Innowattech’s Railroad Monitoring Solution


IPEG PAD
Using the present rubber pad, which is located between the rail and the sleeper,
used to damp the vibrations of the rail.

IPEG PAD is assembled as usual under the rail, and it will
serve as before for damping purposes.

At the same time the pad will be used for rail and track
monitoring solution.

This solution is a simple one, does not require any
changes of the sleeper and its assembly is done in a
short time.

  •Length of the train at any speed.

  •Sleeper's health alert.

The solution consists of:
•8 IPEG Pads

•Measurement unit for local processing of the data.

•Data transmitter.

•PC with software.

•RFID Tag-reader (optional).

Example of a signal measurement
The amplitude of the signal is based on the voltage derived from our PAD.

The figure shows the bending of the rail during the passage of a two-axle bogie;

The first wheel has a significant wheel defect.

Data output
•Speed of train- The speed of train is recorded and transmitted in real time
•Length of the train at any speed- Length of each train is monitored and
transmitted in real time.
•Number of wagons at any speed- The number of wagons on each train is
monitored and transmitted in real time.
•Number of axles at any speed- The number of axles on each train is counted and
transmitted in real time.
•Weight of axles, wagons and train at any speed- Precise weight of each axle
and wagon. Alert will be given if any over weight is occurring on the track. The
specific wagon and axle is recorded and monitored.

Data output
•Distance between 2 consecutive trains at any speed- Distance between
consecutive trains is monitored and an alert will be given in real time if distance is
smaller than agreed upon.
•Distance between 2 opposite trains at any speed- Distance between opposite
trains is monitored and an alert will be given in real time if distance is smaller than
agreed upon.
•Wheel defect control and wheel diameter at any speed- Real time alert and
recording of all trains wheels health and condition.
•Rail track health monitoring- The condition and health of the rail tracks will be
monitored. If any change occurs in infrastructure, a real time alert and notification
will be given.

  • 3. Innowattech’s Railroad Monitoring Solution IPEG PAD Using the present rubber pad, which is located between the rail and the sleeper, used to damp the vibrations of the rail.
