BNNRC's outreach extends to local, national and international forums for communicating Knowledge for Media.
BNNRC’s approach to media development is both knowledge-driven and context-sensitive, and it takes into account the challenges and opportunities created by the rapidly changing media environment in Bangladesh including community radio development giving voices for the voiceless.

1. Bangladesh currently lacks a comprehensive Broadcasting Policy to regulate its growing broadcast media landscape which now includes over 10 TV channels and radio stations.
2. A Broadcasting Policy is needed to promote culture and values, ensure economic interests and national sovereignty, and make sure media fulfills social responsibilities, while also protecting freedom of expression.
3. The policy should maximize the positive impacts of media and minimize negative impacts. It should provide guidelines around content, ownership rules to prevent monopolies, and address consumer complaints. Having one overall policy is preferable to separate laws for different media types.

BudgIT conducted a study to examine the effectiveness of its budget communication efforts for citizens in Nigeria. They surveyed 456 citizens, 116 of whom had digital access to budget information provided by BudgIT, while 249 citizens in 10 communities were provided printed budget documents. The study found that access to clear budget information increased citizens' interest in development projects by over 95% for both digital and non-digital citizens. While more non-digital citizens visited project sites after receiving information, digital citizens were more likely to engage government officials about projects. Overall, the findings suggest that providing citizens access to budget information encourages monitoring of projects and demands for government accountability.

BudgIT conducted a study to examine the effectiveness of its budget communication efforts for citizens in Nigeria. They surveyed 456 citizens, 116 of whom had digital access to budget information provided by BudgIT, while 249 citizens in 10 communities were provided printed budget documents. The study found that access to clear budget information increased citizens' interest in development projects by over 95% for both digital and non-digital citizens. While more non-digital citizens visited project sites after receiving information, digital citizens were more likely to engage government officials about projects. Overall, the findings suggest that providing citizens access to budget information encourages monitoring of projects and demands for government accountability.

1.0. Introduction:
The Open Government Partnership (OGP) is a global initiative that aims at promoting transparency, empower citizens, fight corruption and encourage use of new technologies to improve governance. The OGP is overseen by a multi-stakeholder International Steering Committee comprised of Government and civil society representatives. One of the major benefits of OGP is to improve service delivery and make Governments more responsible and accountable to their citizens. Given the benefits of this initiative, Tanzania declared its intention to join OGP during the launching meeting. The decision to join OGP is an important step to complement the Government‟s ongoing efforts to strengthen good governance across all sectors. Good governance has been a critical element to enhance and sustain peace and stability, economic growth, social development and poverty reduction in Tanzania. It is on this basis, that the Government formulated the National Framework for Good Governance (NFGG) in 1999 as a guide to institute good governance in the country. The NFGG envisages a broad-based national partnership for development of good governance. Such a partnership includes Central and Local Governments, Private Sector, Faith-Based and Civil Society Organizations consistent with OGP principles. To spearhead good governance across the Government, several key and cross-cutting governance reforms are being implemented. These core reforms are; the Public Service Reform Program (PSRP), the Local Government Reform Program (LGRP), the Legal Sector Reform Program (LSRP), the Public Financial Management Reform Program (PFMRP) and the National Anti-corruption Strategy and Action Plan (NACSAP). In line with these reforms, sector specific programmes have been undertaken to improve service delivery through the implementation of Decentralization by Devolution (D-by-D). These programmes constitute the policy and strategic framework for enhancing accountability, transparency and integrity in the use of public resources in order to improve service delivery.
The Government has also established and continues to strengthen, empower and improve performance of institutions dealing with issues of good governance, integrity and combating corruption. These include the Ethics Secretariat the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau and the Commission for Human Rights and Good Governance. Other accountability institutions include the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority, the National Audit Office and the Parliamentary Watchdog Committees. In addition to this, Tanzania has enacted laws that require leaders and senior public officials to disclose their incomes and assets to the Ethics Secretariat as a measure to instill integrity in public life.

About 40 experts from around the globe gathered online for a pre-engagement session, paving the way for the first SASi-SPi Science Policy Lab event scheduled for June 18-19, 2024 in Malmö. The session presented the objectives for the upcoming Science Policy Lab (S-PoL), which featured a role-playing game designed to simulate stakeholder interactions and policy interventions for food systems transitions. The Innovative Agriculture for Smallholder Resilience (iNASHR) project (Egypt) was implemented over 3 years during which there was the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to instability in farm prices and uncertainties in water availability.
Despite this, 18 teams of Entrepreneurs for Rural Access (ERAs) serving as digital extension service providers were able to reach more than 60,000 people in rural communities between 2021 and 2023.
Three specially commissioned “farmer-to-farmer” style training videos were produced (see at the bottom of this blog post),
and 60 other relevant Access Agriculture videos were translated into Arabic and shown to farmers.
These active service providers, half of whom are women, used a solar-powered smart projector to reach communities where access to power supply, internet connection and mobile phone signal can be challenging.

