5th Grade Teacher – Stadium Drive
This is a handout for you as well,
but these are the features we will
be discussing quickly.
Steps to starting your interactive projector
1. Click on your keyboard and the letter p
2. Click “duplicate”
3. Click on

3. You will then see the following bars appear:
Whiteboard Mode Annotation Mode
Looks like a whiteboard
or you can change the
background to grid paper,
color, or lines for writing.
You can also print the
slides for students who
need your notes.
Whatever is on your
screen, you can
annotate using your
pen – document,
webpage, picture,
home screen, etc.
o Click
o Select the part you want to
enlarge

o Select the part you want to cover up using the gray outline
around the shade (you can move it up/down or left/right)

Steps to scanning a document to project on your
whiteboard:
1. Scan your document at the copier (load, click the scan
button, find your name, and then click start).
2. You will receive an email with a PDF file. Open it.
3. If you are in the program, you can then annotate
the document.
4. You can choose to save the annotations or just save
the document.

o Students manipulate the clock
using the interactive pen
o Set as many clocks as possible
in two minutes.
o Easy setting: times that end in
:00, :15, :30, or :45.
o Medium setting: includes the
above as well as five-minute
intervals.
o Advanced setting: includes
times to one-minute intervals
o Challenge setting: includes
difficult elapsed time problems
o LIVE streaming videos of different animal
reserves in Africa. Many different live streams
to choose from.
o FREE – but you can upgrade if you choose
o Upgrade to view more live streams
o Day and night streaming
o Teach or learn about animal interactions,
ecosystems, animal relationships, compare and
contrast opportunities, link to read aloud Home
of the Brave (5th grade), etc.
o Practice making observations as scientists
o Negative – commercials every few minutes,
time difference of 7 hours

to see who would be the “student teacher”.

o Used for introducing and exploring ideas
o Reveal a small bit of an image using the flashlight tool
Steps of a Zoom In
o Students look closely at a small bit of the image.
o Ask: What do you see or notice?
o Ask: What is your hypothesis of what this might be based on
what you are seeing?
o Reveal more of the image
o Ask: What new things do you see?
o Ask: How does this change your hypothesis?
o Ask: What new things are you wondering about?
o Repeat the reveal until the full image is shown
o At the end of the zoom in, ask students what lingering
questions they still have about the image.

o Students can use it at
home as well.

read aloud to students.
Each book has a brief
summary, reading level, and
games that link to the book.
