 The Integumentary System has three components.
    - Skin is the major organ in the system and acts
      as a barrier between the internal and external
      environments.
 The skin has three parts: the epidermis, dermis and the
  subcutaneous layer. (Illustration below)

 Hair is the one of the two accessory organs in the
 system that can be found in the dermis layer of
 the skin. They are composed of the protein
 keratin.

 Nails are the final accessory organs in the
 integumentary system. They cover and protect
 the ends of the fingers and toes.

 Dermat - Skin
      From the combining from dermat/o
 -Itis – Inflammation
      Inflammation of the skin = Dermatitis
MELANOCYTE
 Melano – Black
 -Cyte – Cell
            A black cell - Melanocyte
ONYCHOPHAGIA
 Onych/o – Nail
 -Phagia – Eating
      Nail biting or eating = Onychophagia
XERODERMA
 XER/O – DRY
 DERMA - SKIN
          DRY SKIN = Xeroderma
