How To Write An Essay On Roman Holiday
Roman Holiday Featuring Audrey Hepburn, the film Roman Holiday, shows the intrinstic and
innovative emotions that Hepburn portrays. She was fully committed in playing Anne, the
sheltered princess who was getting tried of her daily routine. Anne wants to be adventurous and
experience something different other than her extremely boring scheduled life of a royal highness.
The performance that Hepburn projected was successfully believable to the audience because she
had the poise and attitude that a princess would normally have. I personally enjoyed and believed
the acting skills that Audrey Hepburn had throughout the film, she executed her performance very
fittingly and meticousily. Throughout the entire film, the way that Audrey Hepburn

making its ejections more unsafe and fatal contrasted with an ordinary fountain of liquid magma.
What makes its ejection all the more debilitating is its extensive magma store. As indicated by
BBC s same study, a typical well of lava can radiate around one kilometer of material, while a

The Impact Of Media On Youtube And Facebook
Since the advent of the internet and the yearly increase in connectivity shrinking the digital divide,
information and media have become increasingly accessible to many more people. Our personal
consumption of media has become extremely tailored due to individualization. With web based
mass alternative mediaoffer increased range, immediacy, and ease over traditional alternatives
(Owens and Palmer, 2003; p 339) we are given the opportunity to customize both our virtual and
tangible experience. The development of this multi modal communication can be seen by the
plethora of online media vehicles such as Youtube, Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Twitter, and Facebook;
new unifications of creators, large companies, and politicians have begun to utilize these mediums
to fulfil their relevant agendas.
An example of this would be the development of politics on Youtube and Facebook. The
communicative technology fosters more transparency and authenticity from politicians, inhibiting
their ability to control information/image while providing previously passive audiences the
opportunity to become active in both creating and sharing dialogue while challenging claims made
in the mass media. Politicians have discovered how to govern through social media, developing
policy support and managing public opinion via direct, unfiltered communication on YouTube
(McMilan, 2015, pp 1 2). Politicians such as Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are constantly
being re posted/blogged/tweeted and have become

Improving Quality Of Cameras On Mobile Devices Essay
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Purpose of Plan
With the increasing quality of cameras on mobile devices, imaging document pages as an
alternative to scanning is becoming more feasible. However, camera captured document images
may suffer from degradations arising from the image acquisition process. In the presence of such
distortions, the ability to automatically assess the quality of captured images is also becoming
increasingly desirable.
In this project, our aim is to exhibit a detailed study of the types and sources of document image
degradations and then review the techniques for document image degradation. At the end, we
discuss some measures and conduct experiments that are used to characterize document image
quality.
1.2 Background Information
Optical character recognition (OCR) is the process of converting the text of a document image into
a format that can be easily edited by a computer. It is widely used as a form of data entry from
printed paper data records, whether passport documents, invoices, bank statement, receipts, business
card, mail, or other documents. There are many commercial OCR systems available, however, most
of the time, poor quality printed documents yield low recognition rates when submitted to them.
It is the most common method of converting printed texts into digital form so that it can be
electronically edited, searched, stored more easily, and used in machine processes such as machine
translation, text to speech, key data and text mining. OCR is a

1. Why is Coca Cola so interested in Africa, which is typically regarded as part of the base of the
global economic pyramid?
Coca Cola is an organization that has been around since 1892. Coca Cola is looking for new
emerging growth markets and Africa has proven to be that. Combined, 12 of the African countries
have a GDP greater than that of Chine. Coca Cola has 29% of the market share in Africa.

Sales in the United States are declining due to the public concern over sugar. Sales in Europe and
Japan are flat, while markets in China and India offer up strong completion for Coca Cola. Africa
s middle class population is growing at a steady rate, so the disposable income is increasing. This
creates an opportunity for Coca Cola to tap into growth opportunities (Natalia Cheverri 2012).
How does it work?
Although there are areas in Africa lacking infrastructure, Coca Cola operates in every country. Coca
Cola utilized a franchising manufacturing model that works perfectly for operating in Africa. Coca
Cola partnered with local licensed bottling groups to help create the product. Coca Cola
manufactures the syrup concentrate and sells to the bottlers. The bottlers add filtered water,
carbonation, and sweetener to make the final product. With this model, Coca Cola is sharing the
wealth with local investors/community members. This creates sustainable business and improves
community buy in with Coca Cola s existence in Africa (Maritz Jaco 2010). Because partnerships
are formed with local bottlers and local members of the community, there is a vested interest by
the locals to keep Coca Cola s business successful. Through these partnerships, Coca Cola is able to
help build the socio economic system in different towns.
Distribution

Another correlation that was calculated was between hours of sleep per night and academic credits

correlation exists, meaning that the more academic hours students are taking, the hours of sleep is
not as affected.
In response to the question, How many hours of sleep do you get on a typical night? , the mean
response was 3.39 (SD=.710) on a 5 point scale where 3 = 5 6 hours and 4 = 7 8 hours.
Overall participants reported sleeping M= 3.39 (SD=.710) around 5 8 hours.
A correlation calculated between average night of sleep as: Restless:Restful and academic credits

shows no relationship between these two variables.
In response to the question, How many academic credit hours are you currently enrolled in? The

Discussion
The research question revolved around whether the amount and extent of workload a student has at

