powder then the bread will break. On the other hand if you
do not use enough baking powder the bread will not rise that much at all. ... Show more content on

Silver Nitrate Results
In account for weighing, because the sample is an unknown, students do not know what the sample
is or what it contains. The three samples of the unknown A had to be weighed around 0.4000g. If the
sample was not weighed at a quick rate, it would collect moisture from the air and disturb the
weighing process by causing it to be higher than expected. Because three samples had to be weighed
out at the same time, there was plenty of time for the unknown to collect moisture from the air
allowing the sample to contain more moisture and less of the unknown sample. Also, the weather
could affect the weight of the sample along with the season. During the summer time, humidity is
more common than in the winter. With humidity comes an abundant amount of moisture within an

IFR represents a significant shift in the thinking approach to solving problems.
The idea of formulating the IFR is to clearly define the goal of improvement and to work back from
that point, thus eliminating rework by solving the right problem initially.
A basic concept of TRIZ is that systems evolve towards increased ideality, where the extreme result
of this evolution is the ideal final result.
2. TRIZ: List and describe each of the 9 laws of evolution. (900–1200 words) (40 points)
Answer: The following are the laws of evolution:
1. Law of increasing degree of ideality: This is the first law of the evolution of technological
systems. Evolution of technological system moves in the direction of an increasing degree of
ideality. This means that in the process of evolution, a system, which executes some functions,
becomes less complicated, costly, it becomes capable of performing its functions better, or it
performs more functions. A mixture of these evolutionary processes also often occurs. For example,
early computers need lot of power to operate and give small output only. But evolution of computer
is moving towards ideality.
2. Law of non–uniform evolution of subsystems: Any technological organization meets some needs,
which usually grow swiftly than the refinement of the system. This also makes an evolutionary
pressure causing the occurrence of structure conflicts. The rate of evolution of various parts of a
system is not uniform;

One of my styles that was identified on the LSI survey that works against me is my drive to do my
best– at all I do. In a small way I attach self–worth to my work and projects. I do not think that I am
a perfectionist as the survey list me, but I do think that the desire to produce "flawless" products that

Computers uses collision detection to detect whether a shape is within the boundaries of another
shape. If the shape is within the boundaries of the other shape, a collision detection occurs. The
reason behind collision detection is to demonstrate the laws of Physics. For instance, since any
objects cannot phase each other, the computer must demonstrate that two objects must be separate
from each other and not within one another.

Applying Circle Collision Detection
The following JavaScript code in figure 8 applies the Circle Collision algorithm and checks if the
two circles are intersecting [4]. If there is an intersection that is present, the green circle will change
colors.
Figure 8. The following is a JavaScript code that detects collisions between two circles.
In figure 8, the codes "var circle1" and "var circle2" defines the elements of the circle and what
color it represents before and after the collision. First, the variable "dx" and "dy" calculates the x–
axis and the y–axis of the two circles plus its corresponding radius. Next, the variable "distance"
uses the distance formula to get the distance between the two circle. Afterwards, it uses a conditional
statement to check for a collision if the distance is less than the combined radius of the two circles.
Thus, the circle is green in figure 8 as there is a collision. Figure 9 demonstrates a result if there is
no collision between the

Bilirubin Test Results
Why am I having this test?
The bilirubin test is used to evaluate liver function. Your health care provider may recommend this
test:
If you have hemolytic anemia.
For a newborn who has jaundice.
What is being tested?
This test measures the level of bilirubin in the body. Bilirubin is produced when red blood cells are
broken down. Normally, bilirubin is broken down in the liver and excreted as a component of bile.
However, when red blood cells are broken down more quickly than usual, or when there is a
dysfunction in how bile is excreted, bilirubin levels can become elevated. In newborns with
jaundice, elevated bilirubin levels may put the child at risk for brain damage.

