Karta, co-parceners, inherited, property, minor, Hindu Undivided Family,
Joint Hindu family.
1]A HUF Business refers to the business which is owned by the members
of a Joint Hindu family.
Ø 2] Hindu Undivided Family Business is also called Joint Hindu Family
business
Ø 3] The family possess some inherited property
Ø 4] The all members of the HUF are called co-parcencers
Ø 5] The senior most male members of the family is called Karta
Ø 6] Management of the affairs of the business is vested with Karta
Ø 7] Members of the HUF business is got by birth and not by agreement
Ø 8] The HUF business exists even after the death of the Karta or co-
parceners.
Ø 9] By birth itself all members become s the member of the HUF
Ø 10] There is no maximum limit is the number of members in the HUF
business
A joint Hindu family business refers to a business which is owned by
members of a joint Hindu family.The senior most male members of the
family is called Karta, he is deemed to be the manager of the family
business and other male members are called co-parceners.
To generate an idea about JHF and analyse the concept of joint Hindu
family business, Its importance in today’s and to develop the process skill
such as observation, general discussion, lecturing and group discussion.

PHASE 1: INTRODUCTORY PHAS
ACTIVITY:1 GENERAL DISCUSSION
After the routine classroom practices teacher begins the
class by showing some pictures.
Then asked some questions related to the picture.
Have you seen these pictures?
Ok good.
Have you think these members are in a one family?
Then teacher asks some questions,
What is business?
What are the forms of business organisation?
What is sole trading?
What is partnership?
ACTIVITY 2: COMMUNICATION AND GENERAL
DISCUSSION
Then teacher asks one or two students to tell
about their family members.
After getting their answers teacher told about her

FAMILY BUSINESS(B.B)

ACTIVITY 3: STORY READING
Sunitha belongs to a joint family. The
head of the family is her grandfather Narayanan.
They conduct so many types of business in their
villages. Narayanan is the manager of the all
business affairs and he is known as KARTA.
Sunitha have three uncles and they engage in
family business and they are called co-parceners.
This type of business is also called HINDU
UNDIVIDED FAMILY BUSINESS. The liability of the
grandfather is unlimited and that other person is
limited. Sunitha, her mother, aunts, and her cousin
sister have equal role in this family business”.

ACTIVITY 4: GROUP DISCUSSION
Then teacher divides the class into 9
groups and give activity cards .for finding out the
features of JHF business.

ACTIVITY : 5
PAPER ROLL GAME
Then teacher divides the class in to two groups, and ask
them to come any 10 students in front of the desk and
pick any paper roll in the card board box and speak about
the topic which included in the roll about 2 minutes
nonstop.
The paper roll includes the topic like
I. KARTHA
II. JOINT HINDU FAMILY BUSINESS
III. MERTIS OF JOINT HINDU FAMILY BUSINESS
IV. FEATURES OF JOINT HINDU FAMILY BUSINESS,
etc
ACTIVITY 6 : BALL PASSING GAME
After that teacher divides the class in to two groups. One
group represents as merits of the Joint Hindu Family
Business and other group represents as demerits of Joint
Hindu Family Business.
Then teacher explain the game procedure:- teacher
asks the students to form a circle and pass the ball from
one to another with the clap sound from other group.
Once the clap sound stopped, the student who is holding
the ball should tell one merits of Joint Hindu Family. If
the student is failed to answer when he is out of the
game. And so game is continued. The teacher asks the
other group members to write the one merits of Joint
Hindu Family points on the white board. Then the other
group game will start the same procedure and throughout
the game the students should tell the Joint Hindu Family
Business merits and demerits and so the game is

Ø 2] Hindu Undivided Family Business is also called Joint Hindu Family business Ø 3] The family possess some inherited property Ø 4] The all members of the HUF are called co-parcencers Ø 5] The senior most male members of the family is called Karta Ø 6] Management of the affairs of the business is vested with Karta Ø 7] Members of the HUF business is got by birth and not by agreement Ø 8] The HUF business exists even after the death of the Karta or co- parceners. Ø 9] By birth itself all members become s the member of the HUF Ø 10] There is no maximum limit is the number of members in the HUF business A joint Hindu family business refers to a business which is owned by members of a joint Hindu family.The senior most male members of the family is called Karta, he is deemed to be the manager of the family business and other male members are called co-parceners. To generate an idea about JHF and analyse the concept of joint Hindu family business, Its importance in today’s and to develop the process skill such as observation, general discussion, lecturing and group discussion. Students should have knowledge about the forms of business organisation Ø General classroom aid like chalk board Ø Cards used for discussion, Ball, Pictures, Card board box, Chart paper.