Inspector Calls Themes
In the play An Inspector Calls , Priestley included 2 main themes: the general contrast and
responsibility. The first theme: general contrast was perhaps the most applied throughout the play,
such as in: the young age vs. the old age, the upper class vs. the lower class, the reality vs. the
predictions of the characters, in addition to socialism vs. capitalism. The young characters: Sheila
and Eric sympathized passionately with Eva unlike the elders: Gerald, Mr. and Ms. Birling. At an
unpredictable move, the young ones turned out to be matured enough to realize their guilt, to the
extent of them arguing and shouting at their own narrow minded parents. The elders their parents
in specific, believed that their social status deflected them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The second contrast lies between the upper and lower class. Priestley differentiated Eva Smith
from Daisy Renton; for each symbolizes a different social status Eva represented the struggling
workers while Daisy represented the pregnant prostitutes. Synecdoche was used in Edna, the
maid and Eva Smith to signify the working class, and the lowest class using Daisy Renton and
her unborn baby John. Mrs. Birling kept lowering the importance of girls in lower classes by
saying Girls from that class to indicate that she remained entirely untouched by Eva s death, to
extent of her ignoring and underestimating how desperate she was for love, money and
assistance. The other contrast content was rather ironic; it s regarding Mr. Birling s judgments.
Priestly used allusion to refer to the World War 2 and to the Titanic s famous sinking; in which he
denied that both would happen; I m talking as a hard headed man of practical man of business ...I
say there isn t a chance of war referring to World War 2 that actually happened and regarding the
Titanic unsinkable, absolutely unsinkable that also sank. This emphasizes what a narrow minded,
pompous snub Mr. Birling was. The final contrast could be presented between socialism and
capitalism. Mr. Birling

Matthew Miller Analysis
The human body and its relationship with technology in the digital age that we live in, plays as
the main inspirations for British designer Matthew Miller. His work reflects a belief that fashion
is essentially a product, just like anything else, that reflect simple manufacturing values. A graduate
of the Royal College of Art, Miller combines aspects of tailoring and casual wear to create delicate
fusions that utilise contemporary fabrication processes. His modern interpretation of classic
tailoring combined with a desire to use particular materials offer a glimpse into his creative mind.

Soy Sauces In East Asian And Southeast Asian Cultures
Soy sauce is widely used as an important flavouring and has been integrated into the traditional
cuisines of many East Asian and Southeast Asian cultures. Despite their rather similar appearance,
soy sauces made in different cultures and regions are different in taste, consistency, fragrance and
saltiness.
Soy sauce is a salty, brown liquid made from fermented soy beans mixed with some type of
roasted grain such as wheat, barley and rice, injected with a special yeast mold, Aspergillus
oryzae and liberally flavoured with salt. The sauce s consistency can range from very thin to very
thick. Flavours too, vary by type and have very subtle differences. There are many types of soy

Dark or old Chinese soy sauce is a dark, thick soy sauce, aged longer and added with molasses to
give it its distinctive look. This variety is mainly used as a table top seasoning, but is also used in
cooking. It has a richer flavour than light soy sauce, but is less salty.
Chinese soy sauce is made with a lower proportion of wheat than the lighter Japanese soy sauce.
Besides, Japanese style soy sauces tend to be clearer and thinner than Chinese soy sauces. Light
soy sauce from Japan has a thinner consistency and a saltier flavour than the darker varieties. It is
preferred when a darker sauce will ruin the appearance of a dish, or when a lighter flavour is
sought, especially when serving seafood.
Tamari is a deeply coloured Japanese soy sauce which has a rich texture and intense flavour. It
contains little or no wheat. Wheat free tamari can be used by people with gluten intolerance. It is
the original Japanese soy sauce, as its recipe is closest to the soy sauce originally introduced to
Japan from China. With a higher soybean content, tamari has a stronger flavour and is ideally used

How Technology Has Made Braces Faster And More Efficient
Daily, children and adults all over the world flood into orthodontic offices for consultations,
routine management checkups, and the rest. The majority of people in today s age have had or
will have braces at some point in their life. However, most people may not be aware of the
downsides to appliances such as braces. Although advancements in orthodontic technology have
made braces faster and more efficient, they are causing unnecessary stress on ligaments and gene
tissue found inside the mouth because of the new found techniques to speed up tooth movement. To
start, there are many children and adults undergo orthodontic treatment mainly for appearance;
however, there are many health concerns braces and other appliances can fix. Braces for teeth
consist of bands connected by wires and, sometimes, small rubber bands. Orthodontists use braces
to correct irregular positioning of the teeth and jaws ( Specialties of Dentistry 144). Correcting jaw
alignment can help improve the pain felt during biting and other jaw movements. Braces can be
applied to one s mouth for any duration of time ranging anywhere from 8 to 26 months.
Orthodontic appliances are designed to fix malocclusions of the mouth, which literally means bad
bite , and can be painful if not treated. Hilton explains, In a controlled manner, dental appliances
gently force teeth to move through the supporting bone to a desired position. The purpose of the
appliances is to correct tooth crowding, overjet or protruding

Risk Arbitrage Case
Risk Arbitrage: Abbott Labs and Alza
Harvard Business Review Case Study
1. BACKGROUND
Risk Arbitrage is essentially just arbitrage with some element of risk. Three main types of risk
arbitrage are merger and acquisition arbitrage (also known as just merger arbitrage), liquidation
arbitrage, and pairs trading. We will focus on merger arbitrage, as it pertains to this case study.
Merger arbitrage is an investment strategy that chooses to capitalize upon arbitrage that presents
when a merger or acquisition deal is announced. Essentially, an arbitrageur is seeking to profit from
the movements of the acquirer s and or target s stock price from the merger. There are two main
types of mergers, a cash merger and a stock merger, which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

to the very first words in the essay; The five paragraph formula confuses and alienates students and
undermines our most basic goals as writinginstructors. Foley believes that by teaching children to

the most part, the Shawnee have abandoned their nomadic roots. They have taken on modern tasks,
realizing that they would need to keep up with the times in order to survive. Currently occupying
regions of Oklahoma and Missouri, the tribe has split into three large groups, the Absentee

Morality of Population Control of Bangladesh Essay
Morality of Population Control of Bangladesh
ABSTRACT: The rapid rate of population growth in the last half of the present century causes
anxiety about the future of humanity because the amount of resources needed to satisfy basic
necessities is extremely large. Correspondingly, the satisfaction of basic needs cannot be the sole
criterion of the good life. Human beings have a right to live a life composed of things that make life
go best. The case of Bangladesh shows that the majority of people live a life barely worth living, a
life morally undesirable. One major reason is the rapid increase in population. Bangladesh covers an
area slightly less than that of the state of Illinois, but has a population that is roughly half of the ...