2016 : Results And Analysis
2016: Results and Analysis Analyzing the results of 2016, it is clear the company has improved. To
begin, the new strategy of raising the price and producing less bikes increase the sales revenue by
$1,547,083. As well, the COGS was reduced by $281,858. The amount of cash was increased by
$1,341,627 and retained earnings increased by $1,177,033, which is useful for the future as it could
be reinvested or used to pay off long term debt. The awareness rating went up by 0.12 and the PR
rating increased by 0.2 as a significant amount of money was put into advertising and PR. Selling
and distribution expenses increased by $2,139,271, however net income only decreased by $196,705
likely due to the increase in price. The net income fell short of the profit forecast by $354,405. As
for the distribution rating, it was 0.21 below the recommendation, though as it is only the second
year, improvement can definitely be anticipated in the future. 2016: Summary Conclusions
Following the disappointing first rollover, KHMJ rebounded with a strong second fiscal period,
moving up a position in the industry standings. A key factor in this turnaround was likely the
emphasis placed on product advertising (largest amount spent on advertising in industry). Due to the
dramatic increase in the awareness of the mountain bike, the company saw a much higher sales
figure. This improvement was reflected in an extremely strong EPS ratio (second highest in the

result in the war. When the United States decided to declare their freedom from Great Britain in
1776 they had used a militia service for fighting the Revolutionary War. But, When the United
States officially became their own recognized nation in 1783, they needed to start building an
official military. At that time they started using Conscription, or as it is more commonly known, a
drafting system. This drafting system was used in every single war since then up until the near end
of the Vietnam War in in 1973. With that in mind, the draft is something that should be
reimplemented because the United States has never lost a war that only used the draft, the draft was
effective at allowing the United States of America to win the war, and the All Volunteer Service has
not been able to bring about the same winning results as the draft had done.
To kick off, when the draft was started it was known as Conscription, otherwise known as a
mandatory enlistment into the United States military it was used when volunteer numbers did not
provide sufficient manpower. The draft was first implemented on a national level for the Union
during the Civil War after President Abraham Lincoln had misjudged the amount of volunteers that
he would need to defeat the Confederacy.

  • 4. Risks And Hazards Of Walmart Introduction The safety audit will be performed at a Walmart location in Orangeville, Ontario. It is the biggest retail store worldwide with $482.1 billion in revenue and has 2.3 million associates. As I have worked there for the summer holding an instock position in the back room unloading trucks, I have gained knowledge and understanding on the safety issues and standards that exist within the company. Risks and Hazards Identified by Walmart Walmart identifies many different risks and hazards that an employee may face during work and believe that employees need to be aware of them. These hazards can be identified in various forms such as: physical, ergonomic, chemical, psychological, and safety/security Physical Hazards: can result when performing various activities around the workplace. They can occur from the equipment that we use, such as the pumps trucks, electric pump trucks or from the trash compactor. Employees need to be trained on how to properly use the different equipment to ensure that they have sufficient knowledge on how to operate them safely. The training allows for individuals to understand what to do when there is a malfunction with the equipment and how they need to be properly reported and documented, as well as locked away so that others do not use the broken equipment. Other physical harms can be from slipping, which can be prevented from non–slip safety shoes that Walmart can sell to you for 50% off. Falling from various heights can also be a ... To Test the effects of one uncontrolled parameters sush as pH, Temperature or dissolved Oxygen and compare findings. To produce anti–microbial activity from Staphylococcus warneri. II. INTRODUCTION: Staphylococcus warneri is a member of bacterial genus Staphylococcus, consisting of Gram– positive bacteria with spherical cells appearing in clusters. Colonies of S. warneri are usually tan, yellow and about 2–4mm in diameter after 48 hours incubation at 35°C. It is commonly found as part of the skin flora on humans and animals. S. warneri rarely causes disease, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This indicates that when temperature is not controlled the temperature can increase significantly. As shows in TABLE 1.1 History Plot Vessel 1 – 2L NO Temperature control. Vessel 2: No antimicrobial