The main institution for Paranormal Activity are ‘Solana Films’ works in a very easy
and understandable way and only a small budget is used and the common and
expected equipment would be used. The production of Paranormal Activity would
have been cheap as traditional equipment was used to create the film and the
distribution of Paranormal Activity would have also been relatively cheap as it was
not made to be as big of a film as it became.
The main institutions for The Wolf Of Wall Street were Paramount Pictures and
Universal Pictures. A IMAX camera was not used once in any of the scenes so a lot of
money was saved as the IMAX cameras are very expensive so there were not any
unnecessary expenses.

It was made by a group of friends and they got other people around them and they
got people to send in videos what they believe should be included in the film and
what scars and horrors should be used in the film. Very cheap CGI was used and it
was very easy to set the movie up and it was very easy to film the scenes in a small
house with a little amount of equipment and money. Paranormal Activity cost to
produce the whole film was around £11,000. Paranormal Activity became as big as
it did because the film was bought by Paramount Pictures and that allowed
Paranormal Activity to be advertised and it became a very popular and well known
film.
The Wolf of Wall Street was produced by Paramount Pictures and Universal
Pictures so it became big through use of trailers being put onto YouTube, TV
adverts and images put onto billboards so it was seen throughout the UK and it
became international. The budget of The Wolf Of Wall Street £100,000,000 which
includes everything that was used in the film.

The first of the Paranormal Activity sequel horror films made the screens in 2009. The film
cost roughly £11,000 to produce and earned £180 million for Paramount Pictures. Without

My high budget film choice was produced by Paramount Pictures as well as Universal Pictures which
are both big and well known film companies and this is a reason why The Wolf Of Wall Street
became international because advertisement was affordable.

The differences between high budget films and low budget films in terms of the
institutions is that the low budget film producers are normally unknown or not a
very large company compared to those who create high budget films, which are

The similarities that exist between high budget films and low budget films in the
terms of institutions as they both try to make money enough to create a large profit
and they both target an audience and they both create mass market and niche

Other similarities include they both need their movies to be shown in the cinemas
to create a profit margin for both institutions.

The films that Paramount Pictures mainly produce are action films such as Iron
Man, Transformers and Spider Man and this is important when considering who
could produce your film because if a company who only produces romance films
produces would not be able to produce a action or horror movie and this is
because some companies stick to certain genres of films of producing.

through their film choice, or does this vary?
Paramount Pictures aim to appeal to those who watch mainly action films as that is
there main genre that they produce so their main audience is those who watch
action movies.
Solana Films appeal to those who enjoy watching horrors and they choose to do
this because that is what they have chose to produce as that is the genre they have
chose to only advertise.

successful, considering your research? Explain your reasons.
I believe Paramount Pictures outperforms the other institution because It has made
more films and the films that they have produced are a much larger audience types
and many genres of films have been produced by Paramount Pictures and this is
why Paramount Pictures outperforms Solana Films because they have only created
Paranormal Activity sequel.
Paramount Pictures have outperformed also because they have reached a larger
audience than Solana Films as their films only were watched by those who watch
horror films.