81.8 per housand, life expectation at birth is 56 years, literacy rate is 37% there is only one

in respect of the physical quality of life. One of the main reasons of this bleak picutre of
Bangladesh is its inability to keep the number of people within tolerable limits. In this condition it
is not desirable that people will knowingly produce children who would most likely live a life not
worthy of living a life so miserable that it would be better not having been born at all.
Narveson thinks that unhappiness that a prospective person will experience constitutes a moral
reason not to bring her or him (2) into existence while happiness which she or he is likely to
experience if born provides no moral reason to produce her or him. Morality seeks to promote
good and avoid harm or prevent suffering. Not harming people takes moral preference than
benefitting them. A moral justification, therefore, exists to avoid conception so that a probable
child would not be in abject poverty or suffer any form of adversities. The condition of Bangladesh
indicates that the individual or people who will come into existence in future will very likely

The Effects Of Autonomous Cars On Society Essay
Tyler Hagemeier
Dr. Learst
English 102
20 November 2016
Argumentative Essay While researching articles about autonomous cars, I found a few authors who
wrote about the effects of autonomous cars on society and whether or not these should be
introduced to our world s roads. On one hand, some authors believe self driving cars should not be
allowed on roads. They believe this revolution in the change of cars will destroy large industries
which includes the auto insurance industry, parking industry, and auto aftermarket industry.
However, with the expansion of these new technologies, it could introduce new industries as well.
Some say autonomous cars draw questions of ethicality with accidents because there is not a
human driving the vehicle. The truth is, human drivers cause a shocking amount of accidents
each year which could be greatly decreased by autonomous cars. My goal in this paper is to
argue that autonomous or self driving cars should be introduced to our world s roads because
there will be less accidents, massive economic benefits, and a more efficient form of
transportation. To achieve this goal, I have organized my paper into three sections. In this first
section, I will provide evidence and discuss the amount of accidents human drivers create on the
roads. I will then explain how self driving cars can limit the amount of accidents and discuss the
ethics of autonomous cars. In the second section, I will explain how autonomous cars can benefit the

Epic of Beowulf
Where Did the Christianity in Beowulf Come From?
The Christian influences in Beowulf ultimately came from the Christian/Catholic Church of Rome
which converted Romans, and thereby the Roman legions and thereby the occupied provinces. Also
the Christian/Catholic Bishop of Rome sent missionary priests and monks to the British Isles to
proselytze the population. There are additional considerations too.
First of all, let us be clear about the fact that the conversion of Britain to Christianity began quite
early. The Catholic priest Venerable Bede

the anti Christian Simon Magus encountered Peter the apostle in Rome:
He [Simon Magus] undertook a great journey from the East across the sea and fled to the West,
thinking that this was the only way for him to live according to his mind. Entering the city of
Rome, by the cooperation of that malignant spirit which had fixed its seat there, his attempts
were soon so far successful as to be honored as a god with the erection of a statue by the
inhabitants of that city. This, however, did not continue long; immediately under the reign of
Claudius, by the benign and gracious providence of God, Peter, that powerful and great apostle,
who by his courage took the lead of all the rest, was conducted to Rome against this pest of
mankind. He, like a noble commander of God fortified with the divine armor, bore the precious
merchandise of the revealed light from the East to those in the West, announcing the light itself and
salutary doctrine of the soul the proclamation of the kingdom of God.
Since Emperor Claudius died in 54AD and was succeeded by Tiberius Claudius Nero, Peter was

The Ethical And Legal Issues
The Issue
The concept of autonomy spans both ethical and legal issues as it pertains to the aging population.
This paper will focus on the ethical perspective of trying to keep a balance between allowing an
aging (65+) person to maintain their autonomy when making rational and intelligent life choices
while at the same time assisting them from making bad choices that might harm them emotionally,
financial, spiritually or even physically in some instances. Autonomy comes from the Greek word
for self rule, and defines a person s ability or capacity to make choices based on their personal

As unique as we are throughout our lifetimes, we are just as unique in how we age. Seniors
today who are 65 plus have a greater opportunity of living another thirty or more years, and while

the family and friends who will be the first to observe if someone is failing in ADL s (Activities of

The concept of nature has become layered with many complexities due to the numerous ways the
word can be interpreted. It could mean anything from the inherent character or basic constitution of
a person or thing to the external world in its entirety to a spontaneous attitude (Merriam Webster).
However, despite its many forms, in its essence, nature as a concept implicates powerlessness for
individuals. It will always be something that is beyond human control, whether it be the forces that
work around people such as weather or animals, or the innate and uncontrollable characteristics
within one s personality. Nature has control over the world, and one can decide to either fight this

In this play, words function as a mask that characters hide behind, while actions show their true
intentions. Accordingly, after the daughters who have no deep love for their father profess their
affection for him in a mendacious display of emotion, the daughter that loves Lear most,
Cordelia, refuses to compliment him, claiming she cannot heave [her] heart into [her mouth]
(1.1.88 89). She decides to rely on the actions of her past to reveal her affections, however, Lear
has yet to accept the value of honesty, so he rails against his youngest daughter exclaiming Let it
be so! Thy truth then be thy dower ...here I disclaim all my paternal care, propinquity and
property of blood, and as a stranger to my heart and me hold thee from this forever. (1.1.110

insecurities and inability to divulge his genuine nature. Having lived his whole life like a
performance on stage, he feels threatened by Cordelia s rejection of a false grandeur which Lear,
whether he realizes it or not, sees as a personal attack against his own fabricated identity.
Consequently, lashing out from his jealousy for Cordelia s ability to remain true to herself, Lear
acts against his better judgment by banishing her, and foreshadows the ironic trajectory of this story.