activity seen at 13:00. However antimicrobial activity seen in both neat and 1:2 sample at 14:00 and 15:00. Antimicrobial activity seen in neat sample at 16:00 and 09:00. When air flow is not controlled the reduced air content reduces the rate of fermentation, As Oxygen is required for cell growth and when air is in reduced quantity this slows down rate of cell reproduction as shows in TABLE 1.2 History Plot Vessel 2 – 2L NO Air Flow. Vessel 3: Antimicrobial activity seen in neat sample at all time intervals. Antimicrobial activity seen in 1:2 sample at 14:00, 16:00 and 09:00. Activity seen in 1:4 for the first time at 16:00 and 09:00. There is greater anti–microbial peptide activity with temperature and air controls which shows that the pH does not have significant effects as the other two parameters. The fermentation was not affected to the same extent by pH as shown in TABLE 1.3 History Plot Vessel 3 – 2L NO pH control. Vessel 4: Antimicrobial activity seen in neat sample at all time intervals. Activity seen in 1:2 sample at 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 09:00. For the first time see antimicrobial activity in

  • 9. Result Analysis Of Aspirin Introduction Aspirin is a widely name used to refer to a chemical compound known as acetylsalicylic acid. It is commonly used as a pain killer. Salicylic acid is extracted from the bark of willow plant. In the past, the bark willow plant was used as the remedies for tonics and headache. Currently, salicylic acid is administered to patients in aspirin form which is less irritating to the stomach as compared to salicylic acid. Aspirin is synthesised by reacting excess acetic anhydride with the salicylic acid. During its synthesis a small quantity of a strong acid is used as a catalyst. Strong phosphoric acid was used as a catalyst in this experiment. The excess acetic acid was quenched by addition of water. Beer's law shows the relationship ... After adding 5ml of acetic anhydride and five drops of 85% phosphoric acid into 50ml Erlenmeyer flask which contained 2.001g salicylic acid, the flask was heated on a hot plate (75℃ ) for 15 minutes while stirring the flask's content. A butcher funnel was then set–up for filtration of the flask's content. The purple solution was noted after mixing 0.5ml aspirin and 0.025ml Fe (NO3)3 in volumetric flask. Color change indicated the ions complexion point of the reaction. Mass of synthesized aspirin is calculated by: Mass of aspirin 0.5ml ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Confounded Study Results Confounded Study Results Although the outcome proved the NPCT intervention of DSME education and medical management were effective, something other than the interventions used could have caused other results but not confounded results. The use of multiple locations and a larger randomized sample size may have helped avoid obstacles such as time, fuel, cost and transportation issues and allowed for generalizability. Different outcomes could have been achieved if individualized education plans were completed separately for the insulin dependent and non– insulin dependent patients (Jessee & Rutledge, 2012). Some factors that were not included in this study were the patient history, educational level, and other health risk factors of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... No clinical testing was required for sensitivity and specificity factors since the inclusion criteria attested to these patients already having T2DM. Applicability Applicability or generalizability of a study is the degree to which research findings can be generalized to other groups and settings (Polit & Beck, 2012). Although, the small sample size and use of one geographic region in this study limited generalizability, the results of the study can be applicable to those within similar programs with the same disease process (Jessee & Rutledge, 2012). In my every day practice, though I work with a different patient population, the results of this study show the applicability of health education for family and patients in improving health outcomes. Even with health topics other than diabetes, health education is pivotal to improve knowledge, self–management, and patient compliance. With adequate knowledge in disease processes, patients can make better choices, maintain their health, and adequately prevent complications. Though the demographic aspects will be different, the outcome achieved in this study would remain relatively similar. Collaboration and multi–disciplinary group visits are crucial in encompassing different aspects of health education including realistic goal setting and creating action plans for health promotion, risk prevention, and ... • 15. The Theory Of Regression Results DESCRPTION OF REGRESSION RESULTS In order to empirically examine the extent to which changes in price causes changes in broiler (chicken) consumption, time–series data was collected on 40 observations extending from 1960 to 1999 on nine explanatory variables in total. I regressed this data using an Ordinary–Least Squares (OLS) approach. The main explanatory variable used for my analysis was the consumer price index (CPI) for whole fresh chicken with the base years denoted as the 1982 to 1984 time period. The econometric model for my regression analysis is listed below: Broiler Consumption = a+β_(1 ) (CPI of broilers)+ β_2 (income)+ β_3 (population)+β_(4 ) (CPI for beef)+β_(5 ) (PPI for corn)+ β_(6 ) (NPI for broiler feed)+β_7 (CPI)+β_8 (AP of Broilers)+β_9 (population)+β_(10 ) (exports of beef, veal and pork)+ ε Data regarding my dependent variable was originally collected as pounds consumed per capita. However, I multiplied the per capita broiler consumption data by 100,000 to obtain broiler consumption in pounds per 100,000 people. In this way, I was able to obtain a larger coefficient on a few of the variables, which allowed for a more suitable display and discussion of the results in the paper. Further, the objective of this analysis was to explain to what extent price of broilers (CPI on whole fresh chicken) impacts broiler consumption in pounds. Specifically, the coefficients on the explanatory variables illustrate their respective effects on the number ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was what caused my hands to shake during a calculus test. It was what caused me to cry when I received my rejection notice from Texas A&M University the first time I applied. In a way it has been a defining feature of my academic career, always a shadow in the back of my mind murmuring the deadly phrase "but can you really do it?". That small voice has been largely responsible for my reluctance to push myself academically, to actually see what I am capable of. • 19. Benefits Of SEO Results As hard as it is to get good SEO results, it's even harder to get a great company. And we are not talking about companies that promise no.1 ranking because those are many and it's safe to say that chances are high that they are fraudsters. Even Google which is the most used search engine will tell you that there are no.1 ranking guarantees. Aside from that, you can find a company offering SEO services worth investing in and these four tips will help you. 1. Look For an SEO Company with Proven Results If you want good results, you need an SEO company that has proven results. Fortunately, there are several companies and these provide good search engine positioning services. Obviously, a good SEO company should have great search engine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That said, they also shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg and usually companies will give you quotes based on the services you need. Since services differ from client to client, it's best to go for SEO companies that will customize your service and price as well as opposed to those that give blanket services for all. Remember that cheap is expensive and you get what you pay for. 4. Use Reviews and Referrals Any company that is offering SEO services will have online reviews and this is regardless of whether or not the reviews are in their site. Reviews are great because they give you the real deal on what to expect with the company. They are basically referrals and you can bet that anyone who received services will vent online while those who got great results will also praise the services online. Referrals are by far the easiest ways to get a good SEO company. Using the above tips, finding a good company for your needs shouldn't be too difficult. That said, it is important to note that there is no perfection when it comes to optimization and if you are looking for number one results all the time, you are positioning yourself for a great deal of frustration. One of the best things you can do for you if your SEO efforts don't bear much fruit is getting SEO services. Planaria Fermentation Results After performing the experiment, the results showed that planaria were typically more successful in regenerating when they were cut transversely at the tail than when they were decapitated at both the one–week mark and the two–week mark. The only exception was at the one–week mark, when a higher ratio of the top parts of the planaria fully regenerated than did the bottom parts. Even further, the data seemed to show that the bottom part of the planaria was much more successful at regenerating than the top part was. For example, after one week, 92.5% of the bottom part of a planaria that was transversely cut through the tail partially regenerated, where only 55% of the top part of the planaria that was decapitated partially regenerated. Thus, the results of this experiment support current research that states that some areas of the planaria are able to regenerate more quickly than other parts. ... Although this was not really the experimenters' faults, it definitely altered the results. Furthermore, while we did have multiple repetitions, the number of repetitions was still small. Also, we did have a fairly large sample size (40), but even so, random chance might have altered the data. It's important to recognize that there are factors that may have