First of all I thank to Allah Almighty who has blessed me with the strength to complete this
report.
And I thank to my honorable manager Ms. Aiman Irfan, who has attendant me in my
proficient development and also made me capable to do all the work easily with the given
information and procedures. Moreover she had been an incredible monitor and be responsible
for practical examples of admission to help me executing in the practice.
This report is based on providing the information of admission to the candidates in a
professional and reputable manner, it’s all about the admission records of an institution. It
was the individual work and recommendation was dedication which enabled me to complete
the report on given time period.
I am highly grateful to Mrs. Erum Ghayas for her special guidance and for providing
essential information regarding the report.
My especial thanks to Ms. Aiman Irfan, who affords me with this wonderful knowledge.
Finally my family who have provided me an opportunity to work at a friendly, energetic and

INTRODUCTION OF HAMDARD UNIVERSITY
History:
Hamdard University was established on October 9, 1991, by Hakim Muhammad Said. The
university is named after Hakim Muhammad Said's philanthropy and education lobby
organization, the Hamdard Foundation.
Madinat al-Hikmah: "a City of Education, Science and Culture" in Bund Murad neighborhood
of Gadap Town of Karachi is stretched over an area of 350 acres, which includes, the
establishments of the university, Hamdard Garden, sports stadium, Hamdard Public School and
college, imparting education from primary to higher secondary level and Bait al-Hikmah library. In
1996 the first city campus of the university was established at Adamjee Nagar. Later on, another
city campus operating weekend and evening programs was started in PECHS, Karachi. The
number of campuses increased with the establishment of Islamabad and Faisalabad campuses
in 1998 and 2000 respectively. During the period, five Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi-based
organizations, imparting professional education became affiliated with the university.

(HIMS) Hamdard Institute of Management Sciences, Karachi offers a four-year program of B.B.A.
(Bachelor of Business Administration) in undergraduate category, an M.S. (Management
Sciences) program and a post-graduate M.B.A. (Master of Business Administration) program
which has been divided into four categories with respect to the time-span and previous
education:
 A three-and-a-half year MBA plan for students with a previous two-year Bachelor's degree in
any discipline,
 A regular two-year MBA plan for students having a four-year Bachelor's degree in any
discipline,
 A one-and-a-half year MBA plan for students with a four-year Bachelor's degree in Business
Administration (BBA) or equivalent,
 An executive two-year MBA plan for students having a two-year Bachelor's degree in any
discipline and a professional experience of at least four years in executive capacity.
It was founded in 1994. Initially HIMS was situated in Madinat-ul-Hikmah. But in 2012, it was
shifted to City Campus – II, in PECHS, Karachi.

The functioning of Admission and Marketing Department are as follows:
 Counselling the new admissions
 Queries Handling
 Conducting the Admission Tests and Interviews of new applicants
 Recording and maintaining their academic profiles
 Collection of the pay orders and forwarding them to the Finance Department.
 Then taking the approvals on the pay orders from Finance Department and Academic
Department
 Creating, maintaining and presenting the admission records to the Admission
Manager.

KEY LEARNING IN TERMS OF OVERALL
EXPERIENCE
The things which I have learned achieved by working in the organization are as follows:
 During my internship in HIMS I have learnt that how to use the theoretical
knowledge, especially Business Communication, Organizational and Consumer
Behavior in practical field.
 Secondly, I was also successful in learning, how to record, keep and manage
academic data of academic institute.
 Thirdly, I also learnt, how to handle queries, regarding admission.
 Customers dealing is another major objective that I want to achieve. During my
internship I learnt that how to deal with customers.
 And I also learned that how different departments functions together.
Through this internship I learned many things. It was a great experience for me to
comprehend the working environment. During this period I face different types of working
conditions, which will help me to know that, how to handle these conditions in future.
Through this internship I am able to do work in Admission departments of any Educational
Institute because, now I know all rules, policies, and responsibilities.
CONCLUSION
It was a great learning experience working in HIMS. This internship was very much
informative. It provides me with the proper guidelines in order to prosper in my career; also,
it has opened my mind and enabled me to go with a positive and professional approach to any
aspect of my life. It helps me to acknowledge my weaknesses and strengths.
