How could Open Badges Transform ePortfolio Practices and Technologies! Serge Ravet
Looking at the history of ePortfolio practice and technologies over the last 10 years, one is entitled in asking: what has changed? Is the ePortfolio technology we have today that different from what we had 10 years ago? While there is certainly a wider spread of ePortfolios, have ePortfolios transformed practice or been assimilated by institutions?
Open Badges are the opportunity to reinvent ePortfolio technology and practice, and create the conditions for an effective shift of the locus of power from institutions to individuals and communities. Shall we be able to seize this opportunity?
The challenge of quality in peer-produced eLearning contenteLearning Papers
Author: Ari-Matti Auvinen
Peer production and user-created content is becoming an important element in modern eLearning, supported by the development of the Internet from a one-way information distribution channel to a two-way communication channel.
Presented at a workshop of the Dutch Digital University on 19th September 2006 this ppt describes the establishment and development of the Learning Exchange: a national learning object repository for social work education in Scotland.

Online Learning Design for Diversity and Inclusion Shalin Hai-Jew
Social inclusion and respect for diversity are some of the most important democratic values that inform learning design. The educational research literature offers methods for how to design teaching and learning for people in all (many of?) their complex dimensions:
demographics;
cultures [including worldviews, beliefs, values, practices, and others];
languages;
learning preferences;
differing perceptions and information processing, and others,
… so that all are included and supported and welcomed. Widely known approaches include accessibility mitigations, universal design practices, multi-cultural adaptations, and others. This presentation provides a light overview of suggested practices and how these are applied to practical instructional designs of online learning with modern technological enablements.
This is a presentation by the Division of Information and Technology Studies, Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong. Advances in information and communication technology, especially the rapid developments in social technology such as wikis, blogs, social bookmarking, etc. have opened up new opportunities as well as challenges to education in schools as well as human resource development and training in public and business sectors. In the seminar, a group of experts introduce recent developments in learning technology and how these have been applied in different educational and human resource development contexts internationally and locally.

SMEs are known to face cash flow problems, skill attrition as well as bad debts due to non realization of unfinished projects . In this situation the sentiments are low and hence these problems would be accentuated further. Some of the Challenges of SMEs in Downturn:
• Limited opportunities for Economies of scale
• Increased development cost, low profits
• Loosing customers, repeat order
• Higher cost of marketing
About identity andr trust in the digital world, about certification of competences, open badges and e-portfolio. As told by Serge Ravet in Rome, May 8th 2015
The modern library web environment consists of multiple content sources and applications that perform essential functions that often overlap and could potentially create a fractured user experience. For example, content in a library’s Drupal website may be replicated in LibGuides or WordPress blogs. Search functionality in a discovery platform may be replicated in a federated search tool or the ILS OPAC. This presentation provides tips, tackles technical and political challenges to building a single web experience for users, discusses solutions and use of APIs (application programming interfaces), provides concrete examples, and more.
http://www.tatainteractive.com/: Tin Can, the Experience API, is the heart of eLearning design! The technology can allow designers to create learning experiences that are more organic,fluid API has the potential to transform the design of learning. And fun.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This slide is special for master students (MIBS & MIFB) in UUM. Also useful for readers who are interested in the topic of contemporary Islamic banking.
11. Evolution of Web Technology Web 3.0 Web 3.0, a phrase coined by John Markoff of the New York Times in 2006, refers to a supposed third generation of Internet-based services that collectively comprise what might be called 'the intelligent Web'—such as those using semantic web, microformats, natural language search, data-mining, machine learning, recommendation agents, and artificial intelligence technologies—which emphasize machine-facilitated understanding of information in order to provide a more productive and intuitive user experience.
