Coyotes are found throughout North America and can live in various habitats. They are highly adaptable and some populations have adapted to living in urban and suburban areas. Coyotes are omnivorous and will eat a variety of foods including small animals, plants, and human garbage. They live and hunt alone or in small packs. Coyotes communicate through vocalizations and scent marking of territory. Females typically give birth to litters of 3-12 pups which are cared for by both parents. Coyotes can live 10-14 years on average in the wild.
