3. CRUST
Crust is the uppermost layer over the Earth
surface.
It is the thinnest layer on the Earth.
It is 35 Km thin on the continental masses and
only 5 Km on the ocean floors.
The main mineral present in the continental
mass are Sial (Silica – Si and Al – Aluminum ).
In the ocean floor the main mineral is Sima (
Si – Silica and Ma – Magnesium ).
4. MANTLE
Beneath the Crust there is a another layer known as Mantle.
It is 2900 km thick layer.
It lies between Crust and the Core.
It is made up of dense and heavy materials, such as Iron and
Magnesium.
The temperature in this layer is very high . Magma is found in
this layer.
5. CORE
It is the innermost layer of the Earth . It
is also known as barysphere.
It is below the Mantle.
The radius of the core is about 3500 km.
It is mainly made up of Nickel and Iron
and is called Nife .
The temperature of this layer is between
2200 degree Celsius and 5000 degree
Celsius.