caused the results to become less accurate, but because there were multiple repetitions and many samples, the effects of random chance were likely minimized. Additionally, many people found it hard to determine whether planaria were partially regenerated or fully regenerated, which may have altered the data and made them less ... Results Main Regression Results A key part of their findings was, in part, by looking at the different kinds of prices that consumers face when making a spending decision. In other words, they found that consumers spending reductions (responsiveness to the HDHP) was largely in part due to their more salient response to spot prices (defined as the fair marginal price at time of purchase) than to the products' or services' true shadow price (defined as the expected marginal end–of–year price). To determine which primary price resulted in the spending reductions, they conducted another regression analysis (Appendix 3). This finding ultimately explains why the well–off, sickest quartile of employees reduce their spending the greatest, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because the sickest quartile for one given year may or may not be the exact same sample for another given year. This quantile–based approach also accounts for potential reversion to the mean. One specific robustness check the authors considered was to account for the group of employees (and their independents) that switched from the free health insurance plan to the complex non–linear HDHP sooner than the actual enforcement of the policy change. They conducted a differences–in– differences approach to control for the effect of "early switchers." Conclusion Bottom line Message of Paper Measuring the changes of health care spending is at the heart of health economics that aims to help policymakers and large employers alike in their search to optimally design and regulate the health insurance market. An optimal market such that it constrains the staggering growth of health care expenditures without significantly reducing the quality of health care consumed. Within the US, the authors find that the GDP has grown from about 5% to a confounding 17.4% in the past half century. Brot–Goldberg et al. seems to implicitly warn that such demand–side policy changes like the HDHP are likely to be counterproductive. The authors emphasize to their readers that the government needs to recognize the limit of cost–sharing coverage plans and focus more on the supply–side policies such as looking at how to properly ... This is where the organization finds out what the vulnerabilities of their network are. The vulnerabilities that were found in the process of the assessment must be categorized, most vulnerability scanners will produce reports that will list and categorize the threats that were found, this is also called threat modeling which we will get into in the next section. Once these results are analyzed the next step is to start remediating the vulnerabilities. Figure 1 illustrates the continuous cycle of vulnerability assessment. Modeling and Determining Threats Threat modeling is a way to categorize threats using a structured approach to address the threats with the most potential to do damage to a network. An example of a threat model that is commonly used to rate threats is DREAD, this acronym stands for Damage, Reproducibility, Exploitability, Affected users, and Discoverability. Each of these categories is assessed a value from 0–10 with 0 being nothing and the being the most serious risk. (OWASP, n.d.) Our independent variables were mass, surface area, height, and the force applied. Our dependent variable was the amount of time it took the object took to reach the ground. Lastly, our control variables were the type of object, height, planet, force, temperature, and air resistance. We then began our experiment by gathering all our materials for each factor that was being tested. We did our tests several times to get an accurate answer. For some of the tests, we could not figure out which object hit the ground first, so we used an app that recorded the object falling. The app slowed the video down, so that we could see which object fell first. We then recorded our results on a piece of paper. The purpose of this lab was to test the different factors that affected a falling object. The factors that were being tested were mass, surface area, height and force applied. We achieved this purpose by doing all of the different tests successfully. I learned that the heavier an object or the more force you apply, that is how much faster the object drops to the ground. • 43. Interpretation of Survey Results INTERPRETATION OF SURVEY RESULTS As part of the requirements in order to complete this paper, I took three surveys to determine my stand on change itself. I've known that change is the only constant thing in life. People change, situations change, and even nature changes. We have to be prepared for the changes to come around us or we will not be able to make it. In fact, science itself tells us that those who can adapt most