Population Growth in Perspective
Introduction
To anyone even remotely acquainted with the situation, the ever expanding world population can
easily be a cause of grave concern. Indeed, the simple realization that the total world population
will most likely be doubling within the next century may seem to imply catastrophe. Considering
the strain our current huge population puts on the world, is it not natural to presume that two
times our number will spell disaster? While this is the view held by many prominent voices, there
also is a less noticed group of people who contend that the resiliency of the earth and the ingenuity
of its people will keep the planet a decent place to live.

Generally, people have operated under the assumption that the world was (or was on its way to
being) overpopulated.
I began my research in this topic with the same outlook. I initially wanted to research
overpopulation because I was deeply concerned with its implications. I wanted to understand the
causes of population growth and to learn what might be done to ameliorate the problem. Soon into
the research, however, I happened upon pieces of literature opposing the idea of an overpopulation
crisis and immediately respected certain aspects of their arguments. Quickly, I was forced to
change the scope of my question from what will be the consequences of overpopulation? to what
exactly does overpopulation mean? and does an overpopulation problem even exist? .
History of Population Crises
The seed of my doubt that an overpopulation crisis was imminent was planted when I began to
examine the historical record of population concerns. As a history major, I have at least some
respect for patterns in history. While I recognize that new things can emerge, often a current event
is a variant on an earlier expressed theme.
Regarding population, the first documented concerns over population size date from a Babylonian
epic from 1600 BC (Cohen, 1995). More writings on the topic across the globe have continued
since then, themselves probably increasing at a rate faster than the

and early 1990s reflected technological change and global economic upheaval. The Reagan
administration introduced new philosophies, tentative and little understood at first, to justify
policies of redistributing tax burdens, exalting markets, over rewarding the rich and the
manipulations of financeВ… Using the previous example from Kevin Phillips, one can see how
the upper or high class will always attempt to gain more wealth and power, even at the expense of
the common good as well as the majority. The peasants and other low classes have always been
pressed on by their uppers. The Proles make up the majority of the population of Oceania, about
85%. The Party itself is only interested in their labor power, because the Proles are mainly
employed in the industry and in the farms (Gerenser). A society cannot exist without a working
class, and therefore it is the only reason why the Proles are still around. In 1984, Winston begins
to realize that the Proles may have a simpler and easier life than that of the Party. While the Outer
Party is working and

Suspended Driver s License In Violation
INTRODUCTION:
This case involves the suspect being arrested for driving on a suspended driver s license in
violation of CVC 14601.1 (a) Suspended Driver s License and an outstanding arrest warrant.
INVESTIGATION:
On 05 18 17 at 0107 hours, I was working uniformed patrol in police unit #16. I was traveling west
on Walnut Street approaching Madison Avenue. I observed a tan 4 door Kia Amanti also
traveling west on Walnut Street, directly in front of me. I saw that the vehicle did not have a rear
license plate in violation of CVC 5200(a) No License Plate.
I activated my overhead emergency lights/siren and conducted a traffic stop on Walnut Street
east of Madison Avenue. I contacted the driver, later identified as Suspect Emajanae Ayashi
Whitebear and asked for her driver s license, registration and proof of insurance. Whitebear gave
me a California ID card instead of a California driver s license. Whitebear stated her California
driver s license was recently reinstated from a prior suspension. Whitebear did not have proof of
her driver s license being reinstated. Officer Sprague arrived on scene and assisted me. ... Show

Whitebear also had an outstanding arrest warrant (see attached printout). I handcuffed and arrested
Whitebear on the arrest warrant. The handcuffs were double locked.
The vehicle was later towed by J M Towing located at 906 Westminster Avenue, Alhambra (626)
289 3288.
I then transported Whitebear to the Pasadena City Jail for booking. I issued Whitebear a citation
for CVC 14601.1(a) Suspended Driver s License and CVC 5200(a) No License Plates. Whitebear
is scheduled to appear at the Pasadena Court on 06 30 17 at 0830 hours (Citation #C420199).
Whitebear was held on the outstanding arrest

Summary Of Fifty Shades Freed
With the anticipation of Fifty Shades Darker coming out, it seems Dakota Johnson and Jamie
Dornan are already gearing up for Fifty Shades Freed. The two were spotted wandering up and
down the Cote d Azur beach. But the interesting part was when the actress was seen in a skimpy
yellow two piece bikini while photographers were taking pictures like crazy. Is this the scene
from the Fifty Shades Freed novel where the two lovers were already on their honeymoon? It
must be that because Dakota suddenly went topless to sunbathe while her co star Jamie Dornan
approached her for some massage. The sweetest part was when Jamie made sure his co star was
all covered up with a towel whenever they were not being filmed. According to reports, in the same

The Effects Of The Balance Of Power
The Effects of the Balance of Power
Introduction
In the breadth of International Relations, political theorists have been seeking a solution to
maintain peace and stability among states. As conflict among states is imminent, it is impossible to
fully eliminate war and aggression. However, the scope of international relations is to create an
effort to minimize conflict by using communicative techniques and strategies. The best way to
create diplomatic resolutions is to understand the function of the actors and their roles. The balance
of power is a strategic concept that offers a feasible solution to bring about stability and harmony to
conflicting states.
The primary instrument that engages the prospect of war, peace, and the balance of power is the
amount of actors who possess power on the international stage. There are three main systems to
classify the allocation of power in the international community. The three systems include a
unipolar, bipolar, and multipolar world. Many realists theorists correlate multi polar systems as
destructive and problematic in causing wars. Meanwhile, it is widely agreed that bipolarity
encourages stability and a unipolar world is the most ideal in maintaining peace. The objective of
this paper is to analyze these three concepts of distribution of power and how it has affected the
international stage after World War II.
Conceptualization: Balance of Power
The balance of power theory is considered a rudimentary concept in the field of