The insurance industry is exposed to the risks of climate change and that risk is increasing. Insurers should be aware of these risks and the potential impact on their business. A 2019 global survey [With Climate Impacts Growing, Insurance Companies Face Big Challenges] found that 72 percent of insurance companies believe climate change will affect their business, but 80 percent of them have not taken significant steps to lessen climate risks. Moreover, insurance companies invest the money from the premiums they collect in the financial markets. They have $582 billion invested in fossil fuels investments that could be devalued as climate risks increase.
As natural disasters become more frequent and more costly, insurance companies are facing big challenges. If insurers are to weather the storms ahead, they’ll need to make some changes. The insurance industry needs to make substantial changes to deal with its own climate risks. Some of these changes could also enable insurance companies to help speed the transition to a net-zero society.

How are African banks coping with Climate Change
16 May 2023. This webinar discussed how climate-related risks threaten the functioning of banking institutions as well as the stability of the financial system.
Climate change and climate policy affect the balance sheets and business models of banks in different ways. African banks are vulnerable to the increasing frequency and severity of climate change shocks. They are also increasingly aware of the importance of adopting green financing principles, seeking to address risks and more importantly, to grasp new opportunities.
However, only 17% of banks have so far introduced specific green financing products, and these are estimated to account for only 2-20% of their portfolio . The webinar discussed how climate-related risks threaten the functioning of banking institutions as well as the stability of the financial system. The discussions also shed light on initiatives of banks to implement sustainable practices and central banks to create an enabling environment for sustainable finance drawing on international best practices.

Paul SMITH has worked for the climate team at the United Nations’ Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) for over four years. Paul leads UNEP FI’s climate adaptation and physical risk work supporting the Climate Risk Programme, the Climate Adaptation Working Group of the Principles for Responsible Banking and the Adaptation and Resilience Investor Collaborative (ARIC). He also leads on climate policy in partnership with the Investor Agenda and has co-authored The Climate Risk Landscape, Physically Fit? and Adapting to a New Climate, as well as contributing to Climate Risk: Managing the Financial Risk and Funding the Transition
Anthony NYONG is the Director of Climate Change and Green Growth at the AfDB. Mr. Nyong has about 30 years of experience in environmental and natural resources management, renewable energy and green growth. He was a Coordinating Lead Author for the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report and a member of the IPCC Task Group on Data and Scenario Support for Impact and Climate Analysis.
David ASHIAGBOR is the Chief Financial Sector Strategy Officer in the Financial Sector Development Department of the African Development Bank. He is currently leading the design and development of the Bank’s new Financial Sector Development Strategy, in addition to supporting the Director on policy and strategy issues.
Marina FINKEN is the Partnership Coordinator for Making Finance Work For Africa (MFW4A). She is an experienced Finance Professional who, before joining MFW4A had a successful career within Big 4 firms, providing audit and advisory services to large Banking groups and other financial services entities.

Proposal: The Ark Project and The BEEP Inc
1.) Introduction
Our Movement is not new; it is the same as it was for Freedom, Justice, and Equality since we were labeled as slaves. However, this movement at its core must entail economics.
2.) Historical Context
This is the same movement because none of the previous movements, such as boycotts, were ever completed. For some, maybe, but for the most part, it’s just a place to keep your stable until you’re ready to assimilate them into your system. The rest of the crabs are left in the world’s worst parts, begging for scraps.
3.) Economic Empowerment
Our Movement aims to show that it is indeed possible for the less fortunate to establish their economic system. Everyone else – Caucasian, Asian, Mexican, Israeli, Jews, etc. – has their systems, and they all set up and usurp money from the less fortunate. So, the less fortunate buy from every one of them, yet none of them buy from the less fortunate. Moreover, the less fortunate really don’t have anything to sell.
4.) Collaboration with Organizations
Our Movement will demonstrate how organizations such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, National Urban League, Black Lives Matter, and others can assist in creating a much more indestructible Black Wall Street.
5.) Vision for the Future
Our Movement will not settle for less than those who came before us and stopped before the rights were equal. The economy, jobs, healthcare, education, housing, incarceration – everything is unfair, and what isn’t is rigged for the less fortunate to fail, as evidenced in society.
6.) Call to Action
Our movement has started and implemented everything needed for the advancement of the economic system. There are positions for only those who understand the importance of this movement, as failure to address it will continue the degradation of the people deemed less fortunate.