to change will those who survive. In the survey entitled "Are You Tolerant of Change?", I was able to score 66. This score falls on the moderate level of tolerance for change. But, looking at the number, it's pretty closer to lower tolerance compared to high level of tolerance. The questions in these survey mostly pertained to my reaction in work changes. I might say that the result is quite spot on. Although I am quite moderately tolerant to change, I feel quite uncertain, especially with work changes because I know for a fact that not all the time, things end up positively for us employees. With all the economic uncertainties today, you quite never know when you're going to be laid off and that's quite scary. Still, the results show that I can at least tolerate change and I hope that's enough to get me through. For the survey entitled "An Assessment of Low Tolerance for Change", I scored 22 and 36 for self–efficacy and tolerance for risk, respectively. From the interpretation, both scores lie on the middle grounds. This means that I am moderately ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis of Test Results Analysis of Test Results Problems with guessing the compaction curve from the Family of Curves Out in the field, some testers interpolate a compaction curve to represent the material using the Alberta Family of Curves. One of the goals of this applied research, was to test the accuracy of this method. It was concluded that the only true way to verify the legimitacy of this curve is by doing index testing such as atterberg limits and grain size analysis on the soil. The City of Edmonton does require the testing firm to do a standard proctor and atterberg limits on each soil type on a project. A true maximum dry density and optimum moisture content can be obtained only by doing a standard proctor in the lab. Furthermore, the liquid limit and plastic limit values can give the tester a better idea on how much moisture variance is acceptable for the material. In case the Alberta Family of curves must be used to quickly obtain a compaction curve in the field, having a classification of the soil using atterberg limits and grain size analysis will provide the tester with backup information to interpolate a more reliable compaction curve. Does 100% of a one–point proctor equal 98% of a standard proctor? DNA plasmid 1 is determined to be Integrin insert since the size of plasmid fragment is 1122 bp, which is relatively close to 1,250 bp, as seen in Figure 4. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The product of the restriction enzyme digestion of plasmid DNA was analysed visually on agarose electrophoresis. The identity of the plasmid fragment in plasmid 1 at 1122 bp is established to be Integrin. The identity of the plasmid fragment in plasmid 2 at 501 bp is determined to be VEGF. The isolated DNA plasmid is quantitated using UV absorbance and SYBR Green fluorescent methods. The concentration of plasmids 1 and 2, using UV absorbance, was established to be 3227 µg/mL and 3951 µg/mL, respectively. This method also determines the 260/280 ratio for plasmid 1 which was 1.390 and for plasmid 2 which was 1.342. Furthermore, the plasmids are both contaminated with proteins. The SYBR Green fluorescent method is more accurate than the UV absorbance method since it is more specific for double–stranded DNA molecules. Therefore, the SYBR Green assay results are lower than those obtained in the UV absorbance and are estimated to be 163 µg/mL and 202 µg/mL, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These are the results: Type of Flour Amount of Dough in Pan (cm) How much Bread Rises (cm) Whole Wheat Flour 1.5 3.4 3.5 3.7 Rye Flour 1.5 2.3 2.3 2.4 All Purpose Flour 1.5 5.4 5.6 5.6 Tapioca Flour 1.5 6.5 6.4 6.5 The results showed that the tapioca flour made the bread rise the most. Although tapioca flour has no gluten in it, it is often combined with a different type of flour. In this experiment it is combined with rice flour. Rice flour is also gluten free, so it is combined with baking soda and baking powder. The baking soda and baking powder are the binding agents in this recipe. If there is no binding agent in a gluten free bread then the bread will not be elastic. The reason tapioca flour rises the most is mainly because of the baking powder. Another binding agent in this recipe are the eggs. Since eggs have protein in them it will help to make the bread elastic. If you use to much baking powder then the bread will break. On the other hand if you do not use enough baking powder the bread will not rise that much at all. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The three samples of the unknown A had to be weighed around 0.4000g. If the sample was not weighed at a quick rate, it would collect moisture from the air and disturb the weighing process by causing it to be higher than expected. Because three samples had to be weighed out at the same time, there was plenty of time for the unknown to collect moisture from the air allowing the sample to contain more moisture and less of the unknown sample. Also, the weather could affect the weight of the sample along with the season. During the summer time, humidity is more common than in the winter. With humidity comes an abundant amount of moisture within an area, specifically a laboratory. Majority of the experiment was conducted in a lighted area and this does not allow for a 100% reaction. Silver nitrate responds to light causing it to change its properities. It was important for students to quickly conduct the portions of the lab where silver nitrate was used. If not, then a less than 100% reaction would occur. It was also important for students to keep the silver nitrate in a dark area until needed. Finally, some source of errors caused by students, known as human errors, include the following: 1) not using the same balance when weighing both the gooch crucibles and the unknown sample, 2) making sure the balance was cleaned before usage, 3) making sure the samples were dried and cooled before weighing, 4) crucibles being left in the oven for longer than necessary, 5) not rinsing enough or over–rinsing during preparation of product, 6) not leaving enough of the sample in the test tube to be tested for the absence of silver before placing the product in the gooch crucible to be ... IFR represents a significant shift in the thinking approach to solving problems. The idea of formulating the IFR is to clearly define the goal of improvement and to work back from that point, thus eliminating rework by solving the right problem initially. A basic concept of TRIZ is that systems evolve towards increased ideality, where the extreme result of this evolution is the ideal final result. 2. TRIZ: List and describe each of the 9 laws of evolution. (900–1200 words) (40 points) Answer: The following are the laws of evolution: 1. Law of increasing degree of ideality: This is the first law of the evolution of technological systems. Evolution of technological system moves in the direction of an increasing degree of ideality. This means that in the process of evolution, a system, which executes some functions, becomes less complicated, costly, it becomes capable of performing its functions better, or it performs more functions. A mixture of these evolutionary processes also often occurs. For example, early computers need lot of power to operate and give small output only. But evolution of computer is moving towards ideality. 2. Law of non–uniform evolution of subsystems: Any technological organization meets some needs,

In this manner my strong family values further shows that I display the characteristics of an affiliative person since I "value relationships above all else" (International, Affiliative, 2011) One of my styles that was identified on the LSI survey that works against me is my drive to do my best– at all I do. In a small way I attach self–worth to my work and projects. I do not think that I am a perfectionist as the survey list me, but I do think that the desire to produce "flawless" products that "whow" others is something I need to work on. I have grown less attached to the desire to "whow" others over the last 3 years, since I have realized that even a "whow" given to me now will not be remembered in 6 months. To be perfect sets a person up for an even larger fall when mistakes are made. The team that I lead in Afghanistan has learned from experience that I expect them to perform well but understand and accept when perfect is not obtainable. I had several talks with them while in deployed and explained that my only wish was for them to come home safely. Delivering a perfect no mistake mission while in combat was unrealistic and out of the question. As long as safety to my team was obtained – all else could fail an outsiders inspection. By allowing a less than perfect product, there, I won the respect of my team. Learning to lower my expectations in a non–combat environment will be a little harder. The learning objective that students were the most successful with was: I can describe the process of photosynthesis. Two possible reasons for this success was we spent a lot of time reviewing plants and how they get their food. We also did a virtual lab that involved Elodea plants and students were able to see the relationship between plants and animals. • 71. Application And Results Of Computers Applications and Results Computers uses collision detection to detect whether a shape is within the boundaries of another shape. If the shape is within the boundaries of the other shape, a collision detection occurs. The reason behind collision detection is to demonstrate the laws of Physics. For instance, since any objects cannot phase each other, the computer must demonstrate that two objects must be separate from each other and not within one another. Sources: http://jsfiddle.net/gQ3hD/2/ Applying Circle Collision Detection The following JavaScript code in figure 8 applies the Circle Collision algorithm and checks if the two circles are intersecting [4]. If there is an intersection that is present, the green circle will change colors. Figure 8. The