The Importance Of Selecting Criminal Defense Law
The need for a qualified legal guidance is an absolute must in case of criminal defense. Remember,
an aggressive and careful defense can eventually become the deciding factor between an acquittal
and conviction. Therefore, anticipate accordingly and hire a good criminal defense lawyer before it
gets too late.
Usually, a good lawyer or an efficient team of lawyers will start by thoroughly assessing the case
just to pick up traces of innate errors or instances of cardinal flaws within it. However, in a place
like Washington, the lawyers besides following a model similar to this go a step ahead to
investigate all possible factual claims and demands with utmost sincerity. They make it a point to
interrogate police officers and all possible witnesses in order to obtain a clear picture of the case
they are investigating. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, no matter what the crime is, you can do yourself a lot of favor by picking up the best
possible criminal defense lawyer in Washington.
Now, the task of selecting the best Washington lawyer in criminal defense is not an easy one by

The Cia s Role In The Opium Culture
The opium culture was already rampant before the CIA began their secret war in Laos, but the
agency also facilitated the trade. A correspondent for Christian Science Monitor reported in 1970
that the CIA is cognizant of, if not party to, the extensive movement of opium out of Laos. A pilot
also told the reporter that opium shipments get special CIA clearance and monitoring on their
flights southward out of the country. One former CIA agent stationed in Laos, Anthony Poshepny
aka Tony Poe, went on the record many years later. He said, It was all a contractual relationship,
just like bankers and businessmen. A wonderful relationship. Just a mafia. A big organized mafia.

Consequently, VA hospitals referred 12,000 U.S. soldiers returning from Vietnam for heroin
addiction. Astoundingly, only 3 of the 12,000 referred were treated, according to a congressional
subcommittee on public health. Thus, thousands of U.S. soldiers returned home addicted to heroin
and clearly expanded the demand for heroin in the U.S. In fact, massive amounts of heroin were
transported into the U.S. in the body bags of dead soldiers that had been gutted and stuffed with
heroin. Michael Levine, a DEA agent stationed in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, said that

Turbo vs Supercharger

Forced Induction Debate
One of the most commonly used ways to give a vehicle more horsepower today is forced
induction. There are two different types of this forced induction, which brings us to Forced
Induction Debate. The conflict most people face when deciding what they would rather install on
their car is what is better, a turbocharger or a supercharger? Both turbochargers and superchargers
have advantages and disadvantages, some of which are similar. Choosing the right kind of forced
induction for your vehicle will depend upon your vehicle and your power preferences.
The first type of forced induction is the supercharger. A supercharger is mounted to the engine and
is driven by a pulley ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The smaller the turbocharger, the less lag is produced. When a supercharger is activated, there is
absolutely no lag at all because it is connected directly to the crank. This means that
superchargers are able to produce boost at very low levels of rpm, giving the engine more power
the whole time the supercharger is running. This is very important for those people who drive the
supercharged trucks that are heavier than most cars and are usually hauling heavy loads in the back
of the truck or on a trailer.
The turbocharger makes up for its lag with its ability to generate mass amounts of power to the
engine. Turbochargers take barely any power from the engine to create boost. Turbochargers
use the gas heat and engine pressure to create boost and give the engine more power. Most
turbochargers produce 40 percent more power to an engine. So if a vehicle had a 200
horsepower engine and was running off of a turbocharger producing 10 pounds of boost, the
engine would actually be running off of 280 horsepower. A supercharger produces mass amounts
of boost for the engine from the crankshaft of the engine itself to compress air and make boost.
While running, a supercharger uses valuable power from the engine which must be taken away
from the gain of power in the long run. A vehicle with and engine producing 200 horsepower and a
supercharger producing 10 pounds of boost would only make the vehicles total

Bank Accounting Information System and Electronic Banking
Introduction Information technology has had as much impact on our society as the industrial
revolution. In the information age, companies are finding that success or failure is increasingly
dependent on their management and use of information. Therefore, companies need a good
information system that enabled an efficient and effective use of information to give them more
competitive advantage (Moscove, Simkin, Bagranoff, 1999).
An information system is a set of interrelated subsystems that work together to collect, process,
store, transform, and distribute information for planning, decisions making, and control. An
information system need not be a computerized system, but the use of computer in information

Electronic technology spreads from this central point through the whole process of bank funds
transmissions, finally reaching outside the banks direct to retail customers and corporate treasuries.
Electronic banking started in the United States because the clearing arrangements between the
large numbers of geographically dispersed US banks was extremely inefficient. Corporate
customer pressure for improvements was becoming irresistible. In addition, the early availability
of cheap computing power encouraged pioneering work in the United States to achieve savings
from more efficient use of the banking system. The creative use of the emerging technology,
which had been developed for other purposes, and paid for by other industries research budgets,
was fundamental to the progress of electronic banking and the significant savings achieved
thereby. The American banks did not have it all their own way. The first ATMs in the world were
introduced to the public in the United Kingdom by Barclays Bank in 1969. Once customers
became familiar with them, they spread rapidly. By 1985, 160,000 units were run by banks
worldwide, with about 9,000 in the United Kingdom (Deakin, Goddard Welch, 1999).
By 1990, the pace of change had started to accelerate В– electronic banking had become the norm
in corporate treasuries with electronic links between balance reporting systems and second
generation treasury management system or spreadsheets and from treasury systems to

The Sacrament Of Baptism And Communion
THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM AND COMMUNION
The Sacrament of Baptism is a gift of grace that brings us into union with God, church, and the
Christian community. God s plan since the foundation of the of the earth was to enter into a
covenant relationship with all inhabitants, in order to bless them. The New Testament Covenant is
established through Jesus Christ and consist of baptism by water and the spirit. Mark 16:16, the
one who believes and is baptized will be saved; but the one who does not believe will be
condemned (NIV). By being obedient to Christ, we become participants in this sacred act of
Baptism. Gayle Carlton Felton wrote a book, By Water And The Spirit, and she shares about the
tradition of Baptism in the United Methodist Church. John Wesley plays a major role in helping
shape the doctrine of The United Methodist Church.
The United Methodist Church is diverse in the way it offers the Sacramental Baptism; Candidates
or their parents have the choice of sprinkling, pouring, or immersion, and pastors and
congregations should be prepared to honor the requests for baptism in any of these modes
(Committee 1992, p. 81). It is important for individuals to understand the meaning of each mode.
Immersion symbolizes the burial and resurrection with Christ, and being born of a new water and
the spirit. Pouring or sprinkling water on the head signifies pouring out of the Holy Spirit. Pastors
should be able to share each mode with the candidates. The United Methodist

Comparing Schiele s Reclining Woman And Liepke
A study of Egon Schiele s drawing, Reclining woman (1916) and Malcolm Liepke s painting,
Eternal and Close cropped blonde present women as respected figures. Despite portrayed as erotic
and sexual, the artworks of both artists have highlighted sexuality and cultural symbolism in their
corresponding contexts. Whilst Schiele s sensitive drawings are graphic and provocative, frequently
modeling nude women, the embrace of physical distortion highlights his genuine obsessiveness and
adoration of women in contextual society. In contrast, Liepke s paintings reflect women caught up
in intimate moments highlighting themes of femininity, cultural symbolism and topics of
ideologies from a postmodern perspective. It is the exploration of each artist s... Show more content

Heavily influenced by conceptual styles of Edgar Degas and John Singer Sargent, Liepke takes
on the perspective of a flaneur, observing contemporary life whilst hoping to reveal the
personalities and intimacies of his sitters. This sense of intimacy is expressed in Eternal, where a
voyeuristic nude is captured through a realistic lens over a pornographic one that is alluring and
honest despite bare appearance. Representing the female subject as someone to be liberated,
Liepke manipulates stylistic poses for the nude model as she is rolled up like that of a child in a
fetal position upon a dark and thick surface creating a contrast, suggesting protection and
vulnerability being exposed. This mirrors the dominating psychological reactions of female citizens
being restricted and grounded in traditions of submissiveness and limited freedom in response to
corrupt post modern expectations. Liepke reinvestigates the cultural representation of female roles
in using vector lines that separate the background into three sections. Of which the stray brushwork
in the gold, yellow ochre wall conveys a freedom of mind and casualness encapsulating majority of
the figure yet not entirely. Being quarantined by the pillars of sap green

Workplace Violence Outline
A.Imagine a violent situation escalates in your work area. Violent workplace situations are
becoming more common in today s work environment. While many of these events seemingly
happen in the civilian sector, workplace violence is a current issue in the United States Air Force.
Incidents involving fatalities in Myrtle Beach, McGuire, Fairchild, and the Air Force Academy
illustrate that all members play a vital role in recognizing potentially violent situations. So while the
definition of workplace violenceis subject to interpretation, the impact to the workplace quite clear,
and the proactive steps taken to prevent and diffuse these situations have huge social and economic

Literary Analysis Of The Academic Bowl By E. L. Konigsburg
At the beginning of the novel, the author, E.L. Konigsburg, sets up the story at a state Academic
Bowl. The academic bowl takes place on a Saturday in May. The author first introduces us to Mrs.
Olinski, a sixth grade teacher at Epiphany Middle School. We also meet her academic bowl team,
The Souls. Next, Konigsburg introduces us to a sixth grader, Noah Gershom. Noah often uses
sarcasm to make his point. Fact: Noah Gershom loves facts. Currently, there are only two teams left
in the Bowl, Epiphany and Maxwell. The state superintendent asks a question about the meaning of
calligraphy, and Noah buzzes in. Using a pun, Konigsburg relates Noah being the first chosen to
answer the question to him being the first chosen for the team. The question about calligraphy...

calligraphy. Therefore, Noah s Grandpa drove them to a local art store to buy Noah a

him how to write with one. She also showed him the six tedious steps you have to complete
before you start writing. Everything was going fine with the invitations until the cat knocked
down the bottle of ink, and stepped on five of the invitations. Therefore, Noah went and bought
Post it notes to stick on top of the ruined part of the invitations. On the sticky notes he wrote that
whoever had the paw print on their invitation could claim their prize at the wedding. Noah didn t
know what the prizes were yet. Now, wedding day came around and the cake was finished and
ready to be delivered. Here Konigsburg uses foreshadowing to show that something is going to

Ulysses And Tennyson Comparison
In Tennyson s Ulysses , this poem is essentially an address or monologue of Ulysses and his
aging. The views throughout the poem coincide with the episode in The Odyssey , where
Calypso offers Odysseus to live like a god and is rejected by him. In The Odyssey , Homer
portrays him as middle aged, while in Ulysses , he is reflected as an old man. Tennyson reflects
on Ulysses old triumphs, going back to his past and remembering what he has been through, while
preparing for his encounter with the death of aging. Ulysses views are reflected in the episode of
Calypso offering Odysseusimmortality through, his knowledge that comes with old age, missing
his longing for adventure, and instead of choosing immortality chooses to live immortal through...

In Ulysses, Tennyson describes the views he has after his homecoming and the Odysseyends after
he has been back home, and doesn t go any further than that. Both of these stories explain
Ulysses/Odysseus in various ways but with the same mindful curiosity. They both long/longed
for adventure and to see other cultures and oversee other peoples lifestyles. In the Odyssey, it is
all about the adventure in store and where he is going and what he is going to see on his way
home, but in Ulysses it is all about the trials and adventures as a whole and how he felt about it
all. Ulysses thought of returning home is unappealing to him but in the Odyssey he longs for
his return and cannot wait for that day to come. Ulysses longs for the movement, the journey to
keep him moving, not stopping. Here, old age has made him look at it in a different perspective;
he values the journey more than that of in the odyssey. When Denying Calypso s invitation for
living like a god with complete immortality, he contradicts himself and chooses the metaphor. So
in Ulysses, he reminisces on all of his work and how he will be remembered when he is long
gone through his great trails and achievements, be remembered through his fame, the metaphor.
He mentions that his son will take over after him and continue his fame with the family name. In
Ulysses he says how that since he is getting old and nearing his death that his son who he realizes
is older now will help him after he is gone. In the Odyssey, he doesn t like just sitting back and
watching his son slowly take over, which causes him to leave in the first place. When he is nearing
death, the Odyssey it is predicted that he will die peacefully and quietly in Ithaca but in Ulysseys, at
the end of Tennyson s poem he is not peaceful at all and is getting weaker

