Initial Location Ideas
Pub
The shots of the pub will be used
when the detective interrogates
people in the bar – trying to find out
where his love interest is. In this
scene, there will also be shots of the
detective character showing a
‘missing’ poster.
By having this setting, it lets the
audience know that it is a typical
setting where rumors and stories are
told therefore those in the pub, know
what’s going on.
Recording Studio/Booth
The setting of the recording
studio and the booth will be
used when the band are shown
performing together. I will be
using this setting as it is
common in rock music videos
and the audience like seeing a
live performance from the
band.
Park/Bench
The setting of the park and
bench will be used when the
singer is walking, thinking
about the girl.
This will also be used in part
of the music video of when
he writes a lyric/note on a
notepad whilst sitting on this
bench.
Abandoned Room
The abandoned dark room
will be where the female is
held hostage.
By having the setting in this
abandoned room, it allows
the audience to understand
the narrative and the dangers
of the situation more.
It also makes the detective
look more heroic and brave.
It also shows how strong his
desires are for this woman
and he is taking many risks
just to win her over.
Street (Dark & Mysterious)
The dark and mysterious street
setting will be used when the
detective character is
introduced.
This is a common film noir
feature as it is a dark,
mysterious and urban area.
The shots shown in this setting
will be of the detective
smoking a cigar which is also
another feature of film noir.
Singers Bedroom
The setting that will be used of the
singers bedroom will be when he
is playing his guitar, thinking
about this woman.
The mise en scene for his room
will be an average single mans
bedroom.