following is a JavaScript code that detects collisions between two circles. In figure 8, the codes "var circle1" and "var circle2" defines the elements of the circle and what color it represents before and after the collision. First, the variable "dx" and "dy" calculates the x– axis and the y–axis of the two circles plus its corresponding radius. Next, the variable "distance" uses the distance formula to get the distance between the two circle. Afterwards, it uses a conditional statement to check for a collision if the distance is less than the combined radius of the two circles. Thus, the circle is green in figure 8 as there is a collision. Figure 9 demonstrates a result if there is no collision between the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 73. Bilirubin Test Results Why am I having this test? The bilirubin test is used to evaluate liver function. Your health care provider may recommend this test: If you have hemolytic anemia. For a newborn who has jaundice. What is being tested? This test measures the level of bilirubin in the body. Bilirubin is produced when red blood cells are broken down. Normally, bilirubin is broken down in the liver and excreted as a component of bile. However, when red blood cells are broken down more quickly than usual, or when there is a dysfunction in how bile is excreted, bilirubin levels can become elevated. In newborns with jaundice, elevated bilirubin levels may put the child at risk for brain damage. What kind of sample is taken? This test can be performed using one of the following methods: ... • 75. 2016 : Results And Analysis 2016: Results and Analysis Analyzing the results of 2016, it is clear the company has improved. To begin, the new strategy of raising the price and producing less bikes increase the sales revenue by $1,547,083. As well, the COGS was reduced by $281,858. The amount of cash was increased by $1,341,627 and retained earnings increased by $1,177,033, which is useful for the future as it could be reinvested or used to pay off long term debt. The awareness rating went up by 0.12 and the PR rating increased by 0.2 as a significant amount of money was put into advertising and PR. Selling and distribution expenses increased by $2,139,271, however net income only decreased by $196,705 likely due to the increase in price. The net income fell short of the profit forecast by $354,405. As for the distribution rating, it was 0.21 below the recommendation, though as it is only the second year, improvement can definitely be anticipated in the future. 2016: Summary Conclusions Following the disappointing first rollover, KHMJ rebounded with a strong second fiscal period, moving up a position in the industry standings. A key factor in this turnaround was likely the emphasis placed on product advertising (largest amount spent on advertising in industry). The employees answered questions regarding their working conditions, hours worked, training, compensation, treatment, communication, and security. The results of the survey are disappointing to the management at BIMS as the response was only 17.3% of their employees expressing how they feel about the company, and jobs. The initial survey indicated that most of the DMC employees were very unhappy with their current position, their salary, and their work experience at BIMS. With this, the hypothesis for the initial survey is that the results are skewed based upon a lack of input from employees. For BIMS to fully understand the higher than normal turnover rate at this particular facility, additional data will need to be collected. Necessary for an End Result The Draft, Necessary for an End Result In recent years the government has been using the Volunteer System for the military, but the Draft is a far better option because it will actually lead to an end result in the war. When the United States decided to declare their freedom from Great Britain in 1776 they had used a militia service for fighting the Revolutionary War. But, When the United States officially became their own recognized nation in 1783, they needed to start building an official military. At that time they started using Conscription, or as it is more commonly known, a drafting system. This drafting system was used in every single war since then up until the near end of the Vietnam War in in 1973. With that in mind, the draft is something that should be reimplemented because the United States has never lost a war that only used the draft, the draft was effective at allowing the United States of America to win the war, and the All Volunteer Service has not been able to bring about the same winning results as the draft had done. To kick off, when the draft was started it was known as Conscription, otherwise known as a mandatory enlistment into the United States military it was used when volunteer numbers did not provide sufficient manpower. The draft was first implemented on a national level for the Union during the Civil War after President Abraham Lincoln had misjudged the amount of volunteers that he would need to defeat the Confederacy. ...