This creates an opportunity for Coca Cola to tap into growth opportunities (Natalia Cheverri 2012). How does it work? Although there are areas in Africa lacking infrastructure, Coca Cola operates in every country. Coca Cola utilized a franchising manufacturing model that works perfectly for operating in Africa. Coca Cola partnered with local licensed bottling groups to help create the product. Coca Cola manufactures the syrup concentrate and sells to the bottlers. The bottlers add filtered water, carbonation, and sweetener to make the final product. With this model, Coca Cola is sharing the wealth with local investors/community members. This creates sustainable business and improves community buy in with Coca Cola s existence in Africa (Maritz Jaco 2010). Because partnerships are formed with local bottlers and local members of the community, there is a vested interest by the locals to keep Coca Cola s business successful. Through these partnerships, Coca Cola is able to help build the socio economic system in different towns. The first theme: general contrast was perhaps the most applied throughout the play, such as in: the young age vs. the old age, the upper class vs. the lower class, the reality vs. the predictions of the characters, in addition to socialism vs. capitalism. The young characters: Sheila and Eric sympathized passionately with Eva unlike the elders: Gerald, Mr. and Ms. Birling. Mrs. Birling kept lowering the importance of girls in lower classes by saying Girls from that class to indicate that she remained entirely untouched by Eva s death, to extent of her ignoring and underestimating how desperate she was for love, money and assistance. The other contrast content was rather ironic; it s regarding Mr. Birling s judgments. The Effects Of Autonomous Cars On Society Essay Tyler Hagemeier Dr. Learst English 102 20 November 2016 Argumentative Essay While researching articles about autonomous cars, I found a few authors who wrote about the effects of autonomous cars on society and whether or not these should be introduced to our world s roads. On one hand, some authors believe self driving cars should not be allowed on roads. They believe this revolution in the change of cars will destroy large industries which includes the auto insurance industry, parking industry, and auto aftermarket industry. However, with the expansion of these new technologies, it could introduce new industries as well. Some say autonomous cars draw questions of ethicality with accidents because there is not a human driving the vehicle. The truth is, human drivers cause a shocking amount of accidents each year which could be greatly decreased by autonomous cars. My goal in this paper is to argue that autonomous or self driving cars should be introduced to our world s roads because there will be less accidents, massive economic benefits, and a more efficient form of transportation. To achieve this goal, I have organized my paper into three sections. In this first section, I will provide evidence and discuss the amount of accidents human drivers create on the roads. I will then explain how self driving cars can limit the amount of accidents and discuss the ethics of autonomous cars. In the second section, I will explain how autonomous cars can benefit the ... • 33. King Lear Nature The concept of nature has become layered with many complexities due to the numerous ways the word can be interpreted. It could mean anything from the inherent character or basic constitution of a person or thing to the external world in its entirety to a spontaneous attitude (Merriam Webster). However, despite its many forms, in its essence, nature as a concept implicates powerlessness for individuals. It will always be something that is beyond human control, whether it be the forces that work around people such as weather or animals, or the innate and uncontrollable characteristics within one s personality. Nature has control over the world, and one can decide to either fight this authority or succumb to it. This idea is seen very... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this play, words function as a mask that characters hide behind, while actions show their true intentions. Accordingly, after the daughters who have no deep love for their father profess their affection for him in a mendacious display of emotion, the daughter that loves Lear most, Cordelia, refuses to compliment him, claiming she cannot heave [her] heart into [her mouth] (1.1.88 89). She decides to rely on the actions of her past to reveal her affections, however, Lear has yet to accept the value of honesty, so he rails against his youngest daughter exclaiming Let it be so! Thy truth then be thy dower ...here I disclaim all my paternal care, propinquity and property of blood, and as a stranger to my heart and me hold thee from this forever. (1.1.110 115). Both Lear s strong reaction and his rejection of truth and honesty reflect his own insecurities and inability to divulge his genuine nature. Having lived his whole life like a performance on stage, he feels threatened by Cordelia s rejection of a false grandeur which Lear, whether he realizes it or not, sees as a personal attack against his own fabricated identity. Consequently, lashing out from his jealousy for Cordelia s ability to remain true to herself, Lear acts against his better judgment by banishing her, and foreshadows the ironic trajectory of this story. Population Growth in Perspective Essays Population Growth in Perspective Introduction To anyone even remotely acquainted with the situation, the ever expanding world population can easily be a cause of grave concern. Indeed, the simple realization that the total world population will most likely be doubling within the next century may seem to imply catastrophe. Considering the strain our current huge population puts on the world, is it not natural to presume that two times our number will spell disaster? Generally, people have operated under the assumption that the world was (or was on its way to being) overpopulated. I began my research in this topic with the same outlook. I initially wanted to research overpopulation because I was deeply concerned with its implications. I wanted to understand the causes of population growth and to learn what might be done to ameliorate the problem. Soon into the research, however, I happened upon pieces of literature opposing the idea of an overpopulation crisis and immediately respected certain aspects of their arguments. Quickly, I was forced to change the scope of my question from what will be the consequences of overpopulation? to what exactly does overpopulation mean? and does an overpopulation problem even exist? . History of Population Crises The seed of my doubt that an overpopulation crisis was imminent was planted when I began to examine the historical record of population concerns. As a history major, I have at least some respect for patterns in history. While I recognize that new things can emerge, often a current event is a variant on an earlier expressed theme. Regarding population, the first documented concerns over population size date from a Babylonian epic from 1600 BC (Cohen, 1995). The sky clear, blue and bright with a few lingering perfectly formed cotton clouds. The trees just starting to turn from their deep green to shades of orange, yellow and brown. The grazing grass that surrounds still the brightest shade of green imaginable. There are many at this entrance of the castle, standing tall and at attention to welcome this young woman home. As conflict among states is imminent, it is impossible to fully eliminate war and aggression. However, the scope of international relations is to create an effort to minimize conflict by using communicative techniques and strategies. The best way to create diplomatic resolutions is to understand the function of the actors and their roles. The balance of power is a strategic concept that offers a feasible solution to bring about stability and harmony to conflicting states. The primary instrument that engages the prospect of war, peace, and the balance of power is the amount of actors who possess power on the international stage. There are three main systems to classify the allocation of power in the international community. The three systems include a unipolar, bipolar, and multipolar world. There are two different types of this forced induction, which brings us to Forced Induction Debate. The conflict most people face when deciding what they would rather install on their car is what is better, a turbocharger or a supercharger? Both turbochargers and superchargers have advantages and disadvantages, some of which are similar. Choosing the right kind of forced induction for your vehicle will depend upon your vehicle and your power preferences. The first type of forced induction is the supercharger. A supercharger is mounted to the engine and is driven by a pulley ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The smaller the turbocharger, the less lag is produced. When a supercharger is activated, there is absolutely no lag at all because it is connected directly to the crank. This means that superchargers are able to produce boost at very low levels of rpm, giving the engine more power the whole time the supercharger is running. This is very important for those people who drive the supercharged trucks that are heavier than most cars and are usually hauling heavy loads in the back of the truck or on a trailer. The turbocharger makes up for its lag with its ability to generate mass amounts of power to the engine. Turbochargers take barely any power from the engine to create boost. Turbochargers use the gas heat and engine pressure to create boost and give the engine more power. Most turbochargers produce 40 percent more power to an engine. So if a vehicle had a 200 horsepower engine and was running off of a turbocharger producing 10 pounds of boost, the engine would actually be running off of 280 horsepower. A supercharger produces mass amounts of boost for the engine from the crankshaft of the engine itself to compress air and make boost. While running, a supercharger uses valuable power from the engine which must be taken away from the gain of power in the long run. A vehicle with and engine producing 200 horsepower and a supercharger producing 10 pounds of boost would only make the vehicles total ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Next, Konigsburg introduces us to a sixth grader, Noah Gershom. Noah often uses sarcasm to make his point. Fact: Noah Gershom loves facts. Currently, there are only two teams left in the Bowl, Epiphany and Maxwell. The state superintendent asks a question about the meaning of calligraphy, and Noah buzzes in. Using a pun, Konigsburg relates Noah being the first chosen to answer the question to him being the first chosen for the team. The question about calligraphy... He decided to ask Tillie if he could help with the invitations, she agreed and also gave Noah a brief lesson about the meaning of calligraphy. Therefore, Noah s Grandpa drove them to a local art store to buy Noah a calligraphy pen and a bottle of ink. Now that Noah had his own calligraphy pen, Tillie showed him how to write with one. She also showed him the six tedious steps you have to complete before you start writing. Everything was going fine with the invitations until the cat knocked down the bottle of ink, and stepped on five of the invitations. Therefore, Noah went and bought Post it notes to stick on top of the ruined part of the invitations. On the sticky notes he wrote that whoever had the paw print on their invitation could claim their prize at the wedding. Noah didn t know what the prizes were yet. • 55. Ulysses And Tennyson Comparison In Tennyson s Ulysses , this poem is essentially an address or monologue of Ulysses and his aging. The views throughout the poem coincide with the episode in The Odyssey , where Calypso offers Odysseus to live like a god and is rejected by him. In The Odyssey , Homer portrays him as middle aged, while in Ulysses , he is reflected as an old man. Tennyson reflects on Ulysses old triumphs, going back to his past and remembering what he has been through, while preparing for his encounter with the death of aging. Ulysses views are reflected in the episode of Calypso offering Odysseusimmortality through, his knowledge that comes with old age, missing his longing for adventure, and instead of choosing immortality chooses to live immortal through... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Ulysses, Tennyson describes the views he has after his homecoming and the Odysseyends after he has been back home, and doesn t go any further than that. Both of these stories explain Ulysses/Odysseus in various ways but with the same mindful curiosity. They both long/longed for adventure and to see other cultures and oversee other peoples lifestyles. In the Odyssey, it is all about the adventure in store and where he is going and what he is going to see on his way home, but in Ulysses it is all about the trials and adventures as a whole and how he felt about it all. Ulysses thought of returning home is unappealing to him but in the Odyssey he longs for his return and cannot wait for that day to come. Ulysses longs for the movement, the journey to keep him moving, not stopping. Here, old age has made him look at it in a different perspective; he values the journey more than that of in the odyssey. When Denying Calypso s invitation for living like a god with complete immortality, he contradicts himself and chooses the metaphor. So in Ulysses, he reminisces on all of his work and how he will be remembered when he is long gone through his great trails and achievements, be remembered through his fame, the metaphor. He mentions that his son will take over after him and continue his fame with the family name. In Ulysses he says how that since he is getting old and nearing his death that his son who he realizes is older now will help him after he is gone. In the Odyssey, he doesn t like just sitting back and watching his son slowly take over, which causes him to leave in the first place. When he is nearing death, the Odyssey it is predicted that he will die peacefully and quietly in Ithaca but in Ulysseys, at the end of Tennyson s poem he is not peaceful at all and is getting weaker ...