CLASSROOM INTERACTION PUPIL RESPONSE PHASE 1: INTRODUCTORY PHAS ACTIVITY:1 GENERAL DISCUSSION After the routine classroom practices teacher begins the class by showing some pictures. Then asked some questions related to the picture. Have you seen these pictures? Ok good. Have you think these members are in a one family? Then teacher asks some questions, What is business? What are the forms of business organisation? What is sole trading? What is partnership? ACTIVITY 2: COMMUNICATION AND GENERAL DISCUSSION Then teacher asks one or two students to tell about their family members. After getting their answers teacher told about her Students are all motivated. Students are observed pictures. Production and distribution of goods and services within then aim of profit. Sole proprietorship, JHF, partnership , companies, cooperative societies. One man business Agreement between partners. Listen carefully

  • 4. PHASE 2: DEVOLOPMENTAL PHASE ACTIVITY 3: STORY READING Sunitha belongs to a joint family. The head of the family is her grandfather Narayanan. They conduct so many types of business in their villages. Narayanan is the manager of the all business affairs and he is known as KARTA. Sunitha have three uncles and they engage in family business and they are called co-parceners. This type of business is also called HINDU UNDIVIDED FAMILY BUSINESS. The liability of the grandfather is unlimited and that other person is limited. Sunitha, her mother, aunts, and her cousin sister have equal role in this family business”. Teacher gives the following question to arrive at the concept “JOINT HINDU FAMILY BUSINESS” 1 · What do you understand the JHF business? “Very good”, CONCEPT TO BE CONSOLIDATED BUSINESS OWNED AND MANAGED BY THE MEMBERS OF JOINT HINDU FAMILY IS CSLLED HINDU FAMILY BUSINESS. IT IS ALSO CALLED HINDU UNDIVIDED FAMILY BUSINESS ACTIVITY 4: GROUP DISCUSSION Then teacher divides the class into 9 groups and give activity cards .for finding out the features of JHF business. · Group 1: The members of HUF are called? “GOOD”.(Then teacher explain it) · Group 2: Who is deemed to be the manager of the HUF business? “GOOD” (then teacher explain it) · Group 3: JHF Business is also known as ,…………………? GOOD” (then teacher explain it) · Group 4: The liability of Karta is ,…..? GOOD” (then teacher explain it) · Group 5: Liability of co-parceners is,……? GOOD” (then teacher explain it) Business owned by the members of the family Co-parceners karta HUF business unlimited Limited Birth
  • 5. · Group 6:Membership of HUF business is possible by? GOOD” (then teacher explain it) · Group 7:Is there any limit for members? GOOD” (then teacher explain it) · Group 8: Does female members have equal role in HUF business in Hindu succession parliament act2004? GOOD” (then teacher explain it) · Group 9: The senior most male members of the HUF business are called? GOOD” (then teacher explain it) ACTIVITY : 5 PAPER ROLL GAME Then teacher divides the class in to two groups, and ask them to come any 10 students in front of the desk and pick any paper roll in the card board box and speak about the topic which included in the roll about 2 minutes nonstop. The paper roll includes the topic like I. KARTHA II. JOINT HINDU FAMILY BUSINESS III. MERTIS OF JOINT HINDU FAMILY BUSINESS IV. FEATURES OF JOINT HINDU FAMILY BUSINESS, etc ACTIVITY 6 : BALL PASSING GAME After that teacher divides the class in to two groups. One group represents as merits of the Joint Hindu Family Business and other group represents as demerits of Joint Hindu Family Business. Then teacher explain the game procedure:- teacher asks the students to form a circle and pass the ball from one to another with the clap sound from other group. Once the clap sound stopped, the student who is holding the ball should tell one merits of Joint Hindu Family. If the student is failed to answer when he is out of the game. And so game is continued. The teacher asks the other group members to write the one merits of Joint Hindu Family points on the white board. Then the other group game will start the same procedure and throughout the game the students should tell the Joint Hindu Family Business merits and demerits and so the game is No limit Yes Karta Students are actively participated the game. Students listen carefully. Students are actively participated the game.

From this students get a clear idea about the topic Joint Hindu Family Business meanings. PHASE 3 :CONCLUDING PHASE Teacher conclude the topic by explaining all in once again.
