This document provides a history of the development of the World Wide Web from its origins in 1980 through present day. It discusses Tim Berners-Lee's initial vision for a system to allow scientists to share information, the creation of the first web browser and server in 1990, and the launch and early growth of the Web in 1991-1995. It also outlines the standardization of HTML and other web standards by the W3C, and characterizes different generations of the Web from static Web 1.0 to user-generated Web 2.0 to a proposed personalized Web 3.0.

8. -ENQUIRE by Tim Berners-Lee at CERN,which was the predecessor to the World Wide Web.It was a simple hypertext program.

9. -ENQUIRE had pages called cards and hyperlinks within the cards.

10. -There was a need that people were able to create cards independently of others and to link to other cards without updating the linked card. To be Continued.....

11. 1984

12. Berners-Lee considered its problems of information presentation: physicists from around the world needed to share data, and with no common machines and no common presentation software. He wrote a proposal in March 1989 for "a large hypertext database with typed links".

13. September 1990

14. Berners-Lee and Cailliau pitched their ideas to the European Conference on Hypertext Technology. To be Continued.....

16. Berners-Lee had built all the tools necessary for a working Web